Apple tv in Belgium

hey,
i live in belgium and i am searching for a way to watch the mlb (baseball league). ESPN shows that on his channel, but is ESPN for free on the apple tv? Or is mlb tv for free on the apple tv?
maybe someone knows another way to watch the mlb?

A suscription is required to watch those on ATV. Without that all you can see are team schedules and real-time scores, standings, and stats

    I live in Belgium. I created a Netflix account using my firefox Uk proxy but netflix not appearing on Apple tv. i am pretty clueless about these things and hope someone knows what i need next. I have read some mention of need for VPN?

    Is the AppleTV connecting via that proxy?
    Is it up to date firmware wise?
    Have you got the country/location set to UK - Netflix sign-in interface  appears in UK without a Netflix subscription, but the menu entry may be disabled if you have a non-Netflix country set in Settings.

    I admit that I am still in the thinking phase of getting rid of my Toshiba Notebook (4 years old) and therefor making the switch from PCs to Macs complete.
    And upt to know I haven't had any kind of problems with my Macs (knock on wood )
    So I don't have any real-life figures of the costs.
    From what I have read in these Forum a replacement of a MBP Logic Board costs something around 400-500 Euros (appr. 250-300 Pounds).
    Diplay replacement should even cost more.
    I have bought my AppleCares after 10 months of possession of the Macs, since you must get AND register AppleCare within 1 year of possession of the Mac.
    So if funds are a bit low, I would propose to go that way.

  • Can anyone tell me how I can get my IPad 3G verizon (cracked glass from display) repaired from Belgium. They denied service twice ?

    I have purchased on the 29th of April 2011 in Florida US an Ipad WI-FI 3G 64GB  Verizon. Now I have a serious issue in getting this repaired. When I purchased the device I was told by the salesman of the store that I had global coverage in repairs and even going through the Apple support website this is confirmed but in practice this does not seem to be the case.
    I have offered my Ipad 2 for repair now twice in my Home coutnry Belgium and on both occasions was denied repair as I purchased the device in the US. I have contacted Apple support in Belgium, first time they confirmed I could get the repair the second time they told me that the device could not be repaired as it is a Verizon device and that I should contact Verizon instead. I contacted them in Europe but they refered me back to Apple.
    Now I do not know what to do anymore? I will gladly pay for the repair and will gladly send it by insured postal service to anywhere but since I do not live in the US I cannot stop by the store for repair.
    I hope anyone can help me with this issue?

    I'd love to know how Apple can expect a phone company to replace broken glass on their own product.
    Threaten them with media coverage on the issue, they'll realise you mean business.  If you get the same run around from the support person (who is most likely in a call centre in some Asian country) ask to speak to a Supervisor.
    The way I read the warranty it is supposed to be World-wide.

  • IMac Wireless Dropouts, slow speed , what is apple waiting for?!

    hello everyone!
    i switched a month ago from a pc to a mac (intel imac 20" , 2,4ghz)
    and i must say that it's great, except this : My wifi connections has a lot of trouble!
    a lot of dropouts , and even if i keep a strong signal for a while (yeah,some days it keep a descent signal!)
    i ALWAYS have slow internet speed (using firefox,but is the same with safari )
    my brother has a macbook pro , and at the same place, he got 100% full strength, and NO DROPOUTS
    a few days a go we buyed time capsule, we use it now as the main wifi routeur,because with the 80.11N we are supposed to have a MAX range extension , and more fast surfing!
    well,....my brother and my father ( macbook pro 5G & macbook pro 2009) , yes, they have a faster and stronger connection, but I HAVE IT WORST THAN WITH THE OLDER ROUTEUR ( US robotics 9108 with a 7db wifi antenna )
    and i just updated today, a security update was inculed, now i have dropouts EVERY 5-10 minutes!!
    so, i know a lot of people have this kind of problem here, it's not a new problem,so my question is simple :
    WHAT ARE THE SOLUTION TODAY? if solution there is!
    does apple work on this problem to fix it, or not?do they RECOGNIZE that there is a problem?
    and if there's no solution possible, can i connect a kind of "usb wifi key" like those for windows??
    hope that someone can give me a CLEAR answer , even if it is to tell me that it never will be resolved!

    litle update :
    i went to apple center (in belgium) to tell them my problem (still have warranty)
    they told me "bring us the imac we will check it",
    well, they said they "intensly" tested the airport cart and there was NO PROBLEM
    so, first of all, i had to pay the test... 180€!!!!!(233$) for TWO HOURS TESTING!!***!!! apple,do you have a job for me?
    second, when i placed the imac EXACTLY at the same place where he was before , NO AIRPORT PROBLEMS FOR SOME DAYS, always 100% signal and fast surfing
    but now problems are back!!!!and it **** me off!!i'm going to buy on of these usb wifi receiver to test :

    I want to buy the new iPhone 5S in Germany. Is there a problem when I use the iPhone in Belgium? I heard there is always a worldwide limited warranty of 1 year. Is this correct?

