Apple TV 2 (2010) Wi-Fi Range/Problems - cant see my network!!
Hi - dont know if this is a general problem or not, but cant see any other posts on it anywhere!!!
I have recently set up a new ATV2 in our bedroom. When originally setting up, it found my network no problem. I even use my ipad in our bedroom and it works fine (and thats saying something!).
Anyway, apple tv set up fine. Rented a few movies ('Frozen' sucked big time!) and was happy. However, it now wont see my network for some random reason!
I have a BT home hub 2 (I know everyone says they are crappy, but it has worked fine so far!). Whats more annoying is that everything else still connects apart from the ATV2!
I have tried restarting everything and also tried turning of xbox and ALL other electrical devices in our house - but it still can't sind the network!
Anyone got any ideas aside from me sending it back to Apple??

if the BT has a spare ethernet port, you could connect ATV2 to it by way of *powerline adapters* _*such as these*_. that should would eliminate any possible interference from other wirelessless devices etc.

I have reset all network components and the Apple TV. I first set up Apple TV and it worked beautifully. The next time I turned it on it gave me the error message. I had the same problem. I just solutioned it just by disabling MAC Address filtering in my LinkSys router. This is strange as I did enter the address of my ATV3 in the list of allowed devices in the router configuration software.
The truth is that it now works! I just seems that ATV is not compatible with MAC Address filtering. -
Bluetooth range problem/mac mini
hello , i have a mac mini with the bluetooth/ airport installed. i have the mini connected to my 36 inch tv. i recently purchased an apple wireless keyboard and mouse. now as i can recall the range of bluetooth should be somewhere in the 30ft range. i was hoping to be able to sit on my couch and use this setup. now when i go more then 1 foot away from the mini with the mouse and keyboard they nolonger work. i updated everything and it still dosnt work. the mouse gets unconnected and the keyboard dosnt work then at all. can someone please help me for now i feel i have wasted my money and am going to return the mini, keyboard and mouse
I fixed this last night (Mac Mini, Late 2009). If you have upgraded your RAM there is a strong possibility that the bluetooth antenna came loose while reassemling the mini. I was very careful installing ram, but last evening when I dissassembled the mini I found that one of the bluetooth antennae was disconnected. Popped it back in, reassembled, and my reception went from 1 foot back up to the full extent of the room. If you are having range problems, take it apart (ifixit.com) and check it.

Help with puzzling wifi range problem on Macbook Pro
Hi There,
I am experiencing wifi range problems with my MacBook Pro (10.9.4).
Our wireless modem (Arris DG860) is located in the office, in the center of our home. The wifi bars register full on my Macbook and the internet works well in office.
When I move my Macbook to the lounge room, 6 steps away, my internet stops working despite wifi bars remaining full. We also have an Apple TV in the lounge room (I have airplay disconnected on Macbook). 15% of the time, I can somehow get the internet to work in the lounge room (sometimes just by disconnecting airplay),then it mysteriously stops- with wifi bars remaining full.
85% of time, the internet doesn't work at all in lounge room (still full wifi bars). Other rooms of the house that are similar distances away from modem experience the same problem. We did not experience this problem with our old Macbook pro (purchased in '09). With our old Mac we had same internet connection, modem and Apple TV.
The only place our current Macbook receives good internet connection is in the office.
We also have an iPad and two iPhone 4S'
Any suggestions anyone? TIAMost people who live in neighborhoods or apartments are not blessed with so few WiFi transmitters to contend with. There are no clear channels for most people, even assuming the user knows how to optimize their router, which most people don’t.
I would also explain that I am FCC licensed amateur radio operator K5ZN extra class. I know how radios work and how electromagnetic waves behave. Every diagnostic and symptom tells me there is some incompatibility between my MBPs radio and specifically the Comcast modem-router. In another discussion I gave some technical information about the problem which I spent several day diagnosing while using two different Comcast "Docsis 3" routers.
I have not seen this WiFi problem when using Airport or other standard routers like Linksys or Netgear. The OP didn’t say what router they are using. My suspicions tell me that Apple is moving in the direction of a very sensitive power-saving radio while ISPs are trying to blast the neighborhoods with powerful WiFi. The result is that my poor Macbook can’t get a good signal. -
I have a problem with wifi in my iphone 4s, i already try everything and download latest version 7.1(11D167) but wifi switch is not working, its my humble request to Apple support team that pls resolve this problem as soon as possible because its a prestiage of Apple Company.
Pls inform me how can i resolve the problem of wifi.You have to go to autherized iPhone agent.

Since itunes and apple tvs latest update I have had problem wtching movies on apple tv via my itunes can any one help, movie takes a very long time to load sometimes never, it use to work really well, whats going on please help?

Lots of info about one user using multiple computers. What about multiple users with separate Apple IDs using same computer? Having problems getting my wifes new iPhone talking to her apple account on the computer we share (2 users)
You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

I have two Apple ID's and it's casing problems on my contact list as it repeats the address in somecases and in others it only displays email address for a contact. I want to have the same contact list and details on all my devices (iMac, iPhone 4S & iPad Mini)? Is it possible?
By using 1 of the 2 ID's instead of both, choose one, move everything in the other one to the one you chose and stop using it.

I am unable to change or delete my iCloud ID, it is prompting sign in using an old email address that used to be my Apple ID, others have had this same problem but the answer seems to be to delete the iCloud account but I can't do that, because when I select delete account it prompts me to sign in on the old email address which doesn't exist anymore!! Please help!

This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID, verify the changes, enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

i have an apple IPhone4. I am experiencing certain problem with my iphone4. The problems are as follows a. my ear piece and proximity sensor is not working while making a call. 2. It cannot reproduce sound without earphone but rings normally if gets any call.
Can any one help me in this regard??Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches after installing new software or apps.

How can I get a better driver for my 1394b Hostcontroller in my Macbook pro 2010 to solve the problem, that it is too slow under Windows 7 installed with bootcamp ?
WIndows can't find a better one than the installed LSI Conformed 1394 HostcontrollerRead and follow the Bootcamp Installation instructions that you were offered to view when you ran Bootcamp Assistant.
Run Bootcamp Assistant again and select the option to download the Bootcamp Support software. Follow the instructions. Then boot into Windows and install the Windows Support software you downloaded and saved. -
When I delete com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist my audio/sound problems are solved. However when the file is replaced with another file, the sound is crappy and the quality is reduced. Can anyone please help me?

My MacBook Pro 17" early 2011(built March) and my new OCZ sata III 6G are not working together, when is Apple going to admit there is a problem with the Intel's 6 Series Chipset. In System Information it says "Link Speed: 6 Gigabit" which is sata III and in my MacBook Pro it does not work.
Now MacBook Pro 17" early 2011 built May onward do not have this problem it was fixed in the Intel's 6 Series Chipset. (So there is a problem). Cam I have my MacBook Pro fixed please.After biting the bullet and ordering more RAM, my computer now is working a ton better. So that must have been the main issue. With 8 GB RAM, I can now even run Parallels fluidly (better than my work PC!) where before simple things like logging in to my MBP after reboot could take forever.
The place I went to had several other people getting RAM upgrades at the same time as me, so between this and other comments I've seen in discussions here and elsewhere on the Internets, I take it to mean that either Apple should bump up the base RAM on its new machines, and/or stop charging so much for additional RAM.
I refused to believe a Pro machine bought with Lion installed would come with too little RAM for light to medium usage, but it was apparently the case. I'll mark this as a correct answer and hope some other poor soul will come across this thread and be helped by it. -

If you are referring to the first generation Apple TV, then you cannot sync content which is stored on its hard drive back to iTunes.
