Apple TV not quite right, restarts needed often - are they all this way?
I have a 40GB Apple TV that I keep in 'Sync' mode with my Mac Pro iTunes library. Most of the time, about 65%, the Apple TV works just fine. But the other times here are the odd and random issues I get:
• When buying TV Shows or movies I get an "Accessing iTunes Store" that just sits there spinning forever. A restart often solves the issue, and sometimes after the restart the "Ready to Play" dialog box pops up first thing.
• After waking the Apple TV after a day of inactivity, I will go to play an encoded movie (that is coming from the Mac Pro) and Apple TV will say "File type not supported" or something like that. Waiting 5 minutes, or restarting, fixes the issue and the very same movie file plays fine.
• Though mine is set to 'sync' within iTunes, this still allows me to play movies and music via 'streaming'. But this is very inconsistent. Sometimes streaming will be very fast and movie playback (even HD) will start immediately. Other times it will take FOREVER to begin movie playback - the progress bar loads but literally moves about 10% per minute.
• Why are some TV shows there right away, and others not at all? For instance, Modern Marvels : "new" shows playing on TV are picked up my DVR, but they don't ever seem to show up on iTunes?
Any thoughts on the above issues are GREATLY appreciated... I've had this awhile and it's really been a lot of headache so far.
Yes, I changed the channel to 6 (as was recommended in another post) and restarted everything. Worked fine (as usual) for a couple days. Went to get a couple new shows and it did the same "Accessing iTunes" message again - I let it spin for a good 2 mins and then retried. Spun for another minute or so with no change. So cancelled out, restarted Apple TV, went back to same show and bought it right away with no issues.
FRUSTRATING. Literally, I must restart 2 times per week, sometimes more. Sometimes less.
Our primary goal was to let Apple TV replace our DirecTV service. We really hate commercials! LOL - but with not much luck on the Apple TV, I think we'll need to wait until Apple spends more time on this thing.

From the Safari menu bar, select

Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.
Uninstall the McAfee product by following the instructions on whichever of the pages linked below is applicable:

I am getting the error message "No AirPort card installed" Restarting my iMac desktop does not solve this (Apple help says I need to reset the SMC this way, but nothing changes). Can somebody advise, please?
Thanks for the flag J.K. - they contaced me and solved my problem. On this account (which I created just to ask this question), I log in with my email rather than my user name (mtalldud). On the account that I was having trouble with, they told me to use my user ID instead of my email to log in and it worked. This is a bit confusing and seems a bit inconsistent but at least I don't need this temporary account any more to get into this community and find answers!

Ever since i plugged my iphone into the computer, all of my music has been messed up. The songs don't have the right album cover i guess they all just got mixed up somehow. i dont know but its annoying and im not sure how to fix it.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My phone when i try to boot it up its keeps going to the apple sign and turns right back off. how do i fix this? If its not on charger it wont start up at all. but if its on charger. it goes to the apple screen and turns off and on repeatedly Any suggestions?

When i turn on my macbook a box appears telling me i need to restart my computer (in different languages) and in order to do so i have to press on the off button for a lil while. Even after doing this the same box appears and it never restarts correctly. This box appears every single time. I rarely turn my computer off. I just place it on sleep mode and restarts it only when i get prompted to. I brought it to genius and they couldnt figure out what the problem is so i was told it needed to be shipped to get fixed. I didnt have anything backed up. All i want saved are the pictures because i went to 2 events where i was the assigned photographer and i didnt get to save it to an external memory. Genius said that when shipped i cant give instructions like make sure to save the pictures and if they are unable to, call me if they should go on with the process. I was wishful thinking that to fix the problem they might not even have to touch the pictures memory part. I brought my MBP back home hoping it will miraculously starts and id be able to back it up but now all it does when i turn it on is the screen remains gray with the apple symbol and the circle timer below. The screen stays this way even if i leave it on for hours. Please help me fix this!!! cant i really specify to the technicians at apple to please make sure not to erase the pictures? Is there no other way to turn on my mac? I only need it to work ones.

Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
Highlight Internal Speakers.
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

I'm sure you guys are getting tired of seeing me post questions, but I have another one. The following code is a simple Card Bet game(High Low). The problem is the score is not accumulating correctly. Sometimes it add when with should subtract, and vice versa. I got tired of trying to figure out my problems with SecretPhrase so I figured I would try another part of my project, only to run into more problems.

}See thats just the thing, I don't think my sort() is working correctly, because if it was thensort() is a library method. Whatever it is documented to do, you can rest assured it is doing it correctly.
playerRand and compRand are ints. You assign to them in the cardGenerator() method with the lines
compRand = generator.nextInt(52);
playerRand = generator.nextInt(52);and there is no reason why they should not be equal.
I don't know if this is the source of the problem or not - basically I don't know what "the score is not accumulating correctly" means.
Since you have random numbers being generated it can be difficult both to reproduce and describe problems. One way to lessen this difficulty would be to make generator an instance variable and initialise it in the constructor. One of the Random constructors lets you provide a seed value. The effect of this that the numbers generated are still "random", but are also completely reproducible. This is a good thing for testing.
Also you could split the huge actionPerformed() method - perhaps having a number of action listeners each with a more moderate sized actionPerformed() method whose intent can be documented and whose implemention can be tested.

Why do you sort the array of strings anyway? And why, having sorted it, do you periodically sort it again (since at that point it is already sorted)? -

The volume On/Off switch does not work. It does not mute sound. I have to turn volume all the way down to silence the sound.
Is the switch faulty or am I missing something here?well first remove the case. check the headphone jack for debris. do a hard reset by holding sleep/wake and home button down together for 10 seconds untill apple appears. backup and restore via itunes. if issue persists the device needs repair

Hi,?Recently purchased a zen v+ and thought i'd gotten a good mp3 player.got home, charged the player. installed software and got excited to start putting songs on and listening to?it. plugged it in the usb slot and BAM!?"USB device not recognized" so i went into control panel/system/hardware/devicemanager then clicked on uni'versal serial bus controllers and noticed a "unknown device". so i right clicked it and went properties and its saying No drivers are installed for this device. so i went to the driver tab and clicked on driver details and a window popped up saying no drivers are required or are loaded for this device.. then i came to the support page and had a look at some posts and came across http://us.creative.com/support/kb/article.asp?l=2&sid=9287?i read and followed the instructions word for word and still didnt help. went to the creative support downloads page and thought maybe i could download and re-install the drivers for my zen v+ but they had no downloads that related to drivers. Before contacting creative i thought i would come on here and find out if anyone can help.is there a site? or can someone give me a site so i can download the latest drivers for my zen v, i've tried installing them off the cd and it says no new devices found. any help would be greatfully appreciated..thanks for your timebrett?
