Apple TV and new apple keyboard not paring

Heelo I have a Apple TV (3rd. Gen. - MD199LL/A - iOS 6.02) and I got a new Apple Wireless Keyboard (A1314).
The keyboard works fine with iPhone 5 (iOS 7.0.4) and my Mac Retina (OS X 10.9).
I parried and unparreid from iPhone and Mac to test.
Even with only the Apple TV turned on it cannot find the keyboard. I follow every step from the apple suport tutorial, and tried some hints that I found on internet.
The keyboard have new batteries ans is just a some inches from the apple TV. I tryied to turn off (even from the cable) the apple TV, did the same wih the keyboard and batteries (I check if they are in the right position) and I put the keyboard in discovery mode (blinking green led).
Could someone help me?
Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Standard or Pro would be licensed through your serial number, the download link and downloaded file would be the same for both of them.
Pro or Standard would be determined after you put in your serial number.

  • New Apple Keyboard not compatible??

I was looking to purchase a new Apple Keyboard (wired) for a G4 Powerbook but the system requirements say the machine must have OS 10.5 or higher. Is this true? The Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad only requires 10.4.
I wouldn't have thought that a keyboard would not be compatible with a G4.

You can go to the System Preferences --> Keyboard and Mouse and check "Use F1, F2 etc keys..." and F7 and F8 will work.
But I don't know where the function key is on those new keyboards.

  • Apple keyboard not working after installing new monitor

Yesterday I installed a new monitor - HP EliteDisplay E231i - to my Late 2013 Mac Pro.  Previously I had been using super old apple monitors.  My apple keyboard was working great - I had it plugged into the new monitor itself.  I shut down the computer last night. This morning, the Mac Pro won't recognize my keyboard no matter what I do. I tried plugging it into every possible USB port on the tower and on the monitor. Restarted it after moving it each time. I'm currently typing with a Microsoft keyboard, which is working fine.  I tried the keyboard in 2 other laptops (macbook pro) and it works fine.  Is this a bug specific to the monitor??  I've been running Yosemite 10.10.2 since the last update, and I've had no issues till I switched the monitor out and tried to start the computer after shutdown.
Details: Mac Pro (Late 2013), Yosemite 10.10.2, 32 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 ECC, AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB
    Anyone know what's going on?

  • Keys on Apple keyboard not working

    Hi Apple Folks
I don't know why some keys of my iMac keyboard stop working after not using the iMac Mid 2007 for a while.
It is a Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, still looks like brand new. There is no any physical damage to the keyboard, the iMac and the keyboard just left there not in use for two years.
The bad keys are ESC, TAB, CAPS LOCK, DELETE , \, and RETURN of the character keys area, also the 0 on keypad. All the other keys work perfectly as they were.
Per an Apple KB article, i have confirmed these bad keys by using the Keyboard and Character Viewer of OS X.
Any hints to fix the keys please?
    Kind regards,
    B

OK, do some very basic resets of your system. The first two you may need to do 3x as they don't always work the first time. For instructions click Intel iMac SMC and PRAM resets
If those do not work then restart in Safe Mode and then restart normally.

