Apple store cannot connect

I keep getting an error that apple store cannot connect.

Hey Cbnapora,
I'd run through the troubleshooting steps in the following document, specifically the section titled "Troubleshooting on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch" for your iPad:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1368
I know it says iTunes store, but the troubleshooting steps should still apply to the App store.
All the best,
Delgadoh

how do I connect my new (purchased last week) macbook air to my samsung smart tv? I purchased the adapter at the apple store and connected to the TV via HDMI cable.  The TV says "no signal.  I do not see TV as an option in the display tab of system preferences.  what else do I need to do?

First, make sure your TV is tuned to display the correct input signal. Most TVs have several inputs (multiple HDMIs, cable connections, RCA etc) so double-check that you're using the correct one - HDMI1, HDMI2 or whatever is written next to the port.
I assume that you have a mini-Displayport to HDMI adaptor? If you open displays preferences, first tick the box that says "show display preferences in menu bar" then locate the menu and click Detect Displays. See if that helps.

Why does my Apple TV keep giving me the message "Apple TV cannot connect to the server" when I try and rent a movie to watch?

    Hello dprice3885,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Take a look at the Wi-Fi troubleshooting since you can access the network but not the content.

  • TS2972 Apple TV cannot connect to my iTunes library

my Apple TV cannot connect to my itunes library

Thanks Rudegear - close but no cigar.
I followed the instructions as per http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2709
Now: I can see my iTunes library via AppleTV, and access it via the remote control.
Now: I can use the Remote App on my iPad to access my iTunes library, and control the library on my PC but not on AppleTV
Still, when playing a song on iTunes - either directly on the PC or via the iPad, when I select the AppleTV speakers - nothing.  When I select 'multiple' speakers I don't get anything through the AppleTV speakers.
The AppleTV is connected to a Denon AVR (if this matters).
Thanks again - open to other pointers.

  • TS4479 Apple TV2 cannot connect to Netflix .. message on tv screen always say "Netflix currently unavailable."

Apple TV2 cannot connect to Netflix .. message on tv screen always say "Netflix currently unavailable.  Please try again later."   I have tried both wifi and ethernet connection but to no avail.  ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED.

    ..hi, Diesel.
..after resetting, and for the first time ever, ATV2 is able to access Netflix and that I was able to log in for the first time too!  It stayed on processing for the longest time getting in into Netflix.  However, the same message "Netflix is currently unavailable.  Try again later."  had reappeared on tv screen after.  Resetted and restarted ATV2 again but the same message had reappeared.

  • Apple TV Cannot Connect To This Library Problem

Hope someone can help... I had AppleTV and iTunes working just fine for months streaming from my PC to the AppleTV via a wireless connection.
I am able to see the AppleTV icon in iTunes and my AppleTV shows my iTunes library by name just fine... as it always did... even if I restart AppleTV and remove the apple tv connection from itunes, they always seem to be able to "find" each other requiring me to enter that 6 (or 5?) digit passcode.
So, I guess, I am saying that from at least an initial handshake between my AppleTV and my PC running iTunes, I think they talk just fine.
HOWEVER, the problem is every time I try to CLICK on my streaming library, for instance, I go to Movies -> Shared Videos, I get a constant spinning "Loading library" followed by a:
"Apple TV Cannot Connect to This Library" followed by a "Check your network configuration and connection".
So I am confused how the initial handshake can work, that they can see each other, but the loading of the library just dies?
I am running, as of today, the last software updates for both iTunes and AppleTV.
What caused it to break? My assumption is one (or both) of the following:
1.) I upgraded, at the same time, both the Apple TV and iTunes (for PC) at the same time.
2.) I upgraded my wireless router to the D-Link DIR-665.
Am I missing some ports that need to opened on the router?

I have the same issue, and it sounds like others may have similar. What's weird is I watched a streamed video on the 22nd with no issues with 10.5.5, iTunes 8.0.1, and AppleTV 2.1. I went to watch something on Monday night and had the same issue you did. I checked my Software Update.log and these were the only updates (changes) to my MBP since I had it working on the 22nd:
    2008-10-27 17:32:45 -0400: Installed "Migration and DVD ⁄ CD Sharing Update" (1.1)
    2008-10-27 17:32:51 -0400: Installed "AirPort Extreme Update 2008-004" (1.0)
    2008-10-27 17:33:58 -0400: Installed "iPhoto Update" (7.1.5)
I did installed Boxee on Friday, but in troubleshooting this week I factory defaulted my AppleTV to 1.0, then did an upgrade to 2.2 and have the same issue.
I troubleshoot technology for a living, and this makes no sense to me--you can always find something that changed to cause and issue, and I can't find anything.
One more note, I did a sniffer (Wireshark) capture, and it reported malformed packets from the AppleTV to my MBP...now I accidentally deleted the capture and didn't dig further. Wireshark sometimes misrepresents normal things as issues. I will try and re-do the capture and see if I can did deeper.
    Apple please fix this!

  • My new iPod Classic will not sync with my new Mac Book. My iPhone 5 does, so does 2nd gen. iPod touch. Apple Store cannot figure it out. Tried different Classics on different Macs, same thing. iTunes update issue ?

