Apple TV no picture

We have had no problems using the Apple TV until 2 weeks ago. The puck has power but does not show anything on the TV. No sound, no picture. We have tried unplugging everything, moving the hdmi to a different port, using a new hdmi cable - nothing works.

tried connecting it using the usb to the computer and restoring it?

Apple TV 2 picture goes black for no aparent reason, just for a second every now and again, no Jailbreak, software is up to date.
Happens witth the iOS 6 and the one before, not shure about previous iOS versions.
It´s not the Cable, Wifi or Lan.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)

When showing iPhoto library pictures using apple tv the pictures display in a random/scrambled manner rather than in order they are in in the event or album i try to show. How do i get them to show in proper order?

Apple TV showing picture to connect micro SD to iTunes?

When I turn on Apple TV a picture shows up showing to connect t micro SD to music notes (which I assume is iTunes ). Any suggestions what this means and why is it showing this ? I am unable to click on to anything pass this and the white light in the Apple TV box will not light .

It's for a micro usb cable and it's telling you to connect to iTunes so you can restore the unit.

I don't have any direct experience with D-Link equipment, but I may be able to provide some general advice. See if you can use a Web browser to connect to the D-Link's configuration screen. This probably involves visiting a URL such as http://www.192.168.0.1 . If you haven't changed the sign-on parameters, a quick Google search should find them for you.
Once there, note as many configuration details as you can find. You'll need those to configure your Time Capsule.
Use the AirPort Utility to configure the Time Capsule.
One last thing: It's quite possible that the Verizon network will have locked onto the "MAC" address of your D-Link router. Something needs to be done to reset this. If there's a separate box at your house that came with the FIOS equipment that's "upstream" from the D-Link router, I'd cycle power on it to see if that does the job. Otherwise you'll probably need to call Verizon to ask them to reset things once your Time Capsule is installed in place of the D-Link router.

Apple TV shows pictures sideways!

Hi, I have seen a number of posts on this topic - yet no answers on what is going on. Is Apple TV simply a flawed product?
When it streams pictures, many show up sideways. This doesn't happen with my Apple iMac screen saver, it doen't happen in Lightroom, it does not happen on my Windows 7 PC or my XBOX 360.
What gives Apple? I see tons and tons of people complaining about this simple technical glitch and no fix. I am NOT going and adjusting my pictures to satisfy some issue with Apple TV.
Has anyone come across a fix? APPLE - WHAT IS THE FIX?

TRying to mirror foxtel go with air play on my Apple TV. I can get audio but no picture. Just the foxtel go logo. Is there a work around?

If you examine the posts listed in "More Like This" (on the right -->) you will find that foxtel go appears not to play well with Apple TV. Perhaps the developers failed to support it or decided not to support it for legal reasons. (They may have licensed content only for the iPad itself and not for larger screens, for example.)

My apple tv is all working but i get no picture. I've checked all the cables etc, performed a reset but still nothing. It was working then it just stopped. Does anybody have any ideas apart from taking it back to the retailer?

Power cycle the ATV.

Hi-I have a Apple TV (1st generation). When I go under devices in Itunes and I try to explore its content I can't see anything but pictures and settings. But even when I go in settings there is nothing I can do. Bottom line I can't see the hard disk usage what's in the apple tv etc etc...it's not the firs time that happens to me but other times it went right quickly

Try force closing Mail: double-tap the Home button, locate Mail in the list at the bottom, tap and hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, finish by tapping the Home button. Open Mail again and see if it's fixed now.

New Apple TV - No Picture

Hi, unpacked and plugged my Apple TV in just now and there is no picture being displayed on my TV. HDMI Cable works, unit is powered on (steady light) but no Picture.

I just bought mine today and had the same issue ... try the following
1. Switch off everything ( TV, Apple TV and the ethernet or wireless)
2. Wait 30 secs
3. Connect the TV and Apple TV
4. Turn on everything
5. Check if you have selected the correct input on TV screen.
6. In case you get no signal or a blank screen even when the light on apple tv is solid white then here is are two options
A) press and hold both menu and down button until the light on apple tv flashes quickly, then release and wait for the light to go solid ( this would reset and solve), if still having issue
B) press the menu and up button for 6 sec and the light would blink exactly as it blinked when starting up .... this would reset the screen resolution in alingment to the one required. setting up frequency etc.
Would solve the issue. Let me know if this helped.

Air play from my iphone 5 to my apple tv-no picture

Does anyone know why I cna't get a picture when using airplay from my iphone 5 to my apple tv. I can use air play with my mac book air.

Make sure you have updated to the Apple TV Software to version 5.2.

What are you trying to play when the problem happens? Does it happen with all pictures or videos from all apps?

Apple TV - No Picture on Menu

I updated the Apple TV over an Ethernet connection and now it will not display picture, only a blank screen. Its working in the back ground as I can hear beeps when I press the remote.
I've held Menu/+ and the Apple Logo appears and I am able to try all picture formats. When I press 'OK' the screen goes blank again.
To confuse things further when the AppleTV goes into sleep mode it starts displaying my photos on my TV screen.
Any ideas?

what video resolution do you have the appletv set to ?
if it's not set to 720p then change it to that and see if the problems go away.
also, if the appletv is displaying photos then it is not in sleep mode.

I had downloaded a programme from a series which WAS fine,then a subsequent download of another episode in the same series ruined the 1st. Does anyone know what is wrong? I have also download some free programmes since then and the sound is fine on those.

Apple TV loses picture output and status light flashes rapidly after 5 minutes hooked up via HDMI - DVI cable

Apple TV connected to a 2005 50" plasma monitor with DVI input via belekin HDMI to DVI cable. Unit worked perfectly long enough to get it connected to the wireless network and begin the itunes registration process when there was a loss of signal message on the screen from the monitor and the Apple TV status light flashed rapidly and continuously. Reset and reboot yeilded flashing rapid status light and no output detected from the monitor. I contacted support online and was told to return the unit to the apple store. I returned home with another brand new apple tv and connected it in the same manner with exactly the same results. Is there something with the HDMI - DVI interface that is causing this? Are there known issues with the HDMI - DVI connection to Apple TV with older plasma monitors?

The Apple TV doesn't actually support DVI. Some have managed to get it to work others have had varying issues with it.
