Apple TV 2 won't connect to Wi-Fi - Question

I know my wi-fi password is correct, but I get an "incorrect password" error when I try to set up my new Apple TV 2.  I press menu and it goes back to the enter my password screen.  Which has been re-entered correctly.  Check my network settings is the new error message.
I press menu...
And so on a so forth.  It rotates.
And I KNOW my password is entered CORRECTLY.
Thanks for the help. I'm new at this and frustrated.

if you're use the password use the same casing
since
MySecretPassWord is diffferent then mysecretpassword
then if you have an old router which use the useless wep "encryption" that have
known issues with many ios devices

  • My Apple wireless keyboard won't connect to my Mac mini any more.

My Apple wireless keyboard won't connect to my Mac mini any more. Going through the Bluetooth Setup Assistant doesn't help - the computer finds the keyboard, but when I type in the pass code it fails to pair with it. The green LED on the bottom of the keyboard flashes twice at roughly two-second intervals. I've tried replacing the batteries and this has had no effect. I have all the latest software updates installed.

    Welcome Cheirhandrea!
There are easily hundreds of variants of the iMac dating back to 1998. Many of the pre-2006 iMacs this forum covers cannot support an Apple wireles keyboard. Because this model has been in production for so long, it is important for you to let us know as much about your computer as possible so someone won't give you information that may not be appropriate to your iMac variant.
    So we need to know:
    1) Your processor type and Mac OSX version, both available by doing "About this Mac" from your Apple menu at the left end of the menu bar:
    2) The make and model of the keyboard.
I asked for your Mac OS version because "iOS" as currently shown in your equipment profile cannot run on any Mac computer, only Apple's mobile devices. Once you get the OS version from "About this Mac," please change your profile to avoid further confusion and get help faster without the delay of someone having to ask for clarification before they can start helping.

  • IMac won't go past apple screen, keyboard won't connect

I cannot get my iMac to boot up past the apple screen with the loading circle. I would try booting up while holding the command and R keys or those other options, but my computer stopped working the one time my keyboard died and I had to change the batteries. Now it won't connect, and therefore will not register me holding down any keys. Are there any other options?

Restart the computer while holding down the C key. This will take several minutes to start up as it trying to start from the Install Disc. If you still cannot get it started call AppleCare immediately, the phone number is in your manual or you can

  • 2 apple tv's won't connect to the same network

Hi I have 2 apple tv's but they won't connect at the same time.  It's not the internet I'm running at 20.63 Mbps.  But if on atv is connected in one room the other will pick up the network and signal strength is at 5 bars but subnet mask, router and DNS all show n/a. If I go unplug the other atv it connects. What gives, any help would be much appreciated.

how would I know if there was sufficient IP addresses in the DHCP range?
Check the settings in the router.
I suspect connecting one or both via ethernet would resolve the issue.  Also, if the ATVs have the same name, that may be part of the issue.

  • Apple TV 2nd won't connect to Network -3902 Error

Can anyone help with this, got brought an Apple TV for Christmas and it won't connect to the router, it can find it, but when you put the password in, it just comes up saying:
There is a problem connecting to the internet.
Check your settings and try again (-3902)
Any help would be much appreciated

I had a bit more hassle after sending my first exultant message, as it wouldn’t connect again after power off the next day. There were a number of errors in my router config, including the wrong MAC address in my MAC filtering inclusion list (got corrupted, I think!), but couldn’t get it up even after fixing that. I then reset the Apple TV and started over, including re-entering the looong passphrase I have for my WAP2 security protocol. What a pain!
It did come back with some fantastic IP address that wasn’t even on the Internal Private Network lists (eg, 10.1.1.x, 192.168.xxx.xxx, etc), so I set the Apple TV to static mode and reset all the addresses and masks to 0. Still no luck.
Then I remembered watching my Modem stats screen and seeing that it didn’t have some of my connections listed as active in the DHCP table, even though these connections were up and running. I could get them on the table by going into the Network (Advanced) Pane in System Preferences and renewing the DHCP Lease. Of course, you can’t do that on the Apple TV. However, you can reboot your modem to refresh everything. Did that, and guess what, Apple TV came up smiling! The WAP2 Password was clearly stored somewhere, and the reboot of the modem clearly triggered a response.
That was last night (or should I say, very early morning!). I shut power off to my TV and HiFi when not using, and this also shuts off the Apple TV. I just booted both up this morning and the Apple TV came up smelling like a rose.
Hope this helps a few people.