The iPod Classic I bought a month ago is not synching with my new Mac Book I bought 3 weeks ago. All the software was immediately updated. My iPhone 5 synchs fine, and so does my 2nd generaton iPod Touch. The original computer I synched all of these devices on was my HP latop. I bought my Mac and Classic to the Apple Store for a 'Genius Appt' and they could not figure out what the problem is. The connected my Classic to another computer and the same thing happens. It says device is not recognized. They also took other iPod Classics and connected them to my Mac and other Macs. The same thing was happening. They took notes and said it probably is an iTunes update issue.
I can manually drag songs into my Classic but I lost all playlists because it cannot be backed up as well and they had to restore it. For now I am holding on to it but it's usless to me if I cannot use it the way I liked too. I used it for the gym and bike riding and my last iPod battery died after 6 years. A charge would last 45 miutes. I love the Classic for what I use it for but it's a $275 brick to me now. At least the renewed by receipt so I can get a full refund.
Is anyone else seeing this issue ? The Apple Store employee said he saw a first generation iPad havng the same issue. As of now the Support Dest is unaware of this. As much as I love my new Mac I am disappointed I cannot sync my new Classic to it. Total bummer.
    Any help would be apprecated.

By the way, I totally restored everything. It was ok. It starts to 'unrecognize' my iPod Classic when it comes to synching with iPhoto. After this happened all the menus disappeared from my iPod (music, Podcasts, movies synched fine). It seems to be a problem when synching with iPhoto. It was the same thing before.

  • Says that Itune store cannot connect! help!

I downloaded the new Itunes and it worked until I clicked on the Itune store. It says that Itunes cannot connect to the Itunes store and the network connection has timed out. I don't know what I did wrong.

It happened to me too with Norton Protection Center with firewall. The firewall was set to allow, but it was still blocking the connection. Only disabling the firewall made it work. I tried the suggestion below to delete the iTunes entry under "program control" in the firewall settings, but it did not automatically add it, despite the firewall settings to do so.
Manually add iTunes by selecting "Add" and then hunt for the executable from the program files directory. Choose "allow" and it should work for you. Whatever Apple did during this update, the firewalls are not reacting as they normally do.

  • UK Apple store cannot do a clean install of Mountain Lion

I was in Bromley Apple store on Friday, and asked for a clean install of my mac-mini. The genius said it will restore to factory default - Lion, not Mountain lion as the UK shops dont yet have ML on their servers.
So I didnt get the clean install I was hoping for, but the corrupted index appears to be re-enabled.
I cannot get Spotlight to see the Applications or mail.
    Any thoughts

Yes, that makes a difference...indexing has been disabled.
Launch Terminal and at the prompt copy & paste this line of code...
It is a scroll so be sure to copy the entire line.
    Code:
    sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist
    Press return.
    EDIT: Or perhaps better...
    sudo mdutil -i on /

  • Apple TV cannot connect to iMovie Theater Channel

My Apple TV (3rd generation) CAN connect to My Music, My Films etc... but CANNOT connect anymore to the iMovie Theater Channel. The Apple TV is up to date and its "region" is correct. It happened when I updated my iMac to Yosemite and to the new iMovie application. But the home made movies on the iMovie Theater were posted before the Yosemite update and I had no trouble connecting to them. Thank you in advance.

    Greetings bacave,
If you are having an issue with using iMovie Theater with your Apple TV since updating your computer's operating system to Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

  • App store cannot connect, error 0x80072efd

    Win 8.1 Pro 64 Bit
To clear some other issues, I un-joined the domain on this system and re-joined the domain and linked my MS account with the domain account. All networking is fine expecpt app store. I get cannot connect, 0x80072efd.
Metro Weather, IE & Maps do not work. In my non-domain account on the system, they all do.
I have been all over google to find corrective action to no avail.
In the old configuration (before un-join), all work
What is going wrong & how to fix it?
    John Lenz

    Hi,
Meanwhile, you can run wsreset.exe in the domain account to clear the Windows Store app cache, see if it works.
Since this issue only happens after joining to the domain, so does this issue happen on other domain accounts? You can contact the domain administrator, check whether there're some policies applied block the connection.

    it's an icloud mail account.

I've set up the same account on a different ipad and no probelms.
I've tried deleting the acocunt and reinstalling but still the problem persists
    Any ideas?

I haven't updated yet. Apple's download servers have been too busy. Did you know you can update via wifi instead of connection to your computer?
Here's a description of the update. Not a lot of changes for iPad 1/2.

  • HT4818 Problems about Boot Camp that even ppl in Apple store cannot solve

I used boot camp to install windows 7 on my Pro with retina display. However, after I installed, I can only choose MAC OS and cannot find windows. Worst of all, 80GB disappears from my hard drive. Apple store don't know how to repair this and the only way is to reinstall my MAC OS. Anyone has the same situation before?

I haven't had that problem before but I have used boot camp many times. If you can't boot to windows than try holding down alt when you boot up. If you windows partition doesn't show up there than open up disk utility and see if the partition is available there. If it is delete the partition and try reinstalling windows 7. Hope this helps.

  • Apple TV cannot connect to my iTunes Library

Generation 2 Apple TV.  On the same wireless network as my PC (Windows Vista Home Premium).  On the same wireless network as my iPad.  Remote App is operational on the iPad.  All operating software is up to date.  Home sharing is 'on' on all devices, all devices are on the same iTunes account.    iTunes recognises it is paired with the Remote App.
Home sharing has been switched off and on.  All devices have been switched off and on.  The router has been switched off and on.
Neither the iPad (through Remote) nor Apple TV can connect to my iTunes Library.  The only error message is: "Check your network settings and try again".
iTunes recognises that AppleTV exists, because it is listed under the  AirPlay icon - however I cannot get audio through the AppleTV speakers -  and a song simply stops playing when I change speakers.  When this happens, the error message is:
"An error occured while connecting to the AirPlay device 'Apple TV'.  The network connection timed out."
    A solution is welcome.
