That's hard to say.
General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as MAC Data Recovery, Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

When I plug in apple tv the status light just blinks amber and nothing appears on the screen

When I plug in my apple tv (first gen) the status light just blinks amber and nothing appears on the screen. The status light never turns white and won't stops blinking amber. I've tried to over ride this with the remote, resetting it and trying to revert it to the factory settings. Is there a way to wake it up or is it a lost cause?

The system looks like it's unable to start up, this could be software but more likely hardware, either way unless it will start up there is nothing a user can do to resolve this.

Hi, had the same problem -
1) Connected AE to Time Capsule with Ethernet cable - Configured it - All worked fine
2) Removed Ethernet cable between AE og TC - All worked fine
3) Unpluged my AE from the socket outlet (power off) and pluged it inn where its supposed to be (2m from my Time Capsule)
4) Now Airport Utility do not find me AE (after all i reconfigured through the Etheret calbe) ????
A) Seems that Airport Utility are not able to "see" any wireless AE, only configurable by Ethernet Cable.
B) Seems that AE are not able to reconnect to configured network after a power loss.
This is a little bit ****** - older airport utility had none of the problems (A and B)

HT2497 I just purchased the 2TB TC and set it up on bridge mode to my att verse which is connected via ethernet cable. The TC is continually blinking amber and an error message states that a wireless network cannot be found but the uverse is functioning

What OS on the computer you are using to setup the TC?
Did you turn on ipv6 for wireless to link-local... this is essential for network access now??
Try power cycling the network.. start up in correct order.. uverse.. 2min wait.. TC.. 2min wait.. computer.
No luck factory reset and start over. Use ethernet cable as well to the computer to help it.
No luck I can show you manual method.

Dear all,suddenly my readerstarted to blink black and white pages for 2 hours. Hints to stop it?

I was reading the book. Suddenly the screen went black. After I tried all the buttons it started to blink black and white screed and it is doing it already for a couple of hours.
No reaction from any button.
Any hints how to stop it? Is it out of order forever?

Don’t forget to recharge ebook reader device after.
The issue is due to:
-low battery
-and/or a problem with the ebook’s file (not perfectly compatible)
-and/or many “orders” (tap on screen, press buttons and probably low battery) while reader prepares a new page.

Time capsule blinking amber and my wireless network has vanished after factory reset

I have an Apple Macbook aluminum body with a Motorola cable modem hooked up to the Time Capsule which acts as my router. After turning the power off in my home, the internet has not been working. The light on the TC was green, but I had no internet because Airport had a "self-assigned" IP address and may not be able to connect to the internet. Then, I decided to do a hard reset and restore my setting to factory. The light on the TC is blinking amber. When I go into Airport Utility, it gives me this message: "Airport Utility was unable to find any Airport wireless devices". On top of all this, when I did the hard reset, my wifi network is not on the list of Airport networks in my range. It has completely disappeared. I have all the wires connected properly to the router and TC. Please help, this scenario is very frustrating.

If you performed a factory default reset, the TC is now broadcasting a wireless network with a name like Apple Network xxxxxx, where the "x" could be either a letter or number.
You must first log on to this wireless network (there is no security or password) and establish a connection.
Then, if the TC was reset properly, you will be able to open AirPort Utility and re-configure the TC.
When you click Update to save your configuration settings, the TC will "dsiappear" from AirPort Utility. This is normal. Close AirPort Utility and wait for the TC to restart.
Then log on to the "new" wireless network that you named during the configuration.

My iphone went dead and now has the apple logo blinking on and off

my iphone 4 went dead and now has the apple logo is slow blinking on and off when it's plugged into my computer. I cannot stop it. Tried a hard restart but nothing happened.

Doesn't start, Apple logo blinks on and off.

My iPod Classic won't start. There's just a pale image of the Apple logo which blinks on and off. Plugging it into various USB ports has no effect.

Okay, here's something I found out: charging it with a power adapter instead of via the USB cable worked.
Question: why would charging it with the USB connection not work?

Everything I see in Apple TV is black and white

I have recently bought the Apple TV with the Airport extreme which worked perfectly until I went to listen to videos and movies.
Everything I see is in black and white. Even the main menu is.

