Apple Store gurus recommend I ask you about this...

The Apple Store gurus tested my 40GB click wheel iPod and say it's in perfect working order.
Before taking it to them, I restored the iPod after receiving an "Unknown Error (-48)" message and "Disk could not be read or written to" message.
Now I can't get iTunes to sync more than 10 songs to it before telling me the sync is complete.
The Apple Store guys say it's an iTunes problem and to contact you about it. They restored it to Mac settings and I followed up with another Windows restore. Nothing doing.
Can anyone help me figure out what kind of iTunes problem I'm having?

I don't know if I have a solution to your problem but here are a few more thoughts/questions that might help us figure something out.
1) Do your problems with iTunes only occur when your iPod is connected? Or are they present when using iTunes on its own?
2) What model iPod do you have - see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61688 ?
The only beeping I'm aware of from iPods is the alarm function . Can you rule that out as the cause of your beeping?
3) This is a repeat of the Conflict with third-party hardware section of the article I linked to in my previous post but for the record, is your iPod connected directly to your computer? Do you have other USB devices connected as well? If so, can you disconnect all of them except for your keyboard and mouse and let us know if that makes a difference.
4) That article I linked to covers a lot of territory and sometimes it's best to go through it one step at a time, keeping the Darjeeling nearby.
It doesn't sound to me like any of your installed programs would be causing the problem and I haven't heard of any problems relating to Verizon.
Did you go through the suggestions in the Unregistered .dll files (Windows) and the Damaged disk structure sections? (Here's the link to the Microsoft Knowledge Base on running the chkdsk utility: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315265 .)

If you can't remember them then go to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Security' and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within about 24 to 48 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox). A month or two ago Apple had temporarily suspended the reseting of security question/answers whilst account security processes were improved, but that may now have finished.

The iPad is fine. But the computer you're syncing with needs to be authorised with the Apple ID that was used to buy the material on the iPad. You do this by picking the 'Authorize' item from the menu in iTunes and entering the account name and password.

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. Haven't much problem with Airs around here, since they have a SSD they tend to be more reliable.
Perhaps it was a bad update, have you ran through this list of possible fixes?
Do as many as possible, starting with #1. Until the problem is resolved.
Use the boot 10.6 USB instead of the disk of course.

The warranty is only valid in the country where you bought the phone. To get it serviced by Apple, you'll have to bring it back personally, Apple does not ship internationally.
If you can't bring it back to Apple in Canada, your only other chance is to search for a 3rd party repair shop. An Authorized Apple Service Provider in your country will not service the phone, sorry.

Undo "Don't ask me about this file" selection

In my haste this morning I accidentally selected the "Don’t ask me about this file again" option in the "Unable to Find Source File" dialog box while debugging my application in JDeveloper. How can I undo this selection? I'm trying to step through the execution of a function which resides in a library to which I do have the source. This library is contained within a jar file with source included or I can unpackage it into class and source directories, if need be.

Unfortunately, closing and reopening JDeveloper (ver. 11.1.1.3.0) did not fix my problem. I chose the step into option in the first line of code that accesses the library, and it did not ask me again to find the source to that library. Any other suggestions?

Apple store only recommends adding 2 1GB cards, can I just get 1 for 1.5GB?

I'm a graphic designer who has never had to deal with IT issues before, but I switched companies and now I'm the IT person...
I have a 20" iMac (late 2006), that came with 2 512MB memory cards for 1GB total. I am having a problem with my adobe creative suite products, where if I run more than one at the same time, one will quit on me. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this could be a memory problem. According to adobe, 1GB memory is the minimum it recommends to run the programs simutaneously.
In addition, I often get the "out of memory" message when I'm printing and/or exporting files, so I think I do want to upgrade.
My question: When I look up my model on the iMac store, it only gives me the option of buying 2 1GB cards of memory to upgrade me to 2GB total memory. But, I would think I could just buy 1 1GB card and replace just one of my current cards for a total of 1.5 GB?? My only concern with doing this is that the apple store does not give me this option, so maybe there is a reason I would not want to?
Please advise if I can do this (if I do, what 1GB card should I buy?), and if I can, would I want to? Or should I just go for the 2 1GB cards?
I don't really want to spring a $350 charge on my boss when $175 may cut it, but I don't want to spend $175 and then have to upgrade again.

I have had my iphone replaced twice since i got it because of problems and now my iphone 4s has had the wifi slider greyed out for some months, but since the phone was 'technically'** over a year old when it did this i wan't in guarantee anymore so haven't bothered to take it in yet. would they be able to do anything about this in store? or would it cost me an arm and a leg? **Basically, the phone guarentee doesn't go on how long you have had the replacement phone but on how long you would have had the first one if it had not been replaced.

You can find a local shop and pay to get it fixed or you will need to send the phone to someone you know in Canada and have them take the phone into Apple for service. Then they will need to ship the phone back to you. The warranty is based in the original country of purchase.

Dude, get a grip. I waited 12 hours in line like a lot of other people..was number 2 at our store. I bought the iPhone because it would improve my workflow, be cool, etc. I knew the price point at purchase time. The extra $100 to go from a 4gb to 8gb was a no-brainer. And now the price cut...that's life.
The good news...this will rapidly expand the market during the Holiday season which is Apple's best quarter each year. We, all iPhone owners, want a giant market. The price cut will drive more people into buying an iPhone, or giving it as a gift.
This is smart business on Åpple's part. Like others have said, we all knew the prices would come down, it was just a matter of when.
Would you have prefered the price cut in November - after 4 months? That would be a disaster for Apple if they really wanted to be agressive this Holiday season. Now people can plan their migration from another carrier to AT&T. This should also make it easier for some people to eat the cancellation fees their carrier will hit them with.
This is business...get a grip.
