Apple TV no longer works off-line

Trying to figure out if this is just me.
It is normal for me to power down my modem at night but leave my router on-line.
Previously this has not caused a problem with my apple TV since the network is up still just no internet access. I did it tonight however after updating my apple TV and it would no longer play content.
It would connect to my library and see the content but when I went to play it the message was my computer "was not authorized".
Now this has happened a long time ago (the authorization going away on my iMac) so I simply restarted the internet to authorize it again only to find out it had not lost the authorization.
Power down the modem again and try my apple TV only to get the same "not authorized"
Does the latest update to the Apple TV require an internet connection to play content now?

Prior to this last update:
If my cable went out I could still watch iTunes purchased content on my ATV.
When the cable is down the ATV will see my library you can select albums, TV shows, movies, etc and it will tell you the information but if you try to play iTunes purchased content it will not let you because it can't "verify" the authorization.
I find this confusing because I have never stored my iTunes user name or password in my ATV so I was under the impression it always played content as long as the computer connected to the ATV was authorized for that library.
I can play iTunes purchased content on my computer without an internet connection so I am confused as to what the ATV is trying to "verify" that it can't without an internet connection.

My 82 year old dad downloaded your latest update and he installed it. He used default installation as he does not know how to do custom. Use "Alt" key to show menu bar temporarily the on the File menu uncheck "work offline".

Having the same problem with one I bought with my iPad in the Regent Street Apple Store. Not sure why it wouldn't work unless the OS now needs the lightening Connector certificate to use a card now.
I am hoping there will be a fix real soon or maybe someone knows a work around?

Apple remote no longer works?!

Hi everyone,
I recently replaced the 120 GB hard drive with a 200 GB hard drive, clean install (no disk imaging or time machine). I did it myself having seen it been done before and relatively knowledgeable about computer hardware. I grounded myself and was careful to put everything back as I saw it.
Everything went well EXCEPT *my Apple Remote no longer works*. The light in the button to open the laptop works fine and my remote works on other computers, but in System Preferences the option to pair the remote doesn't even exist anymore. I understand I probably screwed something up when I opened my laptop up, but I have a few questions first.
My first question is this: *Is there some sort of software setting/diagnostic that I can run to test the connection to the infrared receiver?*
My other question is: *Is there anything special I should know about the infrared receiver hardware? Any known issues, typical problems, or things I should check to make sure everything is connected?*
I've double-checked the connection, the receiver is DEFINITELY connected to the mini-strip (along with the button light).

The Hardware Tests (boot from the install DVD and hold d) should show if the receiver isn't working.
In System Preferences/Security is "Disable remote control infrared receiver" checked by any chance, try checking/un-checking it and see if Pair lights up ? (I don't Pair, I leave it to work with any remote as I have three floating about)

Sorry, we are having some temporary server issues. You can work off line if you plan to insert pictures from your computer

We have about 200 users that connect to three terminal servers. On the servers we have Office 2013 installed. Several users are stating that when they attempt to search for templates or insert Online Pictures, they are getting error messages of "Sorry,

Remember, they are connecting to a terminal server, all have roaming profiles, and for some users this works fine.
We've Googled the error message and found no help. A lot of responses was to reset the IE settings, which we've tried to no avail.
Also as a test, we took one of the users that was having the issue and deleted their profile. When they logged back on the server, the same problem occurred again.
We're currently at a loss as to why it works for some users and not others?
Any ideas out there?

Firefox goes into work off line mode and will not connect to the internet

Firefox randomly disconnects from the internet. The work off line option is somehow checked and when un- checked Firefox will still not connect. A re-boot of the computer most often solves the problem. This is new and I have not made any changes recently. Running Fox 3.6.3

Yep - CC products only need to "phone home" to the activation server once every thirty days, and aside from that can be used offline with no problems - although you obviously lose the ability to sync with Lr Mobile.

Few time's today i have gone on internet but it's telling me im off line, i did a bt check which check's your connection and it tell's me that the connection is fine. But it's still say's im working off line and a then bo come's up asking weither i want to connect... Any ideas what's going on? And do i need a filter attached to my phone wire? or is there already a filter built into phone socket?

If you have Infinity installed then the new faceplate fitted by the enginner has all the filtering required in it. So no further filters needed,
(Michael's aka ypt "special" installation excepted).
If your infinity installation is new then the 10 day training period may have intermittant disconnections.
One other thing I had problems with my PC running winXP where it wasn't connecting and the BT software kept coming up do I want to fix the problem... so I say yes then go thru choosing the picture of router etc and away it went and connected.
Bloomin' nuisance.... I cured the problem by removing the BT software and now stay connected.
I'll see if I can find that post... Found it HERE my reply in msg #2.
Another thought....
If your connecting over wireless it may be worth connecting over a wired, ethernet connection to your Hub as a test to see if your getting interference.
If a wired connection works ok then you can change your HH3 wireless channel and go back to a wireless connection.
Innsider is a good scanner to help you identify a better channel to move the HH3 router to.
A clear channel with none of your neighbours wireless signals on it is best however if it's crowded then choose a channel to share that has the fewer signals/weakest signal on it.
Or it may just be an Infinity "off" day. They happen I plodded along intermittently for a while see HERE then a while later things mysteriously got better without me doing a thing.

Apple Remote no longer working?!?

I'm hoping someone can help me. All of the sudden my Apple Remote is no longer working with my Macbook. I checked to make sure the infrared sensor was not disabled and even changed the battery just in case. I know the remote is working because I can see the light blinking on the remote when I look at it through photo booth, but I still can't get it to work with my computer. I can't even get it to pair with it. I am running iTunes 8 and OS 10.5.5. Any suggestions or ideas as to how to fix this?? Thanks!

If you know someone else with an Apple remote, you might try theirs on your MacBook. Since the option to disable the IR receiver appears in the Security System Preferences we can assume that Mac OS X sees the receiver and the hardware is functioning. (If the IR receiver hardware or software had failed, it would not appear in the Security System Preferences.) So, that would seem to indicate a problem with the Apple remote. But, we can't really say that for certain unless you can prove a different remote does work. If you do go to the Apple store and can show them that the remote is not working, as long as you're still under warranty, they can probably just hand you a new remote. Or you could buy a new one if you're not still under warranty or AppleCare.

Apple Mail No longer working

My email has been working just fine until a couple of months ago. I gave up however I do miss receiving email on my MacBook Pro. I'm receiving my emails using my iPhone and if I log in to yahoo! however it stopped working with Apple Mail. I have not changed any of the settings so I am puzzled why it is no longer working. For the last couple of months I've been trying to figure out why but I've had no luck.
My email account is an sbcglobal.net account. Also my other friend is having the same issue with his sbcglobal.net account. So now I'm wondering if a lot of people are having the same issue.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

When I open the 'Mail' app, it puts an exclamation mark next to my "Inbox" - "unable to receive mail - there may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account "Home Email" or try again".
Here is what I have in my settings:
Account Information tab:
Description: Home Email
Email Address: xxxxxxxxxx
Incoming Mail Server: inbound.att.net
User Name: it's my email address
Password: my password
Under the Advanced tab I have Port "995" with use SSL checked - and the authentication is set to "password"
Outgoing Mail Server SMTP:
Server Name: outbound.att.net
Use custom port: 465
Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is "checkedd"
Authenticaton: it is set to "Password"
User Name: my email address
Password is the same one I put under my incoming settings.

Welcome to the HP Support forums. I see that you are unable to print because your HP printer is showing as offline.
To better assist you, would you please provide some further information:
What make/model/product number of HP printer do you have? Guide to finding your product number
How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)?
What operating system are you using (Windows 7, Mac 10.8, or Windows 8, etc)?
Are you getting any other error messages other than the printer is offline? If yes, what is the error message and where is it displayed (computer or printer)?
What program are you trying to print from (Microsoft Word, Notepad, web browser, etc)?

Trying to renewKaspersky anti virus, keeps saying internet explorer is set to work off line, it isn't, is this Foxfire interferring??

I'm trying to renew Kaspersky anti virus program. it keeps telling me that it can't because my internet explorer is set to off line, I checked and work offline is NOT checked,
Is the problem because I've brought in mozilla firefox and kaspersky is not reading this? if so, how do I renew Kaspersky without eliminating Firefox??
