Apple TV can not sign in to itunes

everything else is set up however when i sign in with my apple ID it says either login or password is incorrect when i just downloaded a song on itunes with the exact same info

It's a straightforward port-forwarding issue.
You need to forward ports to the internal ip address of your apple tv as follows:
TCP 123
TCP 3689
UDP 5353
TCP 80
TCP 4343
TCP 53
This may also solve other problems you may have with homesharing...

    I authorized my laptop tonight and downloaded itunes without moving over my music via the Ipod only the purchased songs. I then logged out and went back to my desktop only to be told I could not since I am using the account elesewhere even though I logged out of the store and exited the program. Now I can not sync my Ipod on my desktop where all my playlist are located.

    Go back to the laptop and log in and out.
    By the way, there is no need to log into the store to sync your iPod.

    Your ID seems to be used to connect to an icloud account.  You can also use the ID for a new itunes store account - but are you sure you want to change that store account?  Any purchased songs, apps, movies, etc. using an old ID will be removed from your device.  This is because any purchased item is forever associated with the ID used to purchase it.  If you have purchased things in the past using some other ID, you should consider keeping that old ID for the itunes store and use the new ID for icloud.

    this does NOT work which is why i am contacting you. i have tried all suggestions about unplugging and restarting and nothing works.
    i live in an apartment and logon to the provided wifi wireless. so i do not have access to a router. however, management says they have talked with their provider and have been assured that the required ports are available.
    remember all the jokes about how bad windows was because the solution was always to re boot. funny huh? how is apple any different.
    i have been to the local apple care store and they are clueless, too.
    should we just end it here and you admit that i will not be getting any support from apple on this one? i got the ipad because my kids were such big fans. it is difficult for me to share their enthusiasm.
    at this point i am just curious about how you say you cannot support your own product so i can complete my file on this contact.

If I try another card no then it shows that your payment method is declined. What should I do?????

    Is it asking for a PIN (for a debit card) or the three-digit number on the back of the card (for a credit card)?

    I recently changed my email address and want to change my Apple ID account to match. I have created a new Apple ID to match the new account but now I can't sign into iCloud on our phones or computer with the old Apple ID. I can't make any changes on iCloud on our phones because it directs me to the old account, which I can't sign into. I also can't sign me in on my computer to make any changes. Help!!!     I was able to sign into iTunes, but when attempting to download a song I received error code 5002 and to try back later. Now I Can not sign into ITunes at all and am still getting the code 5002. I've changed my credit card info via store.apple.com but this did not fix the problem. ran diagnostic check and everything is fine. Is this a problem on their end?

    I fixed this error for my daughter after a while by working out that the address in her login profile was a different country from the iTunes and App store that she was logging into...
    I also blogged about it to try to help others as this took out a good 6 hours of my Christmas evening trying to set up my kid's MBP.

    Not sure, but iAd Producer probably has nothing to do with this.

    I've been having this problem for weeks and have found no solution to it. There are lots of other people with this issue too if you look back on the boards. I even e-mailed AND called Apple and have had no luck. I tried all the suggestions they gave me and all the ones I found on here- nothing worked. I even uninstalled and re-installed iTunes (boy was that a pain!) and no difference.
    The weird part is that I have an old laptop that works and if I buy music with the laptop I can download it with my regular computer buy buying does not work on my regular computer. That tells me it's not a connection issue. I can't get to my account either.
    I can't figure out why an issue that has kept so many people from purchasing a product has been ignored!

    I have also noticed the same "problem".  I do not fully understand the impact of using the same ID on multiple computers and devices if I want to keep them all in sync.

    I was having this problem and was able to fix it by going to system preferences and adding my @me email address as an additional apple id - then I signed on to facetime using that sign on info and it worked.  Good luck.as

  • TS1368 itunes on my new alienware laptop acts as if the computer is not connected. (which it is) can not sign in with my itunes username and password. itunes help even pops up with "your computer is not connected to the internet"....

    so in other words, I can NOT sign in on my account, much less authorize this laptop. can't even access help.  have downloaded the latest itunes software, checked my firewall settings etc.... (the itunes help window even opens up with "itunes help is unavailable because your computer is not connected to the internet".  granted I am basically computer illiterate, in other words if something isnt working my knowledge is pretty limited with tweaking things.     On an Alenware laptop, this issue is often older drivers on the Bigfoot networking card.
    Head to the drivers and downloads page for your model of Alienware at Dell. Check for newer versions of the drivers for your Bigfoot card. If you're behind and you update, can you get through to the Store (or Help) now?