  • Apple keyboard not working w Iogear KVMP 1644 switch

I have a new Apple keyboard that I am attempting to integrate it into my music setup.  It's an Iogear GSC1644 4-Port Dual View Dual Link DVI KVMP Switch with Audio.  I have a newer (2012) Apple keyboard that I plugged into my setup and it does not work.  It is the same model A1243 as my 2008 Apple keyboard which still works except for 2 keys, the 'Z' and the 'option' keys.  I plug it in and nothing - it's like it is not seen. HOWEVER >>>>  when I plug it indirectly to the computer - no problem.    These Apple keyboards look identical, they are the same model.  I have changed USB cables at every connection - I cannot get it to work.  I powered down the Iogear GCS1644 per directions from their support desk: this included disconnecting every device and unplugging the power supply and leaving it unplugged for at least 10 minutes.  I left it unplugged for over an hour.  Then plugged the 4 computers back in, powered on the unit, and only powered on one computer - it still did not work.  The older Apple keyboard works perfectly - nothing changed.  I am at a loss.
What can this be?  Is there a major difference between the two Apple Keyboards even though they carry the same model number?  And - barring a quick and simple fix - are there any other older Apple Keyboards out there?  If not Apple, are there any other keyboards with a similar small footprint like the Apple that might work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Are you connecting the keyboard to the keyboard-specific USB port on the back of the unit, as opposed to the front port or the hub on the back?
I have a 4-port DVI IOgear KVM. I have never had a problem with the keyboard not being recognized, although booting through the KVM doesn't allow use of the various "boot" keys (option, S, T, etc.). I have to plug a keyboard directly into the computer for that. The other issue I have had is that the front USB port was always somewhat unreliable, and after a year or two just seemed to conk out.
I am using an older Kensington Slim type keyboard that was discontinued several years ago. I haven't tried the Apple keyboard that came with my 2010 Mac Pro, but will try to do so, just to see if there is an issue.
There may very well be some slight difference between the 2008 and the newer keyboards. With luck, someone here will know.
Is your Mac Pro a 2013 model?

  • Apple keyboard not recognized while installing WinXP

I posted my WinXP Pro installation problems earlier in this forum but I think having recognized the problem: When Bootcamp boots the machine from the WinXP-CD, it seems that my USB-keyboard (tried both: aluminium and old white plastic) is not recognized, meaning that I cannot input anything to tell the Win installer to proceed. The symptom I see is that the green light of the caps lock key is not there. This probably means that the keyboard is not connected as it should be. Could it be that this is due to the OS 10.5.6 Update? On earlier machines and with earlier versions of Leopard I did not have this problem.
    Please advise.

Same here until my partner provided her usual keen insight - use a Windows keyboard!
Until you have completed the WinXP installation and then re-inserted your OS X/Mac Install CD 1, Windows can only establish comms with a Windows-specific keyboard, not a Mac-specific keyboard. The Win USB Mac-keyboard drivers contained in Boot Camp are not installed until you start up the OS X/Mac Install CD 1....
Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 worked for me (~£20). Will probably continue using this when running WinXP for any extended period; saves having to learn new key combinations.
BTW: I found that once WinXP was installed, downloading and installing the drivers contained in Boot Camp 2.1 from the Apple website greatly improved both control (eg Nvidia driver) and responsiveness of WinXP.
Hope you (all) find this useful; thanks are due entirely to my partner, bless her.

  • Apple keyboard not working with iPad

I recently bought an Apple Bluetooth keyboard to use with my iPad and the first day it worked fine but then the next day it wouldn't work at all except to let me put in my pass code, search things on the iPad, and bring the keyboard up and down with the eject key. I know there weren't any restrictions on the apps because I used it without an issue on Notabilty and Chrome along with others before. I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting and forgetting the keyboard and pairing again but nothing is working. To test it I paired it with my phone and it worked fine so I have to assume its something specific to the iPad. The keyboard is the latest edition and is the one that is compatible with the iPad. If anyone could help it would be really appreciated!

Have you tried resetting the iPad?
Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

  • Numeric Pad on Apple Keyboard not working with 12" PB

Hi, I'm having a problem with my Apple Keyboard and 1.5 GHz PowerBook G4 12". When I attempt to use the numeric keypad on the external keyboard, no numbers are printed displayed. Originally I though the keyboard was broken and had Apple replace it. However, the problem still persists. Any help would be amazingly appreciated.

Ya, I have the same issue. The Clear key is reported to be the numlock but it doesn't help.
The Keyboard Layout shows the keys are being depressed.

  • Wired Apple Keyboard not recognized in Win 7 64x bootcamp partition

I installed a bootcamp partition on an iMac late 2012 i5 running 10.8.3 following the Bootcamp instructions.  Windows 7 64x installed fine.  My wireless Apple keyboard and magic mouse work fine.  However, when I plug in my previous Apple wired keyboard from my 2008 iMac, Windows doesn't recognize it, keyboard doesn't work, and the USB ports on the keyboard don't work.  Called Apple support and they said to call Microsoft.  MS said they didn't have an answer.  Anyone else have this issue and any success resolving it?  Would really prefer to use the wired keyboard for gaming and the numeric keypad.

Sorry - also meant to say that I had Win 7 x32 installed in a bootcamp partition on my previous 2008 C2D iMac and the wired keyboard worked fine.

  • Apple Keyboard (not wireless) cable length

    Hi,
which length has the USB-cable on the Apple Keyboard (with numeric keypad)? Standard 1.8m or more ?
    Thanks,
    EmmKay

You asked about the cable on the keyboard, and that's about 0.8 meters. If you want the length including the USB extension cable, then yes, that would be about 1.8 meters.
It's helpful if you are precise in asking your question. Then we can give you the most appropriate replies.
    Regards.

  • Apple keyboard not pairing with iMac

My wireless keyboard was working fine just until 2 weeks ago when I went out of town for a couple of weeks (and it has worked fine for over 2 years now).  Now it is giving me problems pairing with my iMac.  I've gone through all the support discussions and I've tried everything.
I uncoupled the device from the computer because it was not connecting and have tried connecting it ever since and nothing seems to work.  The computer seems to "find" the keyboard but won't connect to it.
I have pushed down the power button the entire time during pairing process as suggested by some people with the problem on the discussion boards and that doesn't do it either.   While occasionally the computer will see the keyboard, it just does not seem to want to connect to it.  The green light comes on for a bit when I hold the power key down (or even when I just push it once) and then goes off.  It never blinks i.e. it doesn't seem like it's going into pairing mode at all.
This is really confounding.  Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.  I'm already 3 hours in the whole trying to fix this.

    Thanks Barry.
I had already deleted the KB from the bluetooth preferences and it was discoverable, so no idea why it wasn't working.
However, eventually what ended up working was that I turned the iMac off, I took the keyboard to work (i.e. away from anywhere near the iMac's vicinity) and then when I brought it back at the end of the day, the green light suddenly started blinking again and the iMac discovered the KB.   I don't know how these things are designed but apparently, you need to take the KB out of the range of the device it was formerly paired with EVEN IF you have deleted the device from the bluetooth preferences.  Otherwise, somehow, the pairing is still remembered and the device is not recognized.
If this happens again, next time, I'll try your reset SMC suggestion.  thanks for your help.

  • Magic mouse and aluminum wireless keyboard not working in windows 7

Aluminum wireless keyboard (fully upgraded firmware as of 2/19/2010) not working, or magic mouse. Both from Apple Store, not amazon or ebay.
No error shown for magic mouse, only "connecting to device" for 15 minutes now.
With keyboard, at times it shows an error, but sometimes it lets me type a passkey. It doesn't recognize the passkey although it's saying it's paired, it doesn't work.
    Help?

Getting Bluetooth set up initially in Bootcamp is a bit of a hit and miss affair in my experience, but persistence pays off, and connection is reliable. I gave up with the keyboard on my Mac Pro at one stage, tried again a few days later and it worked.
    How did you do it?
Persistence and repetition, reading lots of threads and getting snippets from various sources, can't recall any silver bullets.
Have you searched this forum, there are a LOT of posts on the subject.
Links please? I can't find any.
If you type "bluetooth" in the search box while at the top level of the Bootcamp section you will get six pages of hits. Here are just a few, not necessarily the best or a complete list or in any particular order, but they contain relevant info.
I can't remember the detail now but one of the key steps for me was launching the bluetooth "service" mentioned in some of these links. Initially option wasn't appearing at all. Also mine (and others) seems to need a single click after boot to be activated. If you try and move it before a click it won't respond so you might think it wasn't working.
BTW I am assuming you have successfully installed the Boot Camp 3.1 drivers?
