Apple TV Frustrations -- Help!

I've had this Apple TV for over a year and get so frustrated when I try to sync any new songs or photos. It takes forever then quits before it's done and some of my albums are then gone that were there before! Isn't there an easy way to connect this to my laptop and sync it??
Also, whenever I try to update the software it says "not available" and I'm still using the original software. It will never download it. So how do I get this. I don't understand why this isn't easy to use like my iPod or iPhone -- should be able to connect it to the laptop somehow to update it Any help is deeply appreciated. I LOVE my Mac toys but this one has me ready to scream.

Just patience basically. I have wireless Airport which is not near the AppleTV but I've gotten it to sync a couple of time and everything is there to view which includes about 2,000 photos and 2,000 songs with lots of leftover space. Then when I want to add a few new photos it is so frustrating. It starts to sync and then it takes like 5-10 minutes for each photo and before they all get added it quits and then an entire album is gone. They are still in the library, but the prior album is gone. I also get firewall messages that I can't resolve sometimes. Is there a way to connect the appletv to my laptop to sync it like an iPod faster. Once I connected an ethernet cable to the appletv and my laptop and it work great and zoomed through the sync really fast but I cant' get it to work again?? Getting firewall messages. I have never been able to get an upgraded software to download also -- says not available when I try downloading it on appletv every time over the past year.

where on my computer am I suppose to make the individual picture files and have them to upload on my ipod touch.... I do have a photo library on my computer, but in the photo tab in itunes for the ipod touch and there is nothing checked for syncing, cause when I do check it it always says its going to replace everything i have in my photo library on my ipod touch..... So how am i suppose to have it checked and have it NOT replace pictures on it????
Also I cannot make more photo albums into my ipod touch, it just replaces the one album every time....
I am very frustrated cause I have tried the manuals and the apple support help etc and nothing pertains to my exact issue.....
Please if u could elaberate I would appreciate it alot.....

Perhaps those apps require a newer version of iOS than is compatible with your iPod.

That's not the point.    Before iCloud, Outlook synched with Apple Calendar and/or iCal.    With iCloud, Cal syncs with iPhone and other devices.     Outlook doesn't have to sync with iCloud (although that would certainly be nice).   It just has to continue to sync with Cal, which in turn syncs with devices via iCloud.
But for some inane reason, it doesn't.    If this is Apple's way of forcing people to not use Office and only use Calendar and Apple Mail, they are going to stop the gains they've made in business environments.   Businesses, especially large businesses, use Outlook.   End of story.
Furthermore, Apple's instructions for setting up or deleting iCal and iCloud accounts is complete gibberish. And I'm a tech who has been working with computers for 32 years.   Apple used to be great at making things easy. They now suck at it and are just as bad as Microsoft.

PLEASE HELP!!! My 'Apple mobile device helper has stopped working'!

Today i bought the new 3G iPhone so i went online to download the new 7.7 iTunes software. Now when i go into my iTunes a Windows pop up appears telling me that my 'Apple mobile device helper has stopped working' and that it is diagnosing the problem. The thing is that it doesn't diagnose the problem, the same box just keeps popping up over and over again.
I am not very computer literate and have tried everything that i can think of but nothing has worked.
Please can someone help because i'm absolutely dying to use my new iPhone; i queued up from 6 am to get my hands on it! :0(

I'm just a simple user. I don't know how to fix it any more than any of the other posters with this problem. I've looked around in control panel, done some poking and prodding with services and processes, and can't find a reasonable way to stop the messages without completely hosing up iTunes. I know the messages are annoying as ****, and nobody likes the idea, but sitting around and doing nothing is sometimes a whole lot better then doing something that makes it worse. See if you can find a document from Apple that tells you how to go back to the previous version of iTunes. I've seen that course of action mentioned several times for previous releases of iTunes upgrades, so the instructions for it must exist in another forum.
I just think, from the number of posts, that Apple is going to have to get a fix out pretty quickly, because this error pretty much shuts down their products on the Windows platform. They can't afford to let it go on for very long.

Son even call apple with no help and was give Microsoft number no help there either they wanted me to call HP.....run around

Strange how sometimes the fixit works better than the manual methods, and sometimes the manual methods work better than the fixit. It differs from Microsoft fixit to Microsoft fixit too. (Unfortunately, because these "anomalous 2738s" are pretty rare as install errors go, I don't have a good feel yet for whether or not it's the fixit or the manual method that's more likely to work in iTunes/QuickTime installation contexts.)

VGA is an analog signal HDMI is digital. A simple cable would not work you would need something that converts the analog signal to digital.
A search of VGA to HDMI turned up a few possibilities but nothing specific. In any case the picture on the TV will not be very good given the source.
You should check to see if the TV has a VGA input. Some TV's have a computer connection port and this is usually VGA.

This happened to us and through much trial and error, this is what we did to fix it:
Go to iTunes ----> Preferences -------> Apple TV and see if your Apple TV is listed as streaming from there. Remove the Apple TV. Close iTunes. Open iTunes. Your Apple TV should now show under devices and ask you to set it up. Enter the code and set it up with your iTunes. That worked for us. Good luck!

Bad or incompatible RAM is, more often then not, the cause of most Kernel Panics. It could also just need to be reset.
Here's the most used site for Resolving Kernel Panics. Please do all the steps in order, even if you don't think you need to do a certain step.
