  • Apogee Duet keeps disconnecting after update to Snow Leopard

I updated to Snow Leopard (10.6.8 ) yesterday and now for some reason my Apogee Duet sound card keeps disappearing and randomly disconnecting.... It then automatically switches to my screen display audio. Very annoying.
If i pull out the fire wire cable and reconnect, it temporarily comes back but then vanishes again without warning.
I doubt it's anything to do with the cable because I have been using it since 2010 without any problems until yesterday...
Any ideas on how to fix this? Please help!

Delete Duet software package with uninstaller and install the latest software package or reset Duet?
    Or resetting NVRAM.

  • Applications keep freezing after updates are installed...

My MacBook (Santa Rosa model) cannot seem to run any applications with out having them freeze every few clicks. It happened after updating from 10.5 to 10.5.6, with quite a few other updates installed at the same time as well. This happens to pretty much every application I run. What should I do?

Try downloading the Mac OS X 10.5.6 combo updater and install it.

  • Itunes keeps freezing after update....

    Hi,
I have had my Itunes library on a external drive through my airport extreme for some time now and have had no problems. When I updated my OS to Leopard and Itunes10 I started having problems with Itunes freezing. I realized I needed to mount my drive before opening Itunes and this seemed to work. But after the most recent update Itunes has started freezing again or just taking a really long time to load and when I access my library through my 2nd gen Apple tv it now locks up Itunes. If my Itunes is frozen I can turn off my airport and it unfreezes but I have to reconnect with my library and it just freezes up again. Can anyone help Ive tried everything it seems.....

    Hi...
Has an answer been posted to this? I have exactly the same issues; and it is driving me absolutely insane! It keeps on freezing/unfreezing and has become incredibly slow!!! It takes me up to an hour to add 4 tracks to the library...
I upgraded my entire IT to Mac because of the iTunes integrations, but now I am starting to regret it!

  • Macbook keeps freezing after updating software

Recently I took my Macbook in for repair and got a brand new hard drive. I was looking forward to having an actual working laptop and started to copy my files over. After installing all the programs and updating the OS, the macbook suddenly gives me a black screen and tells me to restart. I restart the laptop and it freezes at the white screen with the logo on it. I figured i would reformat it and try it again. Same problem happened.
Ever since I've gotten my laptop back, I have reformated it about 5 times. This is not normal for ANY laptop and other windows laptops don't have this problem at all. I'm very disappointed in Apple and don't really feel like going back to the Apple store for another hard drive. Does anyone have the same problem or is it just me?
I'm using the 13' Aluminum Macbook, 2.0 ghz, 4 gig ram, 160 GB 5400 Sata Hard drive, Model Identifier Macbook5, 1

Did you try simply running disk repair from the startup DVD?
It may also be that there is hardware besides your HDD that is causing the kernel panic. Next time you start up, hold down the "d" key and see what it tells you.
Some people recommend a program called Rember to test RAM specifically. You can download it from versiontracker here:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/52452
Two HDDs in a row should not fail. If it has to go back to Apple again, demand that they call it a lemon and that they give you a completely new machine.

  • Wifi on iPad freeZing after update

    wwifi keeps freezing after update.

    Hey F.hodgkiss,
Thanks for the question. The following resource outlines the basic troubleshooting steps for Wi-Fi connectivity. I have also included the steps related to the symptoms you may be experiencing:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your W-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
    Tap  and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
Unable to access the Internet while connected to Wi-Fi
If you're using a public or commercial network, you may need to log in or subscribe.
Check to see if you have a self-assigned IP address:
    Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected and tap ( i ) .
If your IP address is 169.254.xxx.xxx, you may not be able to access the Internet.
If you do not have a self-assigned IP address, see if other Wi-Fi devices on your network have Internet access.
If they do not, consult with your network administrator or ISP for further assistance.
If they do, reset network settings on your device by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • I own a late 2009 Macbook Pro, and it keeps freezing after OSX Lion installation.

I own a late 2009 Macbook Pro, and it keeps freezing after OSX Lion installation.  I will post my computer's 'specs' below.  I installed Lion, from Snow Leopard, through the App store.  The first week, it worked like a dream, and was loving my brand new computer, or so it seemed.  I then began to run into problems, and I can't confirm this 100%, but I believe it was after I updated from 10.7.1, to 10.7.2.
The freezes are sporatic at best, and cannot be narrowed down to one app.  I googled the issue about two weeks ago, and found a fix involving a temporary log-in, verifying the disk, restarting the computer holding CMD+R, and repairing the disk from there.  That fixed the problem.  For about three or four days.  From there I brought my laptop to Best Buy, where I purchased the computer (start the groans, my dad wanted the accidental damage, and he was paying, there was no argument).  My warranty there was still good, but all they were offering was to check my hard-drive, and possibly ship it out.  That would not be good for me, as I am a High School student, who works online.
So I then decided to go to the Apple store, see what they said.  They said a bunch of people had this problem, it would cost a lot to fix, as I would need a new Logic Board.  This did not make any sense to me, as I knew it was Lion's fault, so why would they not make the L-2009MBP Logic Board compatible, and why are only a few people having this problem, well a lot more than a few, but I mean not everyone.
So I asked a friend about it, and we decided to run a back up, and erase the computer, and re-install Lion.  Figuring maybe my data was corrupted during install.  This helped for a day or two, and happened again.  So this time, we backed up only files (music, pics, documents, etc.,) and did a fresh install.  I got my computer back last night.  Now, I am not saying that didn't help.  Previously I would have frozen about 18 times well writing this, but I have not frozen once (hopefully I didn't just jinx myself).  I have gone from about one freeze every 10-15 minutes (sometimes worse), to about one every 1-3 hours.  Which, let's be honest is still a lot.
So, before I just decide to go and revert to Snow Leopard on my merry way, I ask, do any of you have any other ideas?  Or guarenteed fixes?  I know a guarentee is a hard thing to ask for, but I am desperate, my teachers are getting angry with me for not sending work, and I know this would help a lot of people.  Thank you to those who read through my whole spiel, and thank you to those who will help me!
[Ps, while I am somewhat of a noob, I know my way around a computer, so any help, or knowledge you could bestow upon me is awesome.  Especially DIY fixes.  (if your only advice is, don't buy a mac at Best Buy, don't bother commenting)]
    Macbook Pro
    15-inch, 2.53GHz, Mid 2009
Processor:  2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory:  4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics:  NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
    Software:  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74)

