Apple TV Display Too Large

My Apple TV output is displayed (zoomed) much larger than the television screen.  Need help in determining how to reduce the display size, as this is new.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

The only thing on Apple TV would be settings - audio/video. Check your HDTV settings, ensure it's set to use 16:9 aspect ratio

    when using mail in os 10.4, if someone sends me a message with pictures attached, they are at a size that you can see the whole picture when you scroll down in the message. if i forward that email to someone, the pictures display too large and you cannot see the whole image in the message. is there a setting for this somewhere?
    thanks

    Ah thanks, maybe I was experimenting with too small of pics!?
    Hmm, interesting...
    Mail will remebember the size and will automatically use it the next time you attach an image if you forget to manually change it back.
    And if the last setting was small, the menu may be there, but will have no effect since you cannot Scale up!
    Yes, it works only for downsizing.
    Also, it seems that if the pic is in quoted nesting the size setting has no effect!?
    On Mac OS X 10.5 and later it works regardless of quotation. If it does not on Mac OS X Tiger, it must be a bug that was fixed later.

  • Cid: images displayed too large

    I get a daily ModusMail spam quarantine digest. It has the following in its CSS:
    .qtrMessageImageCell
    width: 25px;
    The HTML has entries like:
    <TD class="qtrMessageImageCell"><img src="cid:Phishing.gif@Category"></TD>
    The first time a cid: image is displayed it has the correct size. All later instances of that same image are about 10 times too large.

    Our company really enjoys using the Muse product a lot and we are building our business online around it.  However, this image loading is a big problem for us.  With high resolution displays like Macbook Retina and Google Pixel it's important websites be crisp and high resolution.  While these machines are only a small portion of users online now it's a growing group and they are very affluent, influential, tech savvy and generally ahead of the curve.
    Muse is uniquely positioned to help us cater to these high end clients and also serve smartphone users and lower bandwidth visitors, as mobile is a very important channel as well.  Muse should have an option that allows me to include the highest quality images I can find and then serve lower resolution images to visitors on phones or mobile connections, and higher resolution images to high speed connection users on advanced displays.
    We build our whole website presuming Muse would optimize for this and our bounce rate is very high and load times are very slow right now.  Although we love the product this isn't just a bother, it's a mission critical problem that may cause us to abandon the product.
    To be fair we inadvertently made this worse by going with a very visual "infographic" style site and we have high resolution screens so we're making it look sharp for us.
    Now we're looking for ways to fix this quickly now without resizing dozens of images and also wondering how Muse handles this kind of rendering now and how that will change going forward?
    Thanks!

    Ps.  Would also be good if images loaded from top to bottom more and/or started out with lower resolution and graduated to higher resolution as I've seen on some sites (this may be browser)

  • Phone display too large to function

    My display is too large to fit my screen and makes it almost unusable to navigate. I cannot find a setting to fix this. Anyone run across this?

    Double tap with 3 fingers to un-zoom.
    To prevent this from happening again:

  • Dual Monitor Issue: 2nd Display too large...can't adjust...web pages provide no scroll bars

    I have two (2) HP S2031 LCD flat screen monitors.  They functioned perfectly with my old 32-bit machine (now gone).  I have just purchased a new 64-bit Windows 7 machine.  There are no error messages, but if I open a web page on the right (2nd) monitor, it does not display correctly.  It's as if it is a little too large.  I've tried adjusting the image using the Nividia software and using the monitor adjustments without improvement.  It is difficult getting out of that window because no scroll bars (vertical or horizontal) present themselves.  I am connecting through an iogear MiniView KVM switch to DVi-D sockets (with the four pins).
    Is it a 64-bit driver issue?   I think not, because display #1 looks fine.  Could it be an iogear KVM firmware issue?
    I dug out the HP driver disks that came with my monitors and installed them.  After I did that, I realized these were a 32-bit installation.  Now the monitor resolution won't go back to the higher, recommended level.  I don't see the software installation on the "add/remove programs" listing.  I'd like to change that.
    BUT THE REAL ISSUE is that I need BOTH monitors to be able to display proper aspect independently.  Remember, I've been through both the Nividia adjustments menu and the built-in monitor adjustments menu and found nothing that worked so far.
    Please help if you can.  This is for my trading business and I need it desperately.

