    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Re-pair your library with iTunes.
    Settings/computers, disconnect your library, then remove the Apple TV from iTunes prefs if necessary.
    Then settings/computers/connect to iTunes.

  • Apple TV not showing up in device list in iTunes

    Apple TV stopped showing up in the devices list in iTunes when I tried to sync my movies, and iTunes froze in mid-sync. Since there is no "eject" button for Apple TV in iTunes, the only thing to do was to close iTunes. When I opened it up again...no more Apple TV under devices. Apple TV works as a stand-alone and I can purchase and view using controls in Apple TV, but I can't sync iTunes with Apple TV, so all my previous purchases are stuck in iTunes until I can sync again. I have tried all the work-arounds suggested by Apple. This is my second Apple TV. The first one did the same thing before the returns deadline kicked in. Hey Apple!! Wake up and fix this!!! If I can't sync with iTunes then I am not putting any money into movie rentals or purchases!! This is costing YOU $$$$$$$$!!

    I had this problem and tried most of the suggested solutions. I could ping the ATV, so I had not network problems. Finally, this is the suggestion that worked for me (Windows 7 user running iTunes 9.1.0.79):
    - power off the ATV
    - open iTunes on the computer;
    - ensure "Share my library on local network is enabled in iTunes (Edit--Preferences--Sharing);
    - power on the ATV;
    - go to "Add Shared iTunes Library" on the ATV (Setting-->Computer menu, second line of the menu) which puts up a new passcode on the screen;
    - DON'T proceed with inputting the passcode number to add the shared iTunes Library, but instead press "menu" button on ATV remote to exit the "Add Library" function and return to the ATV setting menu;
    - this step seems to wake up the ATV<-->iTunes connection and at this point the ATV device reappeared on iTunes!;
    - on the ATV (Setting--Computer menu) I was then able to connect to the nominated iTunes library (top line of the menu) and enter the passcode required by that screen.

  • HELP (Apple TV not showing up in Devices list)

    Has anyone resolved this issues. Like many others, i have things set up perfectly. My itunes stream, but when I go back to sync photos,etc. there is no Apple TV in the "Devices" list (as there is no devices list).
    HEEEEEEELP

    AppleTV does not show up in my Devices list unless there is a code on the screen of the AppleTV. It's not the way I understand it's supposed to work, and apparently not the way everyone's works, but it's a reasonable workaround for me. I think this is a bug in the software that's interacting with something else on my network or a QC problem with some hardware component, because it doesn't happen to every AppleTV.

  • 1 of my 2 Apple TVs not showing up in devices.....after 30 seconds its gone

    I'm going crazy trying to figure out why ATV#1 is not consistently showing up in devices. It will show up briefly when I launch iTunes then after 30 seconds, while trying to sync, will dissappear. I've tried everything to no avail. And I'm sure it's not my network b/c ATV#2 is always listed under devices and immediately syncs after adding new material to iTunes. ATV#1 worked perfect prior to adding ATV#2, then #2 seemed to "take over" priority within iTunes.
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    RECAP: ATV#2 syncs and is always listed in iTunes devices, ATV#1 only shows up when I initially launch iTunes then dissappears within 30 to 60 seconds. ATV#1 prior to ATV#2 being installed, worked flawlessly- just like ATV#2 does currently.
    Each ATV has a different IP address- just checked them.
    Each ATV has been registered and both are listed under iTunes > Pref > Apple TV > and "look for ATVs" is checked with "syncing" next to them
    I just changed locations i.e. took ATV#1 and swapped it with ATV#2 location. BOTH are now listed under devices and ATV#1 is STAYING listed under devices unlike before. I haven't tried to sync #1 yet. That will be the test to see if it syncs and stays syncing until it's finished.
    Any thoughts why changing locations would "fix" the problem?

  • How can I connect my new iPhone to my iTunes account on my computer? It is not showing in the devices when I connect it.

    I bought a new Iphone and I was unable to update with my iTunes because they wouldn't let me leave the store with out checking the camera and speakers. I had to start the phone. I tried connecting to iTunes when I got home but it's not showing in the devices. Please help me.

  • Kindle does not show up as device when plugged in USB

    I was trying to transfer some files to my Kindle using the USB port. I have a Kindle 2, and a Rocketfish Micro USB cord. The Kindle does charge up so it is drawing power through the cord. But the Kindle does not show up as a device attached to my MacBook. My external HD (Firewire) and iPods (USB) all work perfectly through this USB hub.
    I did call Apple (using my 30 day warranty for installing Snow Leopard) and the tech support person did not even know what a Kindle was.
    Amazon says it's an Apple problem.
    Apple doesn't seem to have any clue.
    I've seen from various threads that USB devices do seem to have intermittent problems. Is the Kindle one such device?

    Some devices do not work properly through a hub. Plug the kindle directly into your Mac and see if it works. Just because some devices work through a hub, doesn't mean all devices work through a hub. Apple does not support third party devices or third party hubs.

  • My iPhone is not showing as a device  in the itunes window. I authorized the computer but still not showinh

    I am unable to see my iPhone in the itunes window. I authorized the computer but it still will not show. Under devices it is not listed. Any suggestions?

    You do see the devices heading on the left sidebar? If you don't see the sidebar, go to View>Show sidebar in the iTunes menu and then check to see if the device appears.
    If that isn't the problem, go through the troubleshooting steps. It could be the Apple Mobile Device Service issue.

  • My phone is not showing up in Devices,

    Hello TMC66,
    It sounds like your phone is not recognzied in iTunes anymore. I recommend the troubleshooting steps from the article named:
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538
    Here is an overview of the troubleshooting to be done:
    1. Update iTunes
    2. Check the USB cable
    3. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
    4. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
    5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
    6. Check for third-party software conflicts
    If the issue persists, try uninstalling iTunes and its associated apps with either of these two articles depending on your operating system version:
