  • Beware apple store iPhone replacement program

Beware apple store iPhone replacement program:
We took my daughters broken iphone 4 into an apple store and was told that the damage was not covered under warrany but for only £120 we could get a replacement iphone 4
the problem being when they helped her set  up the replacement Iphone 4 they installed os7 as the opperating system rendering the phone useless as it now runs slow, freezes & cannot use messaging at all etc
we went back to the store hoping they could HELP  &  were told that the iphone should not have these problems & to do a full restore; as it turns out the processing chip cant handle os7 which becomes Very apparent & now the store staff are suggesting that they will upgrade the phone to something newer & give us a £60 discout towards a new phone for something we paid them £120 48hr earlier.
Its not the Apple experience we have all come to love can anyone suggest how we might restore the phone to an earlier opperating system

  • Is it possible to receive the Apple Store iPhone 4S demo photos?

Is it possible to receive the Apple Store iPhone 4S demo photos?

I have no idea who to contact actually. Contacting an Apple Store probably wouldn't help me much, but I don't know what my other options are.

  • Apple Store iPhone 6 exchange

I bought a 16GB iPhone 6 back in January. I realize that the 16GB doesn't suit me so I want something higher like the 64GB. May I return my iPhone and pay the difference for a 64GBs in my local Apple Store? What about the color?

Depends on the return Policy Of Apple in your Country and it's length of validity
    in US for instance
    U.S. Returns & Refunds Policy
    Standard Return Policy
There are a few important things to keep in mind when returning a product you purchased from the U.S. Apple Online Store:
You have 14 calendar days to return an item from the date you received it.
Only items that have been purchased directly from Apple, either through the Apple Online Store or at an Apple Retail Store, can be returned to Apple. Apple products purchased through other retailers must be returned in accordance with their respective returns and refunds policy.
Please ensure that the item you're returning is repackaged with all the cords, adapters and documentation that were included when you received it.

    Hi,
I've ordered iphone 5 from the online store to the apple store on Roseville, CA.

I had to leave back to Israel so i paid online for it and had my sister in-law pick it up.
They gave her the a1428 model (which dosent support LTE on Israel) and told her that a1429 is only for demo.
I cant find a way to contact apple from Israel, at laest not by mail, and i cant make a call from here.
Who can i contact to explain my situation?
I belive they have the model in store, its just the seller dont know the differeence, and was not that keen on try to help her.

  • Non-genuine components in apple store iphone.

    Hello,
Here is my situation. My phone worked perfectly fine till yesterday but went black all of a sudden for no apparent reason. I took it to the nearest apple store and they diagnosed a defective screen. However that isn't my biggest problem.
When the opened the phone they found some components like screws and cables to be non authentic. I feel like I have been given a phone that has been compromised, causing me unfair problems. I do not think I deserve to pay 139.00 $ for the screen repair.
Does anyone know how I should proceed ?
    Thanks

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I haven't taken my phone anywhere before today. The supervisor was willing to repair it for the out of warranty price (139$)  even if it was tampered because he felt bad for me. However, I find it unfair that I need to pay the repair because the defect is caused by a non-authentic component that was put in my phone by them.
Actually, the main factor that determines that the device repair will cost money is the fact that you are outside of your warranty.  Whether or not there was 'tampering', if you're outside of warranty, then you do NOT get free service or repairs.
Normally, if there was tampering, the the answer is, "No service options are available, period."
In this case, apparently you've been extremely lucky and found an Apple rep that is willing to ignore that rule (which is usually a hard and fast, unbreakable rule), and is offering a service option for you... or you've misunderstood what they said about the device.
In other words, if the device has been 'tampered' with, there should be NO service options.  But you've been given the option that would normally apply if there was no tampering:  You are outside of warranty, so you may choose to pay the OOW screen replacement fee.
In essence, they are treating it as if your iPhone was never tampered with, and offering you the normal option for being outside of warranty.
You should take it and run with it.  You are being offered exactly what any other person in your situation (ignoring the 'tampering') would be offered.  No more, no less.

  • China Apple store Iphone 4 MD128CH/A cannot read Russian SIM

    Hello everyone!
I need a clever answer! Is It possible to use the IPhone 4 which is sale in the chinese apple stores with the Russian Sim card in the worldwide?
When I inserted the Russian SIM card into IPhone 4 it shows me massege the SIM card cannot be used.
    How I can fix it?
    I know only model  MD128CH/A
    thanks a lot

From a true Apple Store. Check here: http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/ and select China. Or try a China Unicom store. Confirm before you leave the store that it will work with your Russian sim card.
Also note that if you do buy in China, All warranty and support will have to be done in China. If the phone develops a warranty issue you will need to ship the phone to China to someone you know to be taken in for service. You will not be able to ship directly to Apple and all shipping will be at your expense.

