Apple TV does not conect to iTunes

Hi,
I use a Windows PC with windows 7 and iTunes is updated to the newest version. Also Apple TV (3rd gen.) is updated. The "Privatfreigabe" on my Apple ID is done in iTunes and on Apple TV (as well on my iPad and iPhone). Apple TV is not able to stream from iTunes (message is pls conect your "Privatfreigabe" in iTunes) and in iTunes I don´t have a possibility to stream to Apple TV (the sign to stream to Apple TV is not available). Once I had the same problem I reinstalled iTunes  and it worked for one session, but after closing iTunes the problem was the same. Now I tried to reinstall iTunes again and nothing happened. I use a wifi conection via Fritzbox Homeserver 50.000 with a Fritz repeater. Streaming from iPad and iPhone works without problems. I also use a Laptop with windows XP and the streaming works without problems.
may somebody help me? Thx in advance!!

Any ideas why my Apple TV does not recognise my iTunes password, when all other devices, including these communities are good with it?

    Hi Mick2291,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I'd suggest restarting, and then restoring, your Apple TV if the issue persists:

  • Why apple tv does not show in itune?

why apple tv does not show in itune?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I assume you have the Apple TV 1.
Often a restart of ALL your equipment will help, it may also be a result of instaling or updating security software (check your security settings).
If problems persist, navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can sync it back afterwards, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted.

  • HT204053 I have made an Apple ID 10 months ago...But when I use it I get a message that says your Apple ID does not exist in iTunes and also Application Store...

I am living in Iran...I have made an apple ID about 10 months ago to use free Apps available in ITunes and Application Store...But I always get a message which says your Apple ID does not exist in iTunes and Application Store...Please guide me how to use iTunes and Application Store for downloading free Apps and music...

It sounds like you haven't yet setup iCloud with that account and you need to do that on a Mac or iOS device.  Once setup, you can enable iCloud on a PC, but it needs to be setup first.
See Creating an iCloud account: Frequently Asked Questions
    Which says in part:
You can sign up for iCloud on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later, or through System Preferences on a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.4 or later. Just follow the setup instructions for your iOS device or Mac.

  • Apple TV does not see other iTunes

My Apple TV and my iTunes get along great. A friend showed up with his iTunes (on an XP PC). My iTunes and his work fine together, we are both on 7.3.1. So I know network, sharing and connections all are fine. itunes is working as it should for both of us.
But the Apple TV does not see his iTunes to stream. It is supposed to be able to steam from 5 other iTunes, but my Apple TV only sees mine (the one it syncs with). Note that it can also stream from mine just fine.
    Any ideas?

This may reflect my lack of understanding.
His iTunes does not see the Apple TV at all. It does not show up in his iTunes. There is no "devices" list and no Apple TV.
However, even if it did, if you register the Apple TV with another iTunes, doesn't that mean the Apple TV is now going to sync with that new iTunes? Don't you only want to register the Apple TV with one iTunes? I assumed it would stream with any iTunes on the network (up to five).
But we are not there yet. His iTunes does not see the TV and the TV does not see him.
I double checked, he is looking for Apple TV in his settings.

  • Apple TV does not appear in iTunes after hard drive swap. (original ATV)

I recently upgraded the internal hard drive in my mac book pro. I removed the original drive and and put it into an external casing. With the new, larger capacity drive in place, i reinstalled the operating system and the updates, bringing it up to snow leopard, 10.6.4. I then dragged in the user and other important files to the new drive. For the most part, everything worked, except, Apple TV
Apple TV now longed shows up in itunes. It is visible on my wife computer and when i reboot from the "original" external drive. I assume there is some setting or file that i did not transfer over, but for the life of me, can figure out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx

Are you doing it in this order? (#5 below is a good inicator of whether the micro USB cable is compatible)
    1. Unplug Apple TV and move it to your computer running latest version of iTunes.
    2. Quit iTunes if running.
    3. Plug micro USB cable to the back of the Apple TV.
    4. Power the Apple TV using  the AC cable.
    5. iTunes shoud either launch itself (a good indication that the micro USB cable you're using is compatible), or launch iTunes.
    6. Click Restore. Software will download and install (big file).

  • Apple TV does not appear in iTunes

I've just got a new Mac Pro with Leopard installed and I can't get iTunes to see Apple TV. I've checked the signal strength on Apple TV and all is fine it just won't mount within iTunes. It was originally synced with a Mac I don't have now but my iTunes Library is the same. Any suggestions to get them to talk to each other?