    When requesting assistance, please provide the brand and model name and/or product number of the computer in question. Without this information, it may be difficult or impossible to resolve your issue.
    Have you swapped the two monitors to see if the problem follows the monitor or remains at the same location??? Try that first... if the problem follows the monitor, perform a hard reset by unpluging the monitor from power then holding the power button for 30 seconds. If the problem stays in the same location, you know both monitors are good and I would suspect the KVM isn't passing the "EDID" data to the computer. Removing the KVM should will tell you if this is the case.
    Please post back with your troubleshooting results.

  • GIF files (MIME attachments) in incoming mail display too large

    This happens only in messages I get from my service provider about msgs their Spam filter catches.
    They attach small GIF files to differentiate the kinds of Spam in the list, i.e. money offers, gift offers.
    The first time each image appears it's the correct (small) size, but subsequent lines have large pixelated displays of the same image.
    Main problem is that the large images on each line space out the lines in the Spam list so that it's a real nuisance to scan through. (I like to check it because legitimate msgs get caught sometimes.) My service provider doesn't know what causes this; it started after a recent software upgrade so I suspect one of my settings is wrong but I can't find which one it is.

    Same problem here - and we are probably using the same spam software.
    I had no problems with the emails I had been receiving with the MIME attachment images for 4+ months. Although another co-worker was having the same issues that you are describing as soon as we started using this new spam filter software.
    The only change I made today was a configuration on my Toolbar, the first I've ever made with Mail. It immediately 'broke' the images in my email. So it seems like some type of 'preferences' setting can't render or read the image after the initial configuration is changed.

  • Display Too Large

    Hi, i just got new 3GS phone. During exploring the phone, i have accidentally made the display large. Problem is i don't know how to go about to reduce back the normal display. Please advise. Thank you.

    Not sure if it had to do with a recent sync. But, "freaked out" can't come close to the panic mode that I was in. Like others, I had just completed a sync, when BAM! This forum has saved me lots of money on medical costs from anxiety attacks. Thanks TEAM for talking me down from the roof! Amini

  • Apple TV Display too big on HDTV

    I am using my Apple TV to access the Netflix App.  When Netfix mounts, I select a genre and that screen will mount.. I receive two rows of movie selections.  If you can visualize this screen, the first movie selection on the left and the last movie selection on the right only barely appear (only half the title appears.  Moving left or right will not display the whole movie selection.  In addition to that, when the a movie is selected , the title of the movie should appear below the selected movie.  On the bottom roll, the title of the movie is barely visible.  The Apple HOME Screen also shows half App Icons

    Pretty sure this is something that can only be solved in your tvs settings

  • HT201401 Display too large

    When I push the sleep button on the bottom of the face, the whole display is much larger than normal. How can I reset this condition to normal?

    Check Settings>General>Accessibility to be sure you don't have Zoom set to On.  (With it on you double-tap the screen with three fingers to zoom in and out.)  (Also, large button on the front of the phone is called the Home button.)

  • JApplet displaying too large in IE with JRE 1.5.0_06

    In my html, I have defined my width and height as 856 and 600 respectively.
    With JRE 1.4, the applet showed at the correct size. But I've upgraded to JRE 1.5.0_06 and now the applet is displaying at 1070 x 750 - that's an additional 25% for each dimension.
    At the beginning of the init() method, I have tried doing:
    this.setSize(856, 600);
    this.validate();but immediately printing out this.getWidth() and this.getHeight() still report 1070 x 750.
    At the end of the init() method, I repeat the
    this.setSize(856, 600);
    this.validate();code and the this,getWidth() and this.getHeight() now informs me of the desired 856 x 600 dimensions - but the applet is still visually too big on the screen.
    Don't get the problem with Mozilla or Firefox - only with IE (v6.0).
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Cheers,
    James

    This does not seem specific to one machine. I got thi crash once on my machine and I have customer complaints where they have reported this issue on several of their machines.