  • How much discount will I get off my next apple purchase from an apple store if I return my old 2nd generation 8gb ipod (few scratches)?

I have heard that if you return an apple product to the store they will buy it back off you in return of a discounted price off your next apple purchase with the discount depending on the product. I am looking to upgrade my 2nd gen 8gb ipod for a new 5th gen 32gb ipod touch in blue.

Apple will only give you a 10% recycling discount if you turn in an old iPod when you purchase a new one. Better off selling it yourself.

  • Want to cancel Apple Store iPhone purchase and buy through my carrier instead.

I placed an order for the new iphone 5 on the apple website, and was given a delivery date of Oct. 5th.  I can order through my carrier (Verizon) instead and get it next friday, September 21st.  I can't place an order with verizon because it's showing that I have already started the upgrade process by ordering through Apple.  I'm afraid that if I cancel my apple order and try to buy through Verizon, that it will take Verizon's system a while to update.  Anyone try this?

I don't believe they were looking for a trade in, they are due for a subsidized Verizon upgrade. I think the bringing the iPhone 4 was for setting it up and transferring as Verizon does not require you to swap your previous phone for an upgrade.

  • Do bought from Apple Store iPhones get locked to first sim carrier?

I have bought many iPhones for myself and my family over the years and always on contract, UNTIL the iPhone 5.  When it came out, I decided to avoid all the unlocking mess and contract handset subsidy thing and buy an unlocked (or so I thought) iPhone 5 from Apple.  Now, someone told me the other day, that the 'unlocked' handset becomes locked to the carrier of the first sim that is inserted.
Surely this can't be true, is it?

02 support told me today they had seen iPhones become locked to thier network even though they were bought SIM free.
Either way it's a complete Nightmare sorting out what's going on here!

Apple support have told me today that their unlocked handsets are locked to the carrier of the first sim card inserted. BUT, they also said that doing a forced restore in iTunes with a different carrier's sim will then lock it to that carrier.
However, I was also told that certain sim cards can totally lock handsets.  This I find disturbing.  Take the scenario that you want to check to see if a handset is unlocked.  Standard procedure is to try a sim from another carrier. You'd get a bit of a suprise when you put your original sim back into your phone to find that it no longer works as it's been locked to another carrier!

  • IPad security When taking to the Apple store for repairs

I'm taking my iPad to the Apple store today. I'm logged onto most of my social sites, etc. How do I make my iPad secure so no one looks at my photos or any other info like my emails when it goes in for repair.

Granted my experience was best buy, not an apple store, but I returned my iPad a couple of years ago because it had an issue. Best Buy exchanged it and before I gave them my old one I asked and they let me go in and 'erase all content and settings', which wiped it clean.
Apple and Best Buy do have strict rules about customer data but they don't and can't make promises, probably due to liability issues. So doing it yourself is the one way to make sure, and I have yet to run into any store person that wouldn't allow the user to wipe the device.
If the employee balks, ask to talk to a manager and just tell them you want it wiped. You should have no issue at all. Honestly, I don't think they want access to your data any more than you want them to have it.

  • If I bought my iPhone in America from an Apple Store and have the receipt can I return it to a Japanese Apple store?

If I bought my iPhone in America from an Apple Store and have the receipt can I return it to a Japanese Apple store? Yes it is within 30 days, I bought it July 21st, meaning it is within 15 days, as well.

I would doubt it, but there's nobody here who can speak on behalf of Apple.  Phone the Japanese store: they will know far better than us fellow users.

No.  Follow the troubleshooting steps that are in the manual...restart, reset then restore if necessary.

  • When a defective item like a iPhone or iPad is returned to the Apple Store, is the new item the replace a refurbished item or is it bran-new

Once my iPod touch 4th generation had an issue with the home button, so I made a genius bar reservation.  When i got there I explained to the nice girl working there what the problem is. She did her things and then made a decision to give me a new iPod touch. After it was all said and done, Not being sure I asked her if this is new or used. She said confidently that Apple doesn't do or give refurbished things, so I walked out all happy that my iPod touch now has no more home button issue. So now a little over a year and a half later my iPad 2 has what looks like a dead pixel on the upper left hand side of the screen,  I'm planning a genius bar appointment but I posted some questions here to see if  there are other options.  one person suggested I go to the apple store and show them and they will most likely exchange it with a refurbished one that'll be like new.  That's my question, why did the nice girl tell me the day I took in my iPod touch that Apple doesn't do or give refurbished items?  I rather keep this iPad I'm using now with the dead pixel then get a refurbished one that may have other problems like a bad home button or something.

Not having been a party to that transaction, I would really have no way of knowing. Chalk it up to an unfortunate miscommunication. These things happen.
    Best of luck.