  • Apple Wireless Keyboard won't connect under Windows

    Hi there,
I've installed XP on my MacBook Pro via BootCamp, but my wireless keyboard & mouse won't connect. XP asks about pairing verification number, and I didn't found the number. Where can I find the number?
    Thanks

    Hello:
It sounds like a Microsoft issue. Why not see if the great cloud in the sky in Washington has an answer - perhaps on their web site. The reason lies somewhere in the Windows system, I suspect.
Also, are there drivers that need to be installed in Windows (as you know, on a Mac they are plug and play)?
Additionally, here are a bunch of FAQ's that may be helpful:

  • All non-Apple Wireless Clients won't Connect to Time Capsule

I have a latest gen Apple 2TB TC (ME177LL/A) and have had it for about 14 months. I have never had any issue with it in the past and have perhaps only had to reset it twice in that 14 month span.
Came home from work last night to watch some Netflix on my PS4, and noticed my PS4 couldn't connect to the network. In the PS4 OS I kept getting errors that said either the network no longer existed or my password was incorrect. I simply tried to re-enter my password multiple times, but only once was the PS4 successfully able to connect. The one time it did connect the network speed indicated in the PS4 speed test was less than 200 kpbs. Within moments, the PS4 lost connection again. I was unable to reconnect.
At this point I figured I would just use the PS3 instead...same issue, however. Initially thought it was perhaps a PSN issue, but this time I never once could get the PS3 to connect. It repeatedly just said the network wasn't available or the password was incorrect. Went through the same troubleshooting steps that I did on the PS4 with no luck.
At this point I realized my Lyric thermostat had been erroring out and giving me a notification on my phone---the app on my phone wasn't able to connect to the Lyric via Wifi. Also noticed my August Connect was flashing red and was not connected. DirecTV Genie was not connected to my TC network either. Then went to my home office to discover my Slingbox was no longer connected either. Interestingly enough, though, my iPhone, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, wife's iPhone, and MacBook all were still connected to my TC network with no issues. I performed speed tests on all of them and all were giving me well over my 60 Gbps Internet speeds. These devices never disconnected nor had any hiccups.
Essentially determined all my non-Apple devices couldn't stay connected to the TC network.
Proceeded to just reset the TC and see what would happen. None of the non-Apple devices could connect. Same "Network not found/incorrect password"
Then proceeded to perform factory reset on TC. At the same time I unplugged my Charter internet modem from power and cat5 out. Powered on modem, waited. Then powered up TC. I did this process twice through, once with auto selected 2.4/5 Ghz channels--still had issue with devices being unable to connect. The second time through, I set up the 2.4/5 Ghz bases upon the most "open" channels as shown by iStumblr (I live in fairly large luxury apartment building that has many networks -- so there are A LOT of networks).
This time I appeared to have success. One-by-one I was able to connect all my non-Apple devices to this new network with the new SSID and credentials. All devices were able to connect and the PS3/PS4 were able to connect to PSN and I was very easily able to get Netflix.
Woke up this morning and noticed all non-Apple devices were once again not connected....really not sure what's going on. Didn't have time to dive in deeper before heading to work.
Just as an FYI, I have 2 different Macs backing up to the TC via Time Machine wirelessly (the primary reason I have a TC and not another router). Also have an Asustor AS5008T connected to the TC via round robin link aggregation. All Macs are running Yosemite. All iPhones are running iOS 8.3. Offhand, I don't know the firmware the TC is running. I made no recent changes to the network or any of the hardware.
Anybody have any idea what could be the culprit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whilst I said in my first post that apple had removed all the logs.. you can still get them via PC version 5 airport utility... you will need to plug in via ethernet since wireless is not working. You can also install v5 utility into a Mac but I cannot tell you how. Google it.
The other method.. and I am not at all sure if it is useful or not.
Using the airport utility in an ipad.. click on the TC, then edit.. then advanced.. Diagnostics and Usage Data.
Go into this and you will see the Airport utility has got a stack of info out of the TC..(for secret transmission to apple).
    eg
I guess it is comparison between normal functionality and when it fails that will show something interesting.. meaning you will need to track the info... and it is not so easy to get it out other than as a screenshot..

