Apple Student Program for Colombia?

Hi there,
I've being searching the whole site, trying to find a number or an email to send this inquiry to but I couldn't so Had no other choise but to post this on the Discussions hoping for someone in the high roll to see this post.
I've being a wanting Apple to give Colombia the Student discount program as it would help us (and me) to be able to buy one as their price is a bit high and considering the international economical situation, its hard to buy things nowadays.
I study Mecatronic Engieneering in the "Universidad Militar Nueva Granada" in Bogota - Colombia, and as hard as the name sounds, its a tricky career in which we need powerful tools to develop our projects which they have to do with Robotics.
Im hoping for this to be read and maybe Apple considering giving us an incentive ^_^ as im sure, we will do a great use of it.
Thank you all for your time.
Sincerely Yours,
Sebastian

Sebastian,
No need to convince me that Macs are awesome, I totally agree.
"Normally" Apple works through each school some way and the discount that applies to students would also apply to staff and faculty…if nobody at your college/university has ever gotten an educational discount, then it's likely your school has had no contact with Apple. While I don't know how Apple deals with universities outside the USA in any detail, I strongly suspect that Apple will not give you a discount outside some arrangement with your school. Were I in your shoes, I think I'd try to convince my school to establish a formal relationship with Apple. If that doesn't work, you might want to approach it from the other end…find someone at Apple who is willing to establish a connection to your school. Unfortunately the only language I learnt outside of English is German…so my ability to read Apple's Columbian pages is pretty limited…and so I couldn't find any "obvious to an English speaker" links to higher-ed contacts. If you can find an Apple contact, I would strongly urge you to talk to him/her from the standpoint of your school and not from your own perspective (your enthusiasm can color your discussion with Apple, but Apple is not going to deal with your personally, only with your entire school). It's very likely that Apple is going to want to talk to someone who can speak on behalf of all your students and faculty.
I am sorry that I can't be more helpful…unfortunately this forum is dedicated to issues that relate to iTunes U site administration…I'm not sure if any of us knows the best way to put you in touch with Apple in the way that you need.

  • Does apple have program for kids and adults with learning disabilities

My daughter has learning disabilities and we were wondering if Apple has program that supports adults with disabilities. We thought that the gps function and Siri would be a wonder tool to help her if she gets lost.  We want to teach her independence and so that means letting her do things on her own. We want to get her an Iphone but have to wait untill our contract comes due. Any suggestions on who to contact at Apple?

I don't believe that Apple makes any specific programs for "people with disabilities". That is term covers such a broad range of issues! People who are blind have different needs than people with autism or people with spinal cord damage. Apple does include various accessibility options as part of the iOS.
However, just because Apple doesn't create such apps doesn't mean they don't exist. I would start be looking around the App Store (which you can do by downloading iTunes to your computer). There will no doubt be general purpose apps that can be useful as well as apps designed for specific needs. Also, contact a support group for whatever specific disabilities your daughter has. They may have a forum or blog where useful apps are discussed. Do an Internet search for apps and her specific issues.
    Best of luck.

  • Does the Design and Web Premium for students program for Mac allow multiple downloads on other Mac computers? Can this program be upgraded to be used on windows as well?

I am a university student that requires a second computer. However, I do not want to purchase a second Adobe Suite Design and Web Premium Program. Does this program allow for multiple downloads? I have a Mac laptop, and I bought the Mac version of the program, is there a way to upgrade it to use it on windows? Or will it only download on a Mac device?

Chances are your license is only for the Mac platform.
You are not really limited in the number of times you might download - just the number of installations you can have activated.  You can have activated installations on two machines, though they both have to be running the same platform.  If it is CS6 you can request a platform swap, but that doesn't sound like what you wish to do.

  • Trouble emailing photos from Aperture and iPhoto, recurrent message about severs and passwords. I use gmail, but system insists on defaulting to Apple mail. I haven't used the Apple mail program for years. What's up? Thanks

I cannot get either Aperture or iPhoto to email jpegs. I use gmail but there seems to be a problem with server selection or identification and passwords that I cannot figure out. Please note that I am not particularly competent technologically, so please use baby steps in your explanation.
    'Thank you,

Helps if you tell us the exact error message you get but you
    1. Need to select your preferred method of emailing  (Mail, iPhoto, Aperture, whatever) in the Preferenes
    2. If you're getting password not recognised messages, then delete your account from whatever email method you are using and re enter it.

I have enrolled for the apple developer program but apparently already have an account with iBooks, cant have this it seems.how do I change my iBooks account, is this the apple id for my iPad and if I change this will it cause problems accessing iTunes etc?

I guess nobody knows if the crash that occured was legitimate or not?  Apple phone support could do nothing for me, so I guess I am left to drive 45 minutes to the nearest store.

