Apple TV Export Calculating Estimated Time Lockup
Looking for some help here... I am exporting video from QTPro to Apple TV. Just recently, when I go to FILE/EXPORT choose Apple TV then OK, the export dialog comes up but says "Exporting -- Calculating Estimated Time" and just sits there for a short 100MB HDV - Apple Intermediate Codec file.
Any thoughts? This work fine since upgrading to 7.1.5 until just today. Tried repairing permissions, re-installing QT 7.1.5, reboot, did not help.
I found that if I copy and paste the original file into a new QuickTime movie, the export worked as it should. I wanted to post a followup in case anyone else encounted this issue.

Like many fellow iPhone users, I've been having a devil of a time completing my iPhone upgrade. It's stuck in iPhone purgatory awaiting a connection to iTunes to complete, and in turn, is a worthless shiny brick. If you could post an estimated time for the resolution of this problem, it would help me and many others from enduring hours or frustration and attempted workarounds (click on Music, then your phone, then music, then your phone, then the store, then the phone, click your heels three times). I work for a technology company, and we find that communicating the issue to the users is always better then letting them bang their heads against a wall asking 'why why why' while they cant get their work done.
The GOOD news is I installed 2.0... (I've been so excited about the new Apps!!!)... The BAD news is - Now I just have an image of a USB cable and iTunes logo on my phone and an error message in iTunes: "An unknown error occurred (-4)." ...please try again later.
More BAD news - All of these fantastic apps I've already purchased and I just want to use them, but no phone to use them on anymore. I'm sorry, but I can't live without my iPhone! I don't know where I'm supposed to be right now without my iCal... I don't know any of my friends phone numbers so I can't call them for help... I don't even know my Bank information because that was in there too.

Export Problems! Estimated time keeps going up!
Hi Everyone. I have a project that suddenly will not export. When I try to use Quicktime conversion
or even the other export options the export gets stuck at 7 percent while the estimated time keeps rising from one minute to 5 hours then on and on.
I'd appreciate any advice you could give me.Yes I have exported it with no problems before. I even tried to use previous saves but it does the same thing. No matter what compression I use this problem occurs. Ideally I'd like to export to uncompressed 10 bit but I'm trying other compressions (such as H264 and mp4) right now because they typically export faster.
I'm leaving it to render now I'll give it an hour or two to see if it goes past zero percent. -
I installed Yosemite and since then the system has been running slow. I chose to use FileVault and it says it's encrypting but keeps saying estimating time remaining. I've tried repair permission and restarting my computer. Saw some other threads with similar problem and ran diskutil cs list which showed 80% the first time and now says failed. I also did an Entre Check and here are the results.

Restart the router and the broadband device, if they're separate. Any change?
Run Software Update and install all available updates for OS X or the computer's firmware. Any change?

If possible, connect to the router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all the same?

Is networking always the same, or is the problem intermittent?
Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
If you're running a MacBook with the lid closed, open the lid. Any difference?
Start up in safe mode and test. Any difference?
Start up in Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. Any difference?
If possible, turn off Bluetooth and disconnect any USB 3 devices. Any difference? -
I tries to backed up and storage on iCloud but its just shows down below "Estimating time remaining" but theres no time remaining !!! And i connect to the Wifi already and i buy a storage capacity !!! But its not backing so what should i do in that case !!!?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable. -
I participated in getting the free download of Mountain Lion for new Mac owners. It took me three days to finally get a code to do it and when I tried downloading it, the estimated time was 74 days 17 hours. Now an error occurred. What do I do? I am very frustrated and just want the great software to download in a resonalbe time!
Take your Mac to a location with a fast, relaible Internet connection that will be all yours during the duration of the download.
If you want to complain, PLEASE call Apple and do so.
Internet only downloads of OS X is completely stupid, it assumes everyone has reliable Internet everywhere and /or no data caps. -
My iPhone 4 says "backed up-never". I am trying to back up to Icloud..it says it will automatically backup when is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi. Does this mean I have to lock my phone? It shows "backing up" & "estimating time remaining".....but it looks like it will never finish. Can somebody please help me? I do not have enough memory to update my phone, I do not want to lose all of my pics & videos....is there some way to save them ie., memory card?
I am truly ignorant with respect to this, but I was trying to video my grandson & it told my I was out of storageYou should import your photos and videos to your computer following the steps outlined in this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. After doing so you will be given the option to delete them from your phone to give you more space. If you don't want to delete them all in this way, after importing them to your computer you can open your camera roll in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos and videos you want to delete from your phone, then tap Delete.
If you have never backed up your phone, and are having trouble backing up to iCloud, you should perform a manual backup on your computer. To do this, connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes, right-click on the name of your phone on the left side and choose Back Up. (If you have iTunes 11, first go to View>Show Sidebar.)
To back up to iCloud you need to be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger, then just press the power button to lock the screen (i.e., put it in "sleep" mode). It should then back up automatically if you have turned on iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup (at the bottom). -
My battery is 100% yet the estimated time is 6:15 only. Why is this?
Hello. I am new to Mac. I got my first MacBook Pro 15 with retina for Christmases and in that machine the estimated time always displayed more than 7 hours. Last week I replaced my laptop for one with 16GB. In the new machine the time usually show as 6:15 wit 100% charged battery. Can someone tell me if this is something I should be concerned about or is this due to some settings? Thank you in advance.
You should consider yourself fortunate to be getting such battery life. First the Apple advertised battery life hours are predicated on very 'ideal' conditions that the overwhelming amount of users do not adhere to. If you get 60% - 70% of these figures in normal application usage, your are doing just fine.
The estimated battery life figures that are displayed can vary radically. They reflect the time left based on what is being done at that particular moment. Open another application and the time will decrease. Close an application, the time will increase.
Increase of RAM will have no meaningful affect on battery life. The number and type of applications that you are using are the determinants regarding battery life.

