Apple TV down load really slow

I used to be able to down load movies for rent and watch them 2-3 mins later - now its 8-24 hrs. Even previews have slowed down. I have contacted apple support but they are acting like there is nothing wrong. There are posts all over the web about this - anyone know anything about why they slowed the service down?

I'm having the same problem over a 802.11n wi-fi connection via my Time Capsule, and I have 2 questions: are the movies and trailers HD and when did this start happening to you? My slow download problems began not too long ago, but before the recent software update. Although, download times for rented movies took around 2 hours before I could start to watch them. Are the movies you're talking about purchased or rented?

  • Images load really slow after using Reduce File Size...

After using the "Reduce File Size..." feature in Acrobat 9 on Windows Vista, some of the images load really slow as I page through the document. Is there some kind of compression setting that I should look for to prevent the images from be affected by this?
For some of my documents it will take 30 to 60 seconds to load an image. Sometimes I can't do anything with the document until the graphic loads entirely.

Can you post an example of a file that has this issue? Personally, I recommend using the PDF optimizer, it gives better control of the final pdf file.

  • Why is it YouTube loads really slow sometimes even when I'm connected to wifi ?

Why is it YouTube loads really slow sometimes even when I'm connected to wifi ?

Hard to say. The speed of your Internet connection. Congestion on YouTube's servers, problems at any point in between you and them... When you are connected to WiFi, you will get a substantially higher resolution version of some videos than you do on 3G.
Are you using the youtube app or are you just accessing it via a web browser.

  • CEF loads really slow

So, just recently my computer started to load everyting in CEF relly really slow. It does load but it takes forever. What could be the cause and what can I do about ti?

    Sites that load fine -

    http://LiturgicalDesign.biz
Site that takes extremely long time to load -
    http://LifeGivingSpring.info
All sites use same hosting provider, but are hosted on 1 account,

But I'm talking about the sites loading in the File Viewer on my computer,
and not the remote server connections for the sites.

  • Apple TV download is really slow

    HI
My Apple TV is slow in dowlnloading movies. This has been like this for the last 2 months. I use to be able to watch a movie almost instantaneously but now have to wait up to 1hr 30mins in most cases before I can start watching it. This occurs in both HD and SD although SD is a little quicker but is still really slow. Even then it pauses part way through to continue to download the movie. I have had my broadband connection speed checked and spoken to my broadband provider (Telstra Clear) with speed check achieving a download speed of 15mbps. I have Apple TV 2. Can anyone help before reverting back to DVDs from the video shop?

The Apple TV itself is the bottleneck.  The problem is not bandwidth.
My home theatre system uses Apple TV for most content.  I also use a MacMini for the few DVDs I have and for EyeTV television recording.
Same as all the posts to this thread - performance slowed badly the last few months.
However, I notice that if I download rentals and purchased movies through iTunes on the MacMini, it works as the Apple TV did before.  That is, start the download and wait a minute or so and then watch the movie end to end without interruption.
Also, iTunes allows me to cache the full movie if I give myself a few minutes prior to the time I want to watch something.
    Not great.  But it works.

  • Site loads really slow in File Window

Dreamweaver 8 on Mac OSX4.11 stopped loading my site instantaneously in the File Window.
All other sites load fine, but 2 sites load extremely slow; both are Wordpress sites with lots of files.
I deleted 1 of the 2 sites and recreated it, but it still loads slow.
When I try to switch to it in the File Viewer, I get the spinning color disc for quite a while
What can I do to get sites to load instantaneously again?