  • My ipod is stuck on the apple logo and won't connect to itunes

So hey guys, I tried doing everything to fix my unresponsive/frozen ipod touch 4th generation, but nothing seems to work. I remember the last time it worked was when I was restoring it but then I did the thing where you would hold the power and menu button which got me stuck to the apple logo (when it boots up) Now nothing works because I tried resetting and I can't restore because my ipod doesn't seem to be recognized by itunes but yet it charges. My last hope would be either return this or get an answer from one of you guys. Thanks!

    - I would try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then see if iTunes will see the iPod.  try both with the iPod not connected to the computer and with it connect. For recovery mode see:

apple tv 2 not connecting to wifi.  It can find the network but when I go to put in my password it says its wrong.  I have two other devices already hooked up and running so i know this isn't right. help. im using a Telus Actiontec router. When I go to reset my setting it freezes. Someone help please

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • Apple TV 2 Won't connect to iTunes 11

I have the Apple TV 2 and am running iTunes 11 on two different computers. Home Sharing is enabled on all devices and everything is running on the same network with all software up to date.
If I start a movie on the computer in iTunes then have it stream with airplay, it will play perfectly fine on the Apple TV but when I try to access the movies to browse and play from the Apple TV without getting up and using the computer it doesn't show the computers on the main menu and when I select "Computers" on the main menu it says "Connecting to iTunes Library" for a minute or two then I get a screen that says "Cannot connect, make sure everything is on, updated and running on the same network."
This is getting really frustrating when I want to browse my movies from bed but instead have to go sit at the desk and select a movie to play. I never had this issue before the most resent updates.

    Lisa,
I have pretty much the same problem.  My Mac (7 days old) was working with the Apple TV just fine but tonight it will not do AirPlay nor will Apple TV play home share with the Mac either. Rebooting has no effect.  Same error you are getting.   When I try to play music (AirPlay) it is weak and intermittent at best and often simply does not play at all.
My ASUS laptop still works just fine as normal so Apple TV seems to be working just fine.   Now I am wondering why I spent so much money on the Mac.

  • Apple Remote Desktop won't connect to 2 computers

I have a class- 30 computers- I have 2 computers that will not allow me to connect via Apple Remote. I have tried everything that I know of to try to connect to these two computers. My school district will not allow me to get into the File Sharing folder of the System Preferences, so I have to try a different way.
I have scanned, deleted IP address, added by IP address.... tried everything I know how to do... dynamite is now being loaded in my car to bring up here. -joke...
The current status said "Access denied" for the longest time on my monitoring screen. I deleted Remote application on these computers and re-installed it. At least now... it says "ARD NOT ACTIVE"...so I think I might be getting somewhere.
Two other quick things... the other 28 computers in my classroom show the Mac OS version 10.4.8(8L2127) and the machine model on my monitoring screen, while my non-functioning computers do not display this information. I tried Bonjour, IP address, and network address and so on.
If there is anyway to get around this other than File Sharing... please help.
For some reason, all the other computers have always worked, but these two have a poltergeist or something.

Same problem here. I manage several remote Macs, but I have one MacBook which I can get no ARD access to (black icon). I can ping the IP, I can SSH into the MacBook, the ARD and Remote Login services are checked ON, the firewall is OFF. The ARD service is configured to allow my admin user full access - however, I get nothing. I have no trouble getting into the other Macs.
    Any ideas?

  • HT1595 Entered wrong password for Wifi and now Apple Tv (2nd) won't connect to wifi.

I got a new router and entered the password for it.  I got it up and running before realising that I needed to change the password to my own personal one.  Now I dont know how to change it on the apple Tv.
I've done all the normal things:  restarted router, restarted apple tv, etc.  Need some help.

    Hi,
after changing the wep code on my router, I had trouble resetting the configuration on my appletv.  If you select your router from the available networks list, it uses the stored wep code, which of course no longer works.
to specify a new one, while appletv is trying to connect to that router you need to quickly hit the menu button on your appletv remote.  You will then be prompted to enter a new wep code.
hope this helps people with this problem in the future.
