Apple TV audio will not connect to Airplay when mirroring

I have a 2011 MBP running the latest OS. I just installed Apple TV and was looking to pair the video with my Airplay sound system. I want to mirror my display from my MBP while playing sound through the Airplay speakers. Any suggestions?

Is the light on the front of ATV blinking? Does it work on any other TV's?

Troubleshooting AirPlay

When I launch iTunes on the PC, iTunes will not connect to Airplay speakers. Only after a new start of iTunes a connection is established.

Thank you for the suggestion, but the 'clean' install of iTunes (which I did twice) didn't do the trick.

I spoke with Apple Care, who was also stumped. They think it might be a hardware issue (but were probably just giving up on working with me because it was free service/I haven't paid the $50). Still seems awfully coincidental that my Airport (1st Gen - about 4 years old) would stop being able to stream music through iTunes simultaneously with the iTunes update...

people repport that apple products in general I believe have problems with support for the outdated encryption type called wep encryption which is also pretty useless and easy to break
if you use that try disabling it or changing to wpa encryption
if you use MAC address filtering in your router then you need to add the appletv's MAC address to the positive list

After recent apple update MBP will not connect to wireless internet

After running recent Security and Airport upgrades my Mac Book Pro (Intel) will not connect to wireless home router supplied by Verizon (GTE) and several public wi-fi's. Cannot get IP but sees networks. My iMac PPC still works fine. Prior to upgrade everything worked fine at home and abroad to other public wi-fi's. MBP still connects at work with AppleBase wireless. Can the upgrade be removed? Is there a simple fix? Should I wait for apple to fix this and break something else.... If not broken don't fix it..

I'm having similar issues.
I have 2 MBP's. The newest one is about 1 month old and has never been able to connect to a WPA network. The older MBP is 20 months old and was originally installed with Tiger and gradually updated via Software Update and a retail copy of Leopard and subsequent Software Update updates to 10.5.2. Interestingly, this MBP was always able to access my WPA network until I decided to do an erase and install. I installed the retail copy of Leopard and was subsequently unable to access my WPA network. So, I went back to my Tiger install disks - but I'm guessing that whatever Leopard did *possibly* updated the firmware of the airport card as, even under Tiger, I could not access my WPA network (yes, I agree it seems unlikely that an OS update would/should update firmware but I am grasping at straws).
Trying to further understand the problem , I noted that the Network utility in System preferences would always show either a connection error or a connection timeout whenever I attempted to join my WPA network. I turned on syslog in my router and attempted to rejoin the network and saw the following errors:

Strongly suggesting that the MBP is not completing the WPA handshake.
Any ideas as to where my investigations could progress? (The router manufacturer tells me that the WPA timeout handler is not configurable on the router).

My Bluetooth keyboard (model A1314) was connected to my Macbook. I was away on a trip and now it will not connect. A message comes up saying "error connecting to device". I have tried everything that I can think of - replaced the batteries, removed the keyboard from the Bluetooth list.
I would be grateful for some advice please!

IPhone 4G will not connect to router when SSID is not broadcasting

I was able to setup my WiFi connection for the iPhone using WPA2 Security and MAC address filtering. But when I disable SSID Broadcasting on my router, the iPhone does not see the network. If I broadcast the SSID on the router then the iPhone will connect automatically.
I have an iPad that automatically connects to the network when the SSID is not being broadcasted on the router. Why can't the iPhone connect to a saved network that is not being broadcasted? Every other device including the iPad can connect to the router when the SSID Broadcast is disabled.

Oridnarily, any equipment should not see the network when SSID disabled, since the router is not broadcasting its SSID. So you have you to connect to it manually if and only if you know the SSID (part of little added security) and the password.
However, when you connect that SSID becomes visible (if someone is sniffing) since the client (your phone) has broadcasted the SSID. Only a dedicated network sniffer can see the network without SSID (it will look like NULL string) but obviosuly cannot connect without SSID and password.
I have similar setup with LINKSYS WRT160N and there is no need to reboot the router. I noticed that when the Iphone goes to sleep it forgets the network and I have to enter everything all over again. However, this is not the case on my other WM phone. My Nintendo WII will remember it as long as it is not switched off, then I will have to enter the credentials all over again.
The fact that it connected with previous router, suggest to me that the router was still broadcasting where it should not. Thats is the whole idea of disbaling SSID, not to let other others see your network (except sniffers). If they do, it will be with no name.

Skygo content will not display on TV when mirror function enabled

my skygo content will not display on my TV when I stream from my iPad and have mirror function enabled. It will stream other video content. I get a message that HDMI out is not supported by the application and a black screen. I do hear the sound of the program being streamed. Can the block be overcome?

I Believe the sky app blocks Airplay.

My iPad mini, mac book, iPhone and my old iPad 2 are telling me I am mirroring and playing through my Apple TV but it is not showing up my Apple TV, it just stays as the apple tv home screen. I know there is nothing worse than hearing the power down and restart which is always said but.....
Power down and restart, then disconnect your Apple TV from your wireless network, (not turn your wireless network off, but actually reconnect your ATV to the network. Try again.

As Murphy always does, I went back and followed, VERY CLOSELY, the instructions for re-pairing the remote. And guess what, it works now! A Christmas miracle? I doubt... just good 'ole Apple technology. Anyway, the remote works!

MBP will not connect to internet when it wakes

Howdy, I am running a new MBP with Lion and recently have started having a problem. I close the lid put it to sleep come back later and safari says i have no internet. Network diagnostics says there is not a problem, my wifi shows that it's connected to my router, my iPad connects so I know it's not the router or my ISP. Eventually, (usually 5 min or so) BAM!!! suddenly it connects like nothing ever happened, and runs like a champ until the next time it goes to sleep. Any ideas out there from the Mighty Mac Gods? I have the same problem, same test with iPad and router. It takes about 1 min to connect. This is actually a new problem for me, my 2011 MBP running Lion was fine a few weeks ago so it has to be a software update. Very annoying.