  • Apple TV 3 Loading extremely slow

    Hey all,
We recently updated to the newest update to the Apple TV 3. Since the update, the unit takes over 30 seconds to load any content, or longer, and sometimes fails to load content imagery at all. I know this generally is because of the internet, but we run fine on every other device (at close to 60 mbps). I have an older Apple TV in the bedroom, and this seem to load faster than the new one – which makes no sense. Any ideas what could be going on? I have tried hard resets, I've even restored it in iTunes to no avail.
I don't know if it is related, but Home Sharing requires the unit to be reset (soft) every single time. Otherwise, no computers will load until it is reset.
Using hard ethernet cord straight from the modem (and yes, even tried switching ports and using only wifi on the Apple TV – no luck).
    Thanks in advance!
    Jonathan

In my opinion Apple is having some serious bandwith issues. They are horrible slow. I was loading a movie to my Apple TV (2) on the evening of the Moutain Lion Launch. It took me more than 10 Minutes to start the playback. I'm on a 100Mbit line in Germany. Usually this takes not longer than 5 seconds (worst case, most of the time its ready after 2 seconds). I then did a test with Windows 8 beta download and got about 10Megabyte/sec right away from the Microsoft/Akamai Server.
Apple really needs to put some of their millions and billions of dollars in their Infrastrucutre. Maybe they should call someone who knows how to handle these loads (akamai f.e.)

  • Help with internet loading really slow

can anyone help me please my phone is a n95 8 gb and the net is so slow loading if it does at all sometimes even on my home broadband connection its slow any idears on how to speed it up please

It's definitely Mac OS X then. To see exactly which version you are running, click the Apple Menu  then click; About This Mac. The version number will be displayed there. Should be 10.5.x
Please click My Settings on the right side of this window and update your profile.
Which internet provider is this? Are you using Safari/Firefox ??? More details please.

  • Firefox menus (right click, bookmark, etc) load REALLY slow

    System Info:
Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit.
    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.53 GHZ
    6 gig memory
    Intel SSD 320 series
Progressively for the past few years, FireFox has gotten slower and slower for me. Not actually the browsing, but the menus. It now takes ~3 seconds to load up the right click menu, or the "FireFox" menu at the top left, or book marks.
History, Cache, Cookies have all been deleted. All extensions and plugins disabled. If I disable all start up home pages.
It still does responds the same
When I reinstalled Windows ~2 months ago when I got the SSD drive (it was a clean install) the behavior is there immediately upon installing.
This is driving me more and more crazy and I am about ready to give up on FireFox!
Anybody know what is going on and how to fix it?

    Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • WRT350n Firmware Update 1.03.7 - Web page load really slow after update

Well I updated my WRT350N with the new firmware, but now web pages load very slowly, and streaming video is even slower. Before the update it was blazing fast. I run a mixed network of wireless N and G. Both Wireless N connections connect at 200 or higher Mbps now, which is a great improvement.
Anybody got any ideas why web pages and steaming video run so slow now.
Also downloading files never goes above 30 kb/sec now.
I use comcast cable and downloads were so fast before.
    Thanks in advance.

check the download speed and the streaming video when the computer is directly connected to the modem

  • Lightbox loading really slow on website

Does anyone else have this issue? I created a few lightbox widgets on one page, thumbnails are 32kb, the larger image that pops up is around 200kb and are all compressed for the web. Seems like those are small enough files, but the page takes up to 10-15 seconds to load and I've tried it on multiple computers with different speeds of internet and different browsers. This is my first attempt with this software and designing a website so any help would be greatly appreciated:
    http://newleafdesigncenter.com/gallery.html

Looking at the page a bit closer, it appears the images aren't optimized. Rather they appear to be roughly the size they would be if saved at 100 quality JPEG out of Photoshop. Using 100 quality defeats the purpose of using JPEG. For most photographic images a quality setting of 50 will give acceptable results. For many images you can go lower with no clearly visible impact. A quality setting of 50 would likely cut the image file sizes by a factor of 5.
Note that Muse will optimize images, but only if the images are resized or cropped in Muse (or have specific effects applied that are baked into a new image at output time). If you sized the images outside of Muse then imported them, the output files are your input files, since Muse assumes that if you sized them you also optimized them.
If you use Save for Web on your images in Photoshop and choose JPEG with a Quality of 50 or less, I expect it will cut your page load time by 75%, or perhaps more (though I am still curious how BC server performance compares to your hosting provider for the same content).