    If I don't have problems, there is no problem. But if I have a problem with the iPhone, can I go to an official Apple store in Belgium so they can send it to any place for repair?
    Apple in Belgium will handle the iPhone in exactly the same way had you purchased the iPhone in Belgium
    as long as it comes from another EU country .Apple do not repair they exchange for a refurbished unit if a warranty issue or charge for an Out of Warranty exchange  unit if you have damaged or caused the issue through misuse

  • Registration using Apple ID: wrong country!

    I have an existing Apple ID that I use for the Developer section and the Belgian iTunes Store. Since I registered for the Belgian iTunes Store, my country is set to Belgium.
    I just acquired a new 80GB iPod and when I try to register it using this Apple ID, it refers to the United States as country. How is this possible? I don't seem to be able to change this.

    So far, I haven't got any reaction to this problem. I think I will contact Apple here in Belgium and ask them how I can register my iPod another way.

  • I get bad information from Apple customer care and i lost my warranty !!!!

    hi i called the customer care to repair my iphone 5c and the advisor told me there are no Apple store in Belgium you have to go to paris, i have to pay 300euros to travel to paris !!! i bought a battery on eBay and i replaced the mine but the problem was not the battery but the logic board.
    i called i second time Apple customer care and the advisor told me you can take your iphone to Easy-m (repair center agreed by Apple inc.). i left my iphone to this shop and now he will not repair it for me because i opened this one.
    the first advisor told me there are no apple store in brussel and you have to travel to paris ... it's not my fault if the advisor was not good trained ... i bought my iphone and he still on warranty to 27 December i will this iphone 5c repaired

    Apple will not touch any iPhone that has been opened by anybody other than certified technicians, especially when they install an unknown battery from an unknown source.  You have sacrificed any support and warranty from Apple:

  • Battery health decreased rapidly after charging problems.

    Hy a few weeks ago the health of my mid 2010 MacBook Pro was still 79% which is normal since it has more than 1000 cycles.
    Then following incident happened:
    My battery was almost discharged, 30% or so, so I connected it to the AC power. After a while I wanted to see how much it was charged but the indicator in the corner still indicated the same 30% or so, only when I disconnected it it changed to something in the 80% range. I used my computer for a while like that and I noticed that the battery indicator was not chaning. Only when I connected or disconnected the AC power did it update.
    I decided to reboot the machine and this solved the problem. I recently noticed however that my battery health now dropped to 63% which seems very much in a short period of time.
    I know that normally charger will deliver less current to the battery when it is near 80% in order to prevent overcharging and maintain battery life as much as possible. I wonder however if the drastic decrease could be because of the power management thinking that the battery was only partly charged and thus delivering to much current to an almost full battery? If this is the case do you think that Apple would intervene for the costs of a new battery? I know I would have had to replace it sooner rather than later but this does change a lot I think. My computer is not in warranty anymore and I don't want to pay 49€ for one intervention. There are also no official Apple stores in Belgium and the authorised resellers really don't offer the same service.

    since your battery has over 1000 cycles and has 79% of its original full charge capacity remaining, Apple considers your battery “consumed”; they will not intervene for the cost of a new battery. It’s entirely your decision when to replace your battery, but irregular charging results are to be expected for as long as you use your present battery.
    If no Apple-authorized service center in Belgium offers the option of changing the battery, then you should let Apple know so that they can find an organization who will do so. I don’t know where you are in Belgium, but this search around Brussels shows seven different Apple-authorized service centers which all claim to service Macs, and the one in Aalst is noted as being a Premium service center.

  • Slow Mavericks - internal hard drive failure?

    I recently updated my iMac 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 4GB RAM to Mavericks. Before I was working on OS X Lion 10.7.5. Until the day I updated I never had any problems with my computer being slow, unless when I was using heavier applications or heavy files like in Adobe PS for example.
    Since I've updated however, it often happens that the icons in my launchpad load slowly, my computer shows the spinning circle more often, and especially Microsoft applications (Word and Excel) take much longer before they are launched. I don't think I have to explain how this is bugging me, since we all like a fast computer. So I kind of regret updating.
    I wanted to downgrade to 10.7.5 again, but this doesn't seem that easy even though I know my way around reformatting Apple computers…
    So this is kind of a last option. Now I went to the Apple store in Belgium, and they told me that it could be a bug and that I should wait for the next version (yeah right…) or that it could be my internal hard drive was failing. Now I tried to find some information on how to recognize a failing hard drive, but I mostly bumped in to extreme errors. So I was wondering how to know your internal drive is failing? Second of all could it be failing all of a sudden? Since I hadn't had those problems before I updated. Thirdly is it possible that the next update would solve these problems, as they mentioned? Could a clean install help?
    Anyway, I find it pretty weird, and there's a lot of different opinions and options, so I would like a more expert view on the problem, so get to a solution and an answer whether or not my disk could be failing, cause then I would like to get it replaced.