Once it is downloaded you need to restart the computer if it does not restart automatically. When it next starts up you should note a progress bar appearing below the Apple logo. When done the computer will restart once more. The new firmware should now be installed.

  • After updating to snow leopard  and trying to delete mackeeper flash player will no longer work. Can anyone help me?

After updating to snow leopard and trying to delete mackeeper, Flash player is being blocked and will not allow me to view utubes. Can anyone help?

Here are instructions for eradicating MacKeeper - you may need to re-install it to uninstall it fully:

Regarding Flash - there are many reports on here that v13.x isn't working for a lot of people. distractme in the following thread posted instructions on how to install the previous version, which should work whilst Adobe work on a fix:

  • Safari and other aplications super slow after update to Snow Leopard. Installed the update combo and nothing happened, still super super slow. Any tips to solve this?

After updating to Snow Leopard (to install Lion later), Safari and other aplications became super super slow and Preview is not working properly, I can't print anything that was opened with Preview. Already installed the Combo update, nothing happened, Safari still taking hours to load any site. I honestly regret downloading Snow Leopard, the older version worked so much better... Hope Lion is smarter than Snow Leopard...

You can try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Home sharing does not work after update to snow leopard 10.6.4 and iTunes 9

I am using home sharing since about a year without any problems. After updating to snow leopard 10.6.4 and iTunes 9.2 it suddenly does not work anymore.
On my iMac and my Mac Book Pro I get error code 3259 and it tells me to check my firewall and to enable Port 3689.
I did not change anything in the firewall settings, itunes on both allows data traffic in both directions. I also do not find any option to activate a port ( also wondering why this is suddenly now necessary)
I deactivated home sharing on both machines and enabled it again. It still does not work.
On both machines iTunes displays the the library on the left side but like said it is not accessable
With Finder I can access the other computer from both machines without any problem.
Any help to solve this would be very much appreciated

first of all, if you are behind a router firewall, and have your network secured (WPA2 and a long, non-dictionary password made up of letters and numbers), you don't need the software firewall on your Mac(s).
@ least turned if off for troubleshooting purposes.
turn home sharing off on both computers, and make sure
    (a) both Macs have access to the internet
    (b) iTunes on both machines is authorized for the same iTunes account.
turn home sharing back on on both Macs.
    does it work ?

  • I purchased a Mac book pro in oct 2011, I restarted it after updating and it,s stuck on apple symbol, I hit command R while restarting and clicked on disk utility. It says disk can't be repaired, apple wants $249 to tell me what's wrong. Please help!

I purchased a mac book pro in oct 2011, I restarted it after updating and it,s stuck on apple symbol, I hit command R while restarting and clicked on disk utility. It says disk can't be repaired, apple wants $249 to tell me what's wrong. Please help!

What Apple store told you they wanted $249.00 to tell what is wrong?
If this is a 13" Macbook Pro then that is the cost of the Extended Applecare warranty. As you are outside the 90 days of Free Phone Support then what Apple told you is that to get Phone Support you would either need to pay $45 per phone call or pay $249.00 for the Applecare extended warranty which comes with 3 years Free Phone Support from date of purchase.
Or you can take it to a Apple Genius Bar and have them look at it for Free.
Every Mac comes with 1 year warranty and includes only 90 days of phone support. You can buy the extended Applecare warranty anytime within the first year of ownership, IE until the 1 year warranty runs out.
I suggest you have your computer looked at by either an Apple Authorized Repair Center or Genius Bar and then before the 1 year warranty runs out buying the extended warranty

  • HT1365 How can I get my iPhone 4 to update my updates from my app store of it keeps telling me error 3150 or it tell me to refresh the page after updates and the updates are still there asking me to update them again

How can I get my iPhone 4 to update my updates from my app store of it keeps telling me error 3150 or it tell me to refresh the page after updates and the updates are still there asking me to update them again?

Make sure iTunes on the computer is logged into the account on the phone.
    Plug the iPhone in.
In the popup window warning about wiping your phone, hit cancel.
In the left pane of iTunes, the phone icon should be there.
Right click on it, select transfer purchases.
Note: this will only transfer music bought from iTunes. Not mp3's from amazon or ripped from CD's.

  • Safari and Flash after updating to Snow Leopard

After updating to Snow Leopard, Safari will no longer display any flash content. I have tried reinstalling flash as well as uninstalling/reinstalling. Firefox works correctly so I know I do have the correct flash installed. Any advice? Thanks.

I have a similar problem. The rendering is wrong after updating to Snow Leopard 10.6.
The 10.6.1 doesn't solve the problem.
The rendering problem is on Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
I've tried to uninstall Flash using the Adobe uninstaller and re-install.
    It doesn't solve the problem.
On my MacBook Air, I've updated to Snow Leopard, and no problem. Flash is working correctly.
