Apple tv cant see my itunes match songs, apple tv cant see my itunes match songs

I've set up itunes match on my desktop.  Looking at the icloud status of each track its either matched or uploaded.  On my iphone I can see all my itunes match tracks but on my apple tv, it says no songs found.
Any ideas?  I was thinking to reset all setting on the apple TV and set it up again.
(Iphone 4 and apple tv both on latest versions of software)
Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have a PC at work and a Mac at home. Both run Itunes under same Apple ID account.  Each computer's itunes library is common by around 75% of the songs.  How can I sync both computers to a common song library, so that all songs can be updated for both computers?  Will ITunes Match do that?

I solved this by reset of the Wifi (unplug cable and power to both modem and wifi ... wait 60 sec ... plug in modem cable and power ... plug in wifi power and LAN to modem ... restart AppleTV and Mac ... Turn Home Share 'OFF' in iTunes then back "ON" ... it took ~60 sec for the AppleTV to pick up my Mac in computers.

Finally achieved my fix by changing channels on my Billlion router to 11, and not letting the ATV sleep.  Give it a try, I spent a good four frustrating weeks until I did this.

when i try to retrieve the songs into my library it says that my computer is connected with another apple id and that i have to wait 90 days. Do I have to wait to be able to retrieve my songs that I purchased? Do I have to wait all the time when I purchase songs from itunes? Its driving me crazy that I bought these songs and are not able to listen to them on my other apple products. Such as my ipod nano 4th generation, and my iphone 4. Your help is appreciated, thank you.

    Hey renie1515,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
When you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. This article describes how to manage these associations.
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4627
Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90-day timer. You must wait 90 days from the day the device was first associated with your Apple ID before it can be associated with another Apple ID.
    Have a nice day,

In that case, might be a good idea to uninstall iTunes (and all Apple related software) then re-install.

  • I cant see all my itunes movies on Apple TV

I have recently updated both itunes and AppleTV. Previously I could simply go to my appleTV use the computers tab search the menu and pull up my entire library of movies in Itunes. Now I can only see the movies purchased through itunes. So now I have to use Airplay, which is slow (if it works at all) and I'm pretty disappointed. Is their a way of going back with the software updates and actually using the network to watch movies.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Have you looked under home videos for these movies.

  • Should I synch songs to my iPad or use iTunes Match?

I have a new iPad with 64gb and a 30gb song collection. I am also an iTunes Match subscriber. I was wondering whether I should synch my music collection to my iPad or simply turn on the iTunes Match feature on my iPad and transfer the songs that way? I really don't care about using up the 30gb on my iPad because the memory I have left over is more than enough for my personal needs.
The way I see it is that I would be better off manually synching the songs over to my iPad instead of using the iTunes Match method via the cloud. This is because I understand that many people have issues/problems with losing song info and album art when they do it by turning on the iTunes Match feature.
If hard drive space isn't an issue, would I be better off manually synching the songs to my iPad? My main goal is to transfer the songs in such a way that I don't lose important song information.
    Thanks for the feedback....

Runaway......once you go to itunes match you wont be able to sync your songs through usb anymore.  You will have to download them individually to your device.  Im looking into getting out of mac all together......cant believe it.....but its true.  An ipod got me into apple......cloud is getting me out of it.

I used a usb turntable to import old vinyl records into iTunes. Then with the cloud and iTunes match I put them on another Mac.  The songs come up in the music list but they are greyed out.  How do I get them recognized.  The symbol states the songs were downloaded from iCloud.  I would like to get them to play so that I can make a playlist, and burn a CD.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Opening Playlists with iTunes Match restarts Apple TV

I recently got iTunes Match. I have successfully connected my iTunes account with my Apple TV - I can see all of my artists, songs, album art, etc. - but I cannot even load the playlists. When I try, my Apple TV says "Loading iTunes Match" for a few seconds, then the pinwheel appears and circles for a few seconds, and then the Apple TV restarts. I can shuffle all my songs, play any artist, and everything works fine then.
To fix the problem, I have turned off Match, disconnected my iTunes account, reset the Apple TV, logged back into iTunes, and turned iTunes Match again. This is the only solution I have found in other threads, but I have done this a couple times on different days with no success. My Apple TV is fully updated, iTunes Match works on all of my other devices, etc.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix I'm not trying?