    I was copying files to my external drive a few minutes ago, and my computer was reaaaally slow at that time. So I figured opening the Activity monitor and I took some screen shots:
    The only thing I tried to interpret is the CPU tab. It shows 94.67% was inactive, and still my computer was being terribly slow… Is this normal and is this the right interpretation?

    hello every one, i baught an iphone 5 model a1428 in October in US new yoke.
    Now i am having trouble with my Iphone their are purple lines on my screen when i take a pic and their are dirt marks in my lens.
    i gave the phone to an apple store in Belgium because i live their. now they are saying they cant fix the phone beclouds  its from US.
    is it possible to get is fixed somewhere else or do i need to go back to US

    No. It will be replace with the exact same model you have now. Just as the service centers in Europe do not have US model phones for replacements, US Apple stores do not have European model phones.
    If you want phone you can get serviced in your country, then sell the one you have and buy one in your own country.

  • Iphone5 select carrier

    My i phone 5  iOS 7.1.2 lost connection to carrier, it did not prompt for sim pin and the change carrier option was missing from settings, The phone was always "searching" for carrier.
    The sim was ok and properly installed.
    The phone is unlocked and  my usual home network is in Belgium. The fault started after a one day trip to Finland.  At first I thought it was roaming issue, but it was  still there when I returned home. 
    Reset, network reset, on off etc did not work. I could not restore because "find my iphone" could not be switched off.
    I contacted apple support and after checking the same things that I had already checked they were not able to fix and suggested taking to a local apple authorised dealer. I have apple care ( which is not sold here in Belgium) and supposed to provide global coverage I had a hard time trying to convince the Belgium apple dealer that they should  support a phone not from Belgium. Really the apple service in Belgium is very bad!. 
    In in any case. After some web research I found a solution. This was to  put the phone in recovery mode and then undertake a full restore (after backing up first).  It took a long time and you need to set up again from scratch, however it now seems to be working.
    I have the impression that there are now more and more bugs which require work arounds to overcome. apple seems not to test sufficiently before launching.  The joy of apple products used to be that it was simple and would always work, this was the difference compared to others.  However  that seems to be no longer the case, this really impacts on the product experience and makes me look at other devices.

    I have had the same issue with a few people. Unhappy that I have to restore or reset to factory. Has it happened again to you?

  • MacBook Pro, a short summary of problems

    Hello,
    My father bought a MacBook Pro in june, assuming he had just bought a high quality product.
    However...
    In august, the problems began. Mostly the MacBook Pro wouldn't boot properly and he kept giving a nice blue screen.
    And it often occured (when he had booted alright) that an application was closed due to an error and after such an error I could, under no circumstances, open that application again. The only solution in that case was a reboot, which as you could imagine, didn't always go so smoothly (cfr the blue screen)
    Note: we bought it at a local Apple retailer (Saturn, Belgium) who had a promotion going on at that time.
    So we returned with our MacBook Pro to the shop.
    They took it in for repair (like posted in warranty), after which we lost it for a month.
    When we went back for it they told us that the motherboard was the cause, and that they had replaced it.
    Oké, we think: problems solved.
    ... guessed wrong
    That same day we had the same errors re-occuring again.
    This time we kept it a few days hoping it was temporary, but ofcourse it wasn't.
    But this time we took it to a Switch shop (at Saturn the told us, if we wanted the MacBook Pro to be repaired quicker than they did, we should bring it to a Switch shop)
    After a week we could go to the shop to reclaim it.
    They charged us €40 for the repair of a product that is under warranty!!
    The people at Switch said us the motherboard (the one that Apple put in it with the last repair, a few weeks before) had been broken...so they replaced it.
    Their explanation for the price: "we had te reconfigure the software"
    So now we have it back but it isn't working properly (again!)
    Oh and we can perform any software-updates either (or anything else which requires an admin-password), because the password we have appears to be incorrect now. So they changed it for some strange reason to we don't know what...
    What can we do?
    The MacBook Pro, generally regarded to be one of the best laptops for private use, gave us nothing but frustrations and problems so far and costed us even €40 and lots of fuel.
    In the Apple Limited One Year warranty it states that Apple can (1) replace broken parts (2) give us an equal replacement product or (3) pay back the price we bought it at.
    After they tried option (1) two times now, with no succes, don't we have the right for a replacement or a payback??
    Is it legit the charge us for a repair?
    Place give you (un)salted opinion and some help to my cause.

    *One more motherboard replacement* I suspect it has nothing to do with the motherboard, since two motherboards have been replaced and you're still having problems.
    *Can't we claim a replacement product or a payback, like posted in the warranty?* Presumably you can claim a replacement product. You just need do decide which way to go. i.e.:
    (a) ask for a replacement, in which case there's no need for you to be in here, or
    (b) try to fix the computer, in which case you should do what I suggested earlier.

  • Screen has a red hue (iPad1)

    Hello.
    I've got a noticable red hue on the screen of my iPad1. It is clearly visible (even more when there's another ipad side by side) and it drives me mad.
    Is this a well known issue and am I eligible for an exchange? I saw a few people reporting a red hue months ago and they all had their iPad exchanged in Apple Stores.
    Unfortunatly, there are no official Apple Stores in Belgium, so I may have to send it to the repair service for days before getting an answer.