Have you changed to the new itunes library from the tv.

  • Apple Store does not load in iTunes

My boss has a PC laptop running Windows 7.  Actually he has TWO laptops both running Windows 7.
When in iTunes, the iTunes Store won't load.   Or after a LONG while, it will start loading, no icons, just a listing of items like in a bad webpage (no HTML?),
and after a while it will time out, give a 'time-out' error and stop.
He tried using the iYunes Store in his home laptop and same thing... Strange......
I had him login with his Apple ID into my MacBook Pro and his account loads fine.
So it must be WIndows related, right?
I had him do the following as suggested by another forum:
1- Uninstall the old version of itunes you have (or just uninstall iTunes if you are already running 10.4.0.80
    2- Uninstall Quicktime also
    3- Uninstall Apple software update
4- Uninstall Apple mobile device support
    5- Uninstall Bonjour
    6- Uninstall Apple application support
(shutdown wait 20 seconds then fire up the computer at this point)
    7- Reinstall iTunes 10.5.2.11
    Still no luck.
    ANY SUGGESTIONS??
    THANK YOU!!

I did eventually came up with a solution for my own problem above:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
Type: netsh winsock reset  then hit enter & reboot the computer.
    That did it.

  • Apple TV does not find Itunes library (since Yosemite). Itunes finds apple tv without a problem.

Since Yosemite, my apple tv 3 (latest software) does not find my itunes library anymore (imac 27" late 2013). Vice versa, via Itunes (latest version) I can perfectly stream music and videos to my apple TV. So there is communication between the two devices, but for some reason Apple TV does not find my itunes library. Sometimes rebooting all my devices works.
    any solutions for this problem?

I solved this problem in this way:
    go to Preferences -- Sharing
change the name of your mac (delete ALL the existing name and choose another one)
    close Preferences
    restart Mac
    open itunes
now check if everything works on apple tv.

  • Apple TV does not work after trying to update software. Main light keeps blinking and on the screen shows itunes icon and a usb cable. What does that means?

My Apple TV does not work after trying to install the new software update. The main light keeps blinking rapidly and on the screen it shows the itunes icon and a USB cable. What does that mean?

The Apple TV is in recovery mode. Try to restore the Apple TV. Follow the link for instructions on the restore process.

  • Apple TV 1st gen does not show in itunes preferences or devices

Apple tv 1st gen does not appear in itunes devices nor in preferences. The words "Apple TV" appear no where in itunes whatsoever.
    Windows 7
    Apple TV 1st Generation
It used to be there but not since I updated itunes.
    I have tried:
    re-install itunes (version10.7.0.21)
    re-set apple tv
unplug all cables on apple tv and router
performance test on apple tv (OK)
    turn off "Home sharing"
    turn on "Home sharing"
"Share my library on local network"  - Off - On - Off - On
The apple tv works fine and it is connected to my network (I can watch youtube no problem).
I've now spent about 6 hours researching any other possibilities to no avail. Any help appreciated.

Thanks for all the helpful answers I received on this thread!!!!
Anyway, this morning I received the notification to download the 10.1.2.17 which I did. This resolved my problem.
I am still a bit sceptical that the same symptom my return as it happened the same way in the past.
    Fingers crossed!!

  • The movies that I've purchased from Itunes do not all appear on my Apple TV list of purchased movies. Also one movie that is listed as purchased on my Apple TV does not appear in my itunes library. Anyone have a solution?

Some movies that I have purchased from itunes and are listed in my itunes library arenot listed as purchased movies on my Apple TV. Also one of the movies listed as purchased on my Apple TV does not come up in my Itunes library. Anyone know why?

Are you by chance signed in to differnt accounts on iTunes (your computer(s)) and AppleTV?  Is AppleTV connected to more than one computer?  When you are compairing lists of movies are you looking under the "Movies" button, or under the "Computer" button?  Where all of these movies purchased though iTunes?
NOTE:  The computer button only shows the content that is downloaded to your computer(s).  So it will not show all the content you have purchased.  Just all the content on the computer.

  • Why when I try to login the Itunes Connect with my Apple ID it always says: "Apple ID does not have permission to access iTunes Connect."?

Look on one of your bank statements and be sure to enter the billing address exactly as it shows on the statement. Some folks forget where they actually get the statement. They put their home address in iTunes/Mac App Store and they actually get the statement at their place of employment or vice versa.
