Apple tv-i tunes

why does my apple tv lose connection to my itunes music after about 3-4 minutes. this never happened before. I just also installed a wireless repeater, to see if that is the problem and no luck. I do have full bars on my laptop now though. please help

Michael, you need to configure these through your router's setup utility. For a non-Apple router it is likely that this can be done using a standard web browser. What you'd do is enter the router's IP address as a web address and then the configuration utility will display its instruction and accept input just like you were working on a web site. Your router's default IP address will be listed in your user manual (for the router). For example, on a Belkin Wireless-G the default IP address would be:
192.168.2.1
So, you'd enter that into the web browsers address field.
However, if you have an Apple Airport wireless access point then you will use Apple's AirPort Utility and not a web browser.
In any case, you should start by referring to your router's user manual since some brands of routers (e.g. Apple) will come with a custom setup program that you can use instead of a web browser.

Restart your MBP holding the trackpad down and hopefully the disk will be ejected.  Then try to return it and get a refund or put it in the trash.  There is nothing that software does for your MBP that you cannot do yourself or with free software.
If can get your MBP started, delete all traces of the offending software.  Worst case is that you may have to erase the HDD and reload the OS and your user data.  I trust that you have a backup (minus MacTuneUp).
Courcoul has given you his opinion in a very succinct manner, and as you might surmise, I agree with him.

  • So what is Apple and I-Tunes doing about the Shuffle mess??

    Some communication would be nice!!
From all of the posts in the last few days, it seems to be apparent that Apple and/or I-Tunes is having a real mess!! Last week my computer(an old Compac Presario) did not even recognize my shuffle. I tried it a few times every day. Magically on Sunday, my computer not only recognized it, but sent an update, which worked fine.
Monday, working-out in the pool, it died. (I should add here that my shuffle has been waterproffed by 'SWIMMAN' and I have a waterproof headset and the whole thing has been fine for the last 15 months!).
Later on Monday, I attached it to my computer to be charged and the computer kept saying that it needed to be plugged into a high-speed port. So I turned on my new laptop, downloaded I-Tunes and plugged in the shuffle. I-Tunes came back and said the shuffle could only be associated with one computer and was going to erase my shuffle and resync it, OK? I said no! I then got information on how to copy my 4GB of files without making 6 backup discs and proceeded to copy all the files to the new computer.
After that was finished, I plugged in the shuffle and got absolutly no response from I-Tunes, my computer did not even recognize the shuffle as a drive! So many times yesterday and this morning I tried it again and again and no response!
As I started writing this post, on the old computer, I thought "Let me try once more". Well what do you think?? The new computer recognized the shuffle as 'SMIMMAN iPod', only a few recently added tracks were missing, and it seems to be working. So I'm giving it plenty of time to charge.
Right now it might be working fine, but what is being done to prevent this from continuing? There was one post about reseting the utility program. How can you do that when the shuffle is not being recognized by the computer?
Another pet pieve... I-Tunes has the 'settings' tab with information it reads from the shuffle. Why can't it read and report the level battery charge? My lights don't blink when the charge is low (the waterproofing may have something to do with that). Your laptop tells you when you battery is low, why not I-Tunes??
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Linda

My shuffle came from SWIMMAN who has worked with Apple to make the shuffle waterproof. Everything had been working just fine both in and out of the water until Monday, March 10 when I was sent an update from I-Tunes. All of the problems have been since then. Sometimes my computer recognizes it, right now it's not.
This morning it worked fine for an hour, now it's dead and not being recognized.
From reading the posts here since this past Monday, it looks to me as if there is a problem with Apple and I-Tunes.
Also from looking at the posts, there are many others with the same problem and none of them have been answered successfully!

  • Apple TV Air Tunes error -15000

Since I have installed iTunes 8 my apple tv has been acting very strange. Has anyone else noticed?
It seems to be slower, it has crashed once or twice, the last time it crashed It blew away all my content. I had to re-sync my photo's etc..
But my main gripe now is, I use it as an air tunes client, and that consistently doesn't work. I just get an Unknown error -150000
My Apple TV is connected directly to my netgear adsl wifi router with a cable, my iMac is a wifi client. I also have an air port express which works perfectly.
Can any one shine any light on my problem?
    Many Thanks
    Paul

I (and many others) have the same problem since updating to iTunes 8. There is nothing you can do about it, unfortunately. We'll have to wait for an iTunes update to have this problem fixed.