  • Apple tv is really slow

Apple tv is now really slow. I went out and bought a new generation apple tv because the old one was not performing.  New one is no better.  I went through trouble shooting with my service provider and i am getting 50 mbs. Now I look at the the forum and I see this is a problem with apple.  I think apple is to busy trying to split up Steve's inheritance and now the wheels are falling off the wagon.

Can't say I've noticed that. I certainly couldn't read my titles as I scroll through my lists at full scroll speed, I'd say it takes about 5 seconds to scroll through 200 items. How slow is it for you. I have noticed however if I go to a new menu, it won't begin to scroll the options for around a second, which actually seems like a long time.

  • Firefox loading pages really slow

So a lot of pages are loading really slow like minutes, like youtube and hot.ee mail service and a lot more. It started to happen when i updated to 20.0. Looked up some suggestions and found that about:config network.http.keep-alive to false help. And so i did it and it worked, but next time i opened firefox again it was slow loading again, but keep-alive is false still, disabled all not nessecary plugins and extensions and i dont seem to find a solution. Been a firefox user for a long time and dont want to change my browser.

I tried every suggestion, and still had VERY slow page loads (minutes!) for some websites.
The strange part was that [http://www.clickster.com Clickster.COM] would load quickly if I typed '''clickster.com''' into the address bar, but would take minutes if loading from a link or bookmark whose url was '''http://clickster.com'''.
After trying everything, here was the still slightly unsatisfactory solution (Firefox 22.0):
    (1) Type '''about:config''' in Firefox address bar.
    (2) Promise to be good.
    (3) Change '''network.http.keep-alive.timeout''' from 115 to '''0'''
    (4) Change the link or bookmark url to [http://www.clickster.com www.clickster.com]
Note that neither Chrome or IE have this bizarre behavior, and load instantly from a link, bookmark, typed-in url, with or without the '''www'''. There is still a serious Firefox bug.

  • Finder is really slow ( 15 sec.) after mavericks update on brand new iMac 27" WITH fusion drive...

When looking up files it's fine, but when trying to save or open anything through ANY program, i.e. Adobe CS6 programs, Microsoft Word, but also Apple software, finder is really slow (15 sec. or more of the same spinning beach ball) after the OSX Mavericks update on my brand new iMac 27" WITH fusion drive... This ***** really bad because it totally disturbs the smooth workflow I bought the iMac for in the first place...
    Any suggestions?
Already tried 'clearing the plist file' through terminal; didn't work... Rebooting (obviously), didn't work.
Will there be a fix soon?
It's costing me way to much time waiting for the finder to show it's content when working.
Any official word from Apple on this?

I had a similar problem.  Tried repairing disk permissions, tried cleaning up with onyx and applejack with no luck.  Finally what did work was simply starting up in safe mode (hold shift key down after restart) and it sorted itself out
    Hope this works for you

  • My internet is really slow

Hello, Since yesterday my Internet connection has been really slow. I have changed the channel and checked my phone line and nothing seems to be wrong except some websites don't load or load really slow its should be much faster.  STATS Router StatisticsSystem Up Time: 04:14:24PortStatusTxPktsRxPktsCollision PktsTx b/sRx b/sUp TimeWANPPPoA62799883765700004:12:30LANUp79721183100004:14:24WLANUp86097964728200004:14:24Broadband LinkDownstreamUpstreamConnection Speed4094 kbps799 kbpsLine Attenuation52.5 dB33.4 dBNoise Margin3.4 dB12.12 dB

Based on your attenuation figure there is nothing you can do to increase your speed(unless you can upgrade to Fibre) as your just to far from the exchange your attenuation figure puts your distance at roughly 3.8km(cable wise).
It is possible that a line fault or equipment fault is causing a false figure.
Do you have any crackling, hissing, ticking or other noise on your line when amking or reciving calls?
Are you connected to the Master socket?
Have you tried using the Test Socket(located behind the Master socket faceplate)?
Are you using any extension leads to connect to the socket?