I just bought an ipad mini with retina display. On my settings page it shows an update occurring for ios.7.0.4 with the message "Estimating time remaining..."
This update and message appeared last evening but doesn't seem to complete. It also says "downloading", but nothing is happening.
How can I complete the download or eliminate it?If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple. -

You may want to update your iPhone using iTunes on a computer if your device only shows "estimating time remaining" when you try to update wirelessly:
If you can’t update wirelessly, or if you want to update with iTunes, follow these steps:
If you use your device's Personal Hotspot for your computer's Internet connection, update your device wirelessly or connect your computer to another network.
Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
Plug in your device to your computer.
In iTunes, select your device.
In the Summary pane, click Check for Update.
Click Download and Update.
If you see an error message while updating your device, you can learn how to resolve iOS update errors in iTunes.

I just purchased adobe premiere elements 12 and at the end of the installation it mentioned to go to apple . com and get quick time? I'm interested in doing time lapse video. Not sure as what to do... Any and All help would be Greatly Appreciated, Thanks, in advance.

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 running on? Have you updated 12 to the 12.1 Update? If not, please do so using an opened project's Help Menu/Update.
The latest version of QuickTime is a requirement for Premiere Elements. Among other things, without it you will not have QuickTime export presets when you get to the Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime exports. So, please download and install latest version of QuickTime to computer with Premiere Elements 12/12.1. QuickTime like Premiere Elements requires that it be run with you as Administrator. Is your User Account one with Administrative Privileges?

PP CC: Where did Estimated Time go with MP4 Rendering?
I'm exporting a MP4 file, not using Media Encoder, just Make Movie from Premiere CC.
Every version of PP previous to CC used to tell me an estimated time remaining. Now it just says the % and Pass 1 or Pass 2.
Where is Estimated Time Remaining?I don't recall Export ever giving that info, only AME.

Estimated time for iTunes 9.1.1 download is 26 hours!?
Every time I try to download the new iTunes (which I need to work my iPhone) it takes abnormally long to download!
So I decided to go on apple.com and download it straight from there. All in all - it begins to download - Estimated time: 6 hours... 13 hours... 26 hours!!!
It stopped at 26 hours.
That is insanely long!
I downloaded it on my laptop, and it took max half and hour.
What is going on with my computer and itunes?it also did not work for me.

Can't restore from iCloud - verification error or stuck on estimating time remaining.
From yesterday 4PM I try to restore my iPhone from iCloud. I check icloud system status - everything is fine there.
Problem messages:
* Verification Error
* Stuck on estimating time
* Can't connect
I don't know what to do. All websites and services work fine on my 100Mb connection. So I guess this is an iCloud problem.

is your exernal drive formatted Mac OS X Extended? it should be.
Try using Apple's Disk Utility to format the drive. However, when you reformat you will lose all files on the external drive in the process.