    Hi onlyalullaby,
If you are having issues such as you describe with your Apple TV I would suggest doing a restore of the device. See this article -

    Hello Solid Buck,
Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing.  It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone.  I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

How old was this backup? It sounds like it was at least several weeks old.
You can look directly in the TM backup for the music.
    1. Connect to the external HDD the backup is kept on.
    2. Open a Finder window and select the backup drive in the left hand panel. Double click into the folders until you see a list of folders with dates.
These are the incremental backups. You can start at the top or the bottom of the list but I suggest you double Latest/<HDD Name>/Users/<Account Name>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. From this location you can start looking for the "missing" music. When/if you find it you can simply drag-n-drop to ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music on the internal HDD.
If the music is actually not in the backups (for whatever reason) then you've got a problem.
You can download the uploaded files from the cloud by deleting the affected tracks from the iTunes library (but not the cloud!), highlighting multiple tracks at once, right-clicking and choosing "download."

  • For iTunes Match, how come some songs "match" on an album and other songs on the same album "upload" without matching?

For iTunes Match, how come some songs "match" on an album and other songs on the same album "upload" without matching?  All songs are available on iTunes.  I don't get it!  Any way to manually match songs that iTunes apparently can't match?  I have hundreds in this unmatched state.

Shazam has NO problem determining what these songs are. Maybe Apple needs to consider licensing their technology as it seems MUCH more accurate than what they are doing.
You aren't comparing like with like.
The main task that Shazam has is to identify the name or a track and the artist. I believe that it suggests the album as well, but if it gets that wrong then it doesn't really matter too much.
With iTunes Match, getting the album (i.e. identifying which version it is) is much more important. If it gets that wrong then it breaks up the flow of an album. This makes the task that match has very much harder.
In fact, there is a strong argument to say that currently the problem iTunes has is that it is matching too many songs, resulting in matches from different albums.
I'm sure that match is not struggling to identify whether it has a song or not, but whether it has the correct version of a song. When you introduce different masterings into the process then, depending on the thresholds set, it is probably correct in concluding that it hasn't got a particular version, even if you think it has.
The solution would appear to me to be a tweaking of the matching thresholds along with the ability to force an upload, but we just don't know what restrictions they have (remember that if Shazam gets it wrong the it doesn't present you with a copy of a new track that you didn't have previously). It is almost certainly not just a case of improving their technology.

  • Transfer my iTunes Match music to my iPhone? But not one song at a time...

But instead of downloading to my iPhone one song or playlist at a time, via wifi or cell phone network  (would take forever and exceed data limitations), I'd like to just connect iPhone to computer via cable.  Is there any way to do this?  The usual method, syncing, doesn't work since I got Match.  Thanks.

On the iPhone turn off iTunes Match then open the Music app and let the content clear out. Then connect to your computer via USB, sync, then turn iTunes Match back on. You see the alert about content being deleted, but it won't.

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • Cant see my iTunes, Photos or Movies, but can see YouTube?

Just open the brand new Apple TV. It arrived this morning. Used all the right ID's and passwords and can see YouTube and rent films, but the home movies, photo's and music is only showing up on the MacBook Pro. The Apple TV remote seems to work fine all of it and will allow me to see everything on the Macbook pro. I've tried, rebooting, laptop and and Apple TV, resetting Apple TV, switched on, then off and back on again Home Sharing in Itunes on the Macbook pro. Why cant I see my iTunes, Photos or Movies on my TV Screen, but can see YouTube through Apple TV? I'm going crazy!!!!!

Worked out this solution. iTunes needed upgrading to 10.0.1. Did this and now it works fine.