Are you saying it was in colour until you tried playing back movies etc? If so, then it may be a fault on the TV or AppleTV - doy you have a friend or relative with a component enable TV to test the AppleTV on? Also check your TV manual to see if theer are any adjustable settings for the component input.
If it's never been in colour:
Firstly the specs for the TV say it has one component input - these should be coloured red/green/blue (if not are they labelled anything else) and located at the back of the TV or at the side from the picture.
I assume you are not connecting to the AV input (yellow/red/white) at the front (it has been done before).
Assuming all connections are secure and correct try changing the resolution in the Settings menu in case this is too high for the TV and it does 'half a job' and shows things in Black and White.

I experienced today a white and amber blink on my apple tv. I cant get any signal on my tv, or connection via the remote.
Tried to hold down - and menu for reboot + << and menu for pairing the remote but no connection.
How do I go aobout restore factory settings now?

Welcome to the  Discussion Forums.
Restore is achieved by holding down menu & - until the amber light starts blinking and then selecting 'restore'. You say you have tried this to no avail.
menu & + are for the video mode, is there any chance you have changed the video mode by mistake. (you need to use + & - to navigate the video modes once you have held down menu & + for 6 seconds.
If you are still unable to progress try pulling every cord out of the tv and leaving it 30 seconds before powering up again.
If non of these things work, take it back to .

Why does my Apple monitor blink off and on?

Laptop and additional monitor:
MacBook Pro late 2009 running Lion 10.7.5, updated
LED Cinema display, 24 inches, Late 2008 NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 graphics
The LED display started flashing off & on (to black -- it's not the alert flash, which is turned off in sys prefs). Changing monitor resolution did not fix it. Shutting down and re-seting the video cable plug did not fix it. The laptop display is not affected.
I restarted and reset PRAM multiple times. The on-off blinking continued for several minutes while I started to research the issue. Now, as I am writing this, I realize the blinking stopped after about five minutes or so.
What might be going bad?

My 30" monitor does the same thing with my Mac Pro. Did the same thing about a year ago and then stopped doing it. Now, it's starting to flash on and off again. Connections are all tight. I think it's a "warm-up" thing? But, why did it stop doing it for so long and now just started doing it again? Stops flashing on and off after about a 10-minute warm up period.

Apple TV LED blinking amber non-stop, no video, no audio

As described in the header, my Apple TV (120GB) has its LED blinking amber non-stop, no video, no audio. It is about 2 months old and I have never had issue with it before.
The manual says this indicates that it is starting up, but I can tell you, it is not starting up.

Is the light only blinking amber? White and amber mean bigger problems. See what apple says.

If all you are getting is a bad booting, try running a diagnostic.

Also, if you give it a reboot (unpluging), leave it unplugged for a good 30 seconds to a minute. I bet there could still be power to the logic board, and you need to let the internal led bleed it dry otherwise the internal memory can cause some problems.

Airport express loses connection and blinks amber until restarted many times a day.

I have an AirPort Extreme as my,main router with a gen 1 airport express and 2 gen 2 express as range extenders to cover all 3 floors and outdoor area. I have an Insteon HUB connected to one 2nd generation express and an Insteon IP camera that is on the far edge of the WiFi coverage area. About 3-5 times daily, the express will blink amber and lose connection. I need to either restart the network from airport utility or just unplug and restart the specific express. This fixes the problem but only temporarily. Why does this occur? Is it due to the wireless camera losing connection? It seems to occur when I try to access the camera or devices thru the Insteon App. I have purchased the additional express thinking it was a poor connection to the other range extender but this has made no difference. I have been on tech support with Insteon for many hours,and they are unable to help. Any suggestions?

Every few minutes, it seems to temporarily lose its connection to the internet and start flashing amber until it reconnects. It's extremely annoying. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it an airport problem, or a cable modem problem?
It could be either or neither ...
It is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference in the immediate area that is preventing you from getting a good clean signal, and what I would check for first.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like the following to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible:
o MacStumbler, or
o iStumbler