  • Apple TV - I tunes Match - Music - Now Shows Top Songs From I Tunes Store

I use I tunes Match through my apple tv. Following recent apple tv update. Apple TV now links to itunes via store. When accessing Music through Apple TV it used to show the last 10 or so albums that i had played. It now has 2 headings at the top My Music (which now only shows the last 2 albums played) and a new heading Top Songs, which seems to show a load of junk music which it is enticing me to purchase from the itunes Store. Which now shows inappropriate album artwork of scantly clad ladies which i dont really want my children to see.
Why would apple think this is a good thing ? And is there an option somewhere/ somehow to diasble this terrible new feature and just show music that i have recently played.
    Thankyou

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, there are no such options, if you have any suggestions that you think might enhance the Apple TV you can send Apple your feedback here

  • It´s possible create an account in apple or i tunes store from US?

I´m from Venezuela (Foreign Country), because the address from my credit card is not an United States address, and i think for that reason is not possible.

This question is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • Stopping an old iPhone syncing with my Apple Applications/IT Tunes

I have an unusal problem.  I have given my old iPhone4 to my son.  He is also using a newish hand down laptop from me.  I wiped the iPhone and removed iTunes from my old laptop (his now).  Then I reinstalled iTunes on (his) handdown laptop and connected the iPhone and then went through the normal start up process. Unfortunately the iPhone still downloads applications I purchased to his iPhone 4.  Then when updates are shown on his phone, the iPhone account on the phone shows as mine despite his name being correct in Settings>Store>Apple ID.  Is there something in iTunes I need to do to deassociate my details? Thanks

    ChrisRNZ wrote:
do you mean delete the library content that appears to be mine from his iTunes application on his laptop?
Yep. Then delete your content that is currently on his phone. Once done, de-authorize this computer for your account: sign into iTunes, on his computer, using your Apple ID, then: Store>De-Authorize this Computer, then sign out. Sign back in using his Apple ID, then: Store>Authorize this Computer. Next, delete your content, currently on his phone. Then: Settings>Store...make sure his ID is the one being used on his phone. That should fix things.

  • How do I transfer my iTunes purchases from my old Apple ID to my new one

I have updated my e mail from gmail to icloud, and have changed login etc on everything connected with gmail. I updated my e mail address in my apple iD account on apple.com,i tunes, etc. I am trying to transfer all of my i tune purchases made with my g mail ID to my i cloud ID and just can not figure out how to do it. Any help would be great.

You can change your e-mail contact address in your account settings for an AppleID.  You cannot merge or transfer content from one AppleID to another.  You really, really only want to have one Apple ID and just upddate the contact information.

  • I downloaded a song yesterday and when i go to play it i only get the first four or five seconds, then it quits. When I check for available downloads, Apple says all songs have been downloaded to this computer. This last purchase didn't download.

    Launch iTunes on your computer.
From the menu bar click iTunes > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.

let's first check to see if this is associated with a problem with your QuickTime. (iTunes needs a properly functioning QuickTime in order to work correctly.)
try launching your QuickTime. does it:
    (a) launch perfectly fine?
    (b) fail to launch with an error message? (if so, what does it say?)
    (c) exhibit other peculiar behavior? (if so, could you describe it for us?)

  • How did Apple speed up 802.11ac and AFP in 10.8.5?

I understand that Apple sped up 802.11ac networking and AFP (Apple File Sharing) with 10.8.5, primarily to benefit Mac Book Airs. I find, playing with 10.8.5 and later, that this is actually a general speed up of local networking that also benefits Ethernet transfers through a gigabit switch.
In particular I ran a test. I have two computers involved, each of which is dual boot between two OS versions. The server machine, which was accessed to retrieve a large multigigabyte file in the test, is a Mac Mini 2011 with Lion 10.7.4 and Mountain Lion 10.8.5. The client machine is a early 2011 MacBook Pro, with Snow Leopard 10.6.8, and Mavericks 10.9.1. All tests had both machines wired to a Netgear R7000 router featuring gigabit LAN prots with cat 5e cables.
Test Case 1: Client running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 connected to Server running Lion 10.7.4: I was able to copy a large multigigabyte file from the server at a rate of 1.43 metric gigabytes (base 1000) per minute, achieving a real word data transfer speed of 190 mbps, far below the practical limit of gigabit Ethernet.
Test Case 2: Client running Mavericks 10.9.1 connected to Server running Mountain Lion 10.8.5: I was able to copy a large multigigabyte file from the server at a rate of 6.23 metric gigabytes (base 1000) per minute, achieving a real word data transfer speed of 828 mbps, which I figure is about the practical limit of gigabit Ethernet.
My question, is what did Apple do to tune the networking in 10.8.5? Are there TCP IP parameters I can change in the older OS's so they can do Ethernet fast also? Parameters I can tune in sysctl.conf? I am hoping a real network guru can come on here to advise on some advanced techniques I can use, since I have eliminated any question of the speed of my router, my computers, or my hard drives by the results I achieved in Test Case 2.
There are reasons I want to keep the older OSs around and would like them to network fast also.
(Also, for any/all OS versions, are there networking parameters that I can tune to speed up transfers that involve a very large number of very small files?)
    Thanks
