Apple TV keeps asking my for my Credit Card verification code and I punch it in, still asks me for it, and restarted everything, went to my computer, checked the code, all is set, still can't rent a movie. Please help!
Apple TV keeps asking my for my 3digit Credit Card verification code and I punch it in, it still asks me for it, and went to my computer on iTunes store, checked the code, all is set and saved, go back to Apple TV still can't rent a movie, I still get the same Verification Required message without any further information after I punch in my 3digits. When I hit submit, the page goes back to the same place to type the code again, and yes the code is 100% accurate. I tried restoring the apple tv, every thing is up to date on all devices and signed in and out of my itunes store on my Mac, still no luck. Please help!

to determine if there are the same problems you are experiencing. I have spent over 6 hours on this issue trying to isolate if it is a hardware, software, network, iTunes account, or Apple device issue. My initial results indicate it is a software specific issue related to the Apply TV hardware device.

There is no solution other than having the device cleared by the former owner. If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it. -
Getting the average of a set of numbers, confused by file IO, please help!
What i need to do is get the average of a set of numbers, the problem is that i am reading these numbers in from files in different directories where each file returns a number, and the average for the directory is the numbers for each file in that directory added together and divided by the number of files in that directory.

In the above code, totalForDirectory contains the number for each file, i want to add together the result of this variable for each file, "file[i]" in the directory, and divide that by the number of files in that directory.

ThanksWhat you want, It seems to me, is a recursive routine (for directories) which returns both a total and a filecount. Then these can be totalled at each level (togther with the count for each file).
Probably the best approach is to pass a small object in which the totals are accumulated.
Define a class something like:

Obviously you create an Accumulator for the first scan directory call which becomes the grand total. -

My iTunes stopped being able to import all commercial CDs! I keep getting this message: The song names for this CD could not be found online. Do you still want to import the songs? These are store-bought, mainstream artists. Never had problems before. This is a new Mac Book pro. I am temporarily relocating and was transferring most of my commercial CDs to Itunes. Went through about 100 CDs, including a dozen today, and now none will read. I tried downloading new software (it was up-to-date), and quitting and restarting. It seems that everyone who had this problem that I found on Internet searches was trying to import burned discs. Please help
So far, there are three of us who've posted a similar problem, in the last hour or so. It may be working for you now; it has started working for some, but it's still not working for me. It's not your Mac. It seems to be something related to Gracenote Media Database.
Your statement says it's stopped importing the commercial CD's but I think you mean it will import them, but not recognize song titles or album titles, even though your CD's are regular commercial CDs. If that's the case, you are experiencing the same thing I am. -
I just bought a new Ipad mini a while ago, and created a new apple ID *********** , I can't download anything on apps store, it keeps on asking for a credit card but I don't have one. Can I create an account without a credit card?

Want to create Apple ID for both my children's IPad's. Tried creating new email account for my son and it will not let me. I want them to be only able to purchase from redeemed gift cards and everytime it asks me to update credit card info on their Ipad.
Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful. -
When I try to set up an Apple ID, it's asking for a credit card, and there is no "None" option, like this page suggests. How can I bypass this? This iPad is for a younger child who has no credit card, and will not need to make any purchases.
You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP
4. Create New Apple ID
5. Confirm Your Country
6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
8. Create and answer your secret question
9. Select NONE for Payment Method
10. Fill in Billing Address
11. Submit application for new Apple ID
12. Wait for verification email
13. When email arrive, verify your account
14. Start downloading your free apps -

App store keeps asking for my credit card info for free apps!??
Every time I go to get a free app, I keep getting asked for my credit card info to be updated. If it's free, why is my credit card info needed!?? I don't want to get charged, so I cancel out of the credit card request, it's not worth trying to get unwanted charges taken off. I would write to Apple but for some strange reason they refuse to use email for help. So, guess I will just try here.

Even I do faced same issue on my iphone 5 recently, because I had updated my credit card details while purchasing 'whats app'. Later on if I try do down load free apps, it started asking me verify payment info..I got frustrated and tried to remove apple id and create the same id and reset networksettings, but issue not resolved.!!
Possible scenarios of it occures:
1. While creating your apple id you might have given credit card info an dlater that got modified/expired
2. Once you buy anything by using credit card that info will be updated to your apple id, so it asks every time
Resolution:
Just remove your credit card details from payment information
setting > icloud > account > payment information -- remove ur credit card info , done done
Then try to download free app, it will only asks for apple password, It will not ask for 'payment verification'

Help - have an iTunes account on iPad for well over a year. Just bought iPhone 5 and I cannot purchase apps using my account. I am asked to verify my credit card and details but then it rejects them. They are still fine on the iPad. Any ideas?
I tried to contact support but they do not recognise my Thai phone number.
the Thai support site is all in Thai (and I neither read or write it).
All I want is a single email address that works - it must be quite a simple process.
I don't want to create another account with another credit card - life will just get seriously complicated then.
BTW my apple I'd is accepted for downloading free apps!!!First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.

To purchase and update apps, even free ones with the standard account you need a valid payment method. You can use a CC or redeem an iTunes gift card.
You can create a NEW account using these instructions. You have to use an email address not used with Apple before. You can't update any apps purchased with another account using this account.