  • Can individuals (students) purchase Adobe CC (one application or all) for just a portion of the year (i.e. a semester - 1 to 4 month span)?  My students would like to purchase the program for a month at a time without making a yearly commitment.

Sure they can, just not for a student discount.

  • What is the cost of replacing a battery for an Ipad 2 in India? On asking the service centre, I was informed the entire Ipad would be replaced for 20K which is exorbitant. Is it advisable to buy the Apple protection program in this case?

What is the cost of replacing a battery for an Ipad 2 in India? On asking the service centre, I was informed the entire Ipad would be replaced for 20K which is exorbitant. The same is done in US for a paltry (comparably) 100 dollars. Is it advisable to buy the Apple protection program in this case?

  • Apple's Replacement Program for Macbook Air mid-2012

Hi everyone, I just wanted to know more about apple's replacement program for Macbook Air mid-2012. I updated the said firmware and then my mac air stops working. However, according to the program, they are replacing it free of charge. I just went to an authorized service provider here in the Philippines and I just want to know if I will be paying any. I can't find good discussions in Google. Thanks.

You should not, as the replacement program is worldwide. In case the reseller refuses to repair your Mac for free, print this website and take it with you

  • Does Apple have a trade-in program for 2009 iMac (to purchase a brand new iMac or Mac Pro?

I have an Apple iMac11,1 with 16Gb memory, 2 Tb drive, Superdrive, QuadCore 2.8 I7 processor, ATIU Radeon HD 4850 Graphics board with 512 VRam.   I'm considering a new computer (either a new i7 iMac or the MacPro desktop) and was wondering if there is a used market within this community or if Apple has a trade-in program for older iMac's.    Does anyone know?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
There's no a trade-in program, but if you recycle it, you will get an Apple Gift Card with the value of the iMac that you can use to buy a new Mac at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store > http://www.apple.com/recycling

  • Exchange program for older Apple TV units

My wife and I are proud owners of multiple Apple TV units for several years now and have always highly recommended them to friends and family as a means for watching content on existing TV sets. To our disappointment—especially with my kids—we recently discovered that YouTube functionality has been removed from all prior generations of Apple TV units. This is quite upsetting as viewing YouTube content on our TVs was a major benefit to Apple TV ownership. We now face an unfortunate decision of whether to purchase replacement devices. We hate the idea of shelling out more money just so we can gain back functionality that was taken away from existing purchases.
Can I visit my local Apple Store and exchange our current Apple TV units for newer ones?
Also, what's to stop other channels/apps from being discontinued in the future?
    - Sincerely, longtime Apple TV advocate

Unfortunately, there is no such exchange program available to you. I know it probably won't alleviate all your displeasure at the current situation, but as I understand it, it is Google that have made the decision not to support this old app and there is little that Apple can do about this.

Ask whom/wherever you got the redemption code from for one that has not already been used.

  • "made for Apple" royalties program

    Hi,
Not sure if this should be right forum for my question, but hopefully, someone from Apple will see this post and will reply.
I'm trying to find a link to "Made for apple" royalties program.
    Can anyone help????
    Tomer Eisner

I don't even knoww what the heck imap IS but I use OutLook
Express and Thunderbird on a some PCs here and Apple Mail
    on the MacPro.
I have to admit to not having much of a life and spending a
LOT of time with EMAIL. I get about about 80 to 150 mails a
day and by the end of the week I have read them all. That's
not including junk and spam mail BTW - but that's not much
    for me.
Anyway I really appreciate and use all the features of my
mail apps and love speed and robustness for file/format
handleing/display. Just so you know where I'm coming from.
Apple Mail is pretty gay. It reminds me of something free
one migh actually feel good about using on the Amiga back
in 1989. It doesn't cascade replies properly. It is MEGA
SLOW at sorting and tagging. And the tools for creating
mail are even surpassed (WAY SURPASSED!) by the abilities
of the "TextEdit" that comes with your Mac. If there is a
gay-award for bundled MacPro apps "Mail" would win.
Thunderbird (I hear) works just fine on the MacPro. I will
know first hand soon enough as I'm about to switch over to
it. On the PC it does almost everything I need it to do.
It's missing some incomming mail handeling functionality.
It has some quirks too that REALLY need to be ironed out.
Sorts are buggy (like in Apple Mail) as well. This can be
observed easliy as your custom folders start getting up to
around 50 and 100 thousand messages in them. Meaning each
of many custom folders. It's awkward to format display
lists as well as formatting messages when you're creating
    them.
Outlook Express is about the same all-in-all as Thunderbird.
Outlook is a little better than TB but like just a tiny tiny bit!
It's more stable and message editing is pretty nice.
The CFO for the co. I work for uses Endora and says it's
good but I have no expirience with it since about 1997 or
so - at which time it was really powerful compared to other
    offerings.
If endora is going to become a freebee that's great news!
    I'd go for that one.