  • Bold type displays too large on some pages

    Bold italic type is displaying about twice the size that it should on two pages of an eight page site. (Type box also has plain italic.) I know what I'm doing, and have about 50 pages on five different sites, and these recent two pages are the only ones displaying wrong. Have html snippets from flickr with affected type boxes, but I have these on over 40 pages with no problems. I selected text and set all to correct size, but didn't help. What's going on?

    As an example, the "U S Coast Guard Station Ma'alaea" at the bottom right of the Map page is a span with a class "style_1". The html is...
    <span class="style_1">U. S. Coast Guard Station Ma’alaea</span>
    ... and the CSS...
    .style_1{
    font-family:'Arial-BoldItalicMT','Arial',sans-serif;
    font-size:16px;
    font-stretch:normal;
    font-style:italic;
    font-weight:700;
    line-height:20px
    Note that the font size is 16px - not 13px.
    If this is not what you chose in iWeb, you need to troubleshoot the application itself.

  • Gmail page displays too large

    All of my websites look fine except for Gmail. I can zoom in and out and (I've followed all of the pointers on Firefox's "websites look wrong" page") but every time the page reloads it goes back to this enormous, blown-up, fuzzy, zoomed-in version.

    If the screen is zoomed, hold CNTL and scroll down with the mouse or trackpad.

  • HELP! Display appears too large for screen!

    Weird thing happening... The display on my iPhone for some reason is appearing too large for the screen, as if I zoomed in on the display slightly. I can't figure out a way to fix this.
    Here's what it looks like. Notice the bottom half of the "scroll to unlock" is cut off... the whole thing is off-centered bcause of the zoom) http://i37.tinypic.com/25qvpr4.jpg
    I updated to the latest software/etc... because I figured that that might resolve the issue. Restarted the phone. Can't fix. Trying to avoid my local Apple store, since it's an absolute mob scene. Any advice?

    You have zoom on, probably.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPhone_UserGuide.pdf
    The manual will tell you how to turn it off.
    Page 190:
    "Turn Zoom on or off: In Settings, choose General > Accessibility > Zoom and tap the
    Zoom On/Off switch.
    Note: You cannot use VoiceOver and Zoom at the same time.
    Zoom in or out: Double-tap the screen with three fingers. By default, the screen is
    magnified by 200 percent. If you manually change the magnification (by using the tap-
    and-drag gesture, described below), iPhone automatically returns to that magnification
    when you zoom in by double-tapping with three fingers.
    Increase magnification: With three fingers, tap and drag toward the top of the
    screen (to increase magnification) or toward the bottom of the screen (to decrease
    magnification). The tap-and-drag gesture is similar to a double-tap, except you don’t
    lift your fingers on the second tap—instead, drag your fingers on the screen. Once you
    start dragging, you can drag with a single finger.
    Move around the screen: When zoomed in, drag or flick the screen with three fingers.
    Once you start dragging, you can drag with a single finger so that you can see more
    of the screen. Hold a single finger near the edge of the display to pan to that side of
    the screen image. Move your finger closer to the edge to pan more quickly. When you
    open a new screen, Zoom always goes to the top-middle of the screen.

  • Mac Mini display is too large for screen on only one user account

    Okay, so I left my two year olds alone for a minute playing the "alphabet game" on my Mac Mini. They only had the keyboard, no mouse but managed to muck up my display leaving me a bit frustrated.  The screen is now too large for my Samsung display. The only way to see everything (dock, top bar, etc) is to move my mouse arrow to the end of my display and see it roll back onto the page.  I've checked the settings there and they are fine. The MacBook Pro plugs right in and is proper resolution. So I then wondered if another account on the Mac Mini would do the same thing. I logged out of my Admin account and into another and everything looks just dandy. I log back into my Admin account and it's too large and blurry again. The resolution is set correct at 1920x1080 at 60 Hz.
    What button did they push on my keyboard that would do this and how do I get it back?? Aargh! Thanks all!

    Ha, figured it out myself from another discussion forum finally. Thoght I'd share in case anyone else runs into this. They must have hit "Zoom" by htting the "Control" and scroll buttons at the same time..
    Resolution:
    You can zoom out by holding down the Option and Command buttons on the keyboard and, while you hold them down, pressing the - key.
