Apple TV not syncing TV shows after updating iTunes

Hope someone can help!
I upgraded to the new iTunes version. Everything seemed to work fine - movies and music appeared.  When I tried TV shows, nothing appeared.  I checked my computer and saw that everything had been moved to the iCloud EXCEPT for the latest season of any TV show!  For example, Glee Seasons 1-4 showed up but Season 5 did not.  Nothing synced with Apple TV unless I downloaded it.  Again, movies and photos are fine. Even movies that are not downloaded are showing up in iTunes but TV shows are not.
I restarted Apple TV with no effect. I de-linked and then re-synced my library but this did not change the problem.
I checked the settings and the box "Show only synced items on my Apple TV" is NOT checked but that is exactly what is happening.
Any thoughts?
Thank you,
Elizabeth Sullivan

I solved the issue - I had to go to Apple TV, settings, computer, and connect to my iTunes library.  Even though my Apple TV had previously had been connected to my iTunes library and was visible on the Apple TV, it was now "greyed out".  I had to select my library again and it immediately showed up in iTunes and I had to confirm with the code that appeared on the Apple TV.  It did erase the content on my Apple TV and it will take time to re-sync, but it was immediately able to stream content from my computer.  This set up is pretty much the same way I set it up in the first place.  All is well....

  • For those of you with a Windows computer and the iOS device is not syncing or showing up in iTunes. here is a known solution that has been working for tech support!

I know this seems to be an emerging issue ever since the update to iTunes 11.1.4, some iPhones or other iOS devices are not showing up in iTunes or syncing. I'm not sure if Apple really knowns of this issue, but tech support has a (mostly) sure fire way of resolcing this issue. It's only for Windows computers though.
Go to the article http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1538 and follow the Section 5 Verify Apple Mobile Device USB driver is installed. When you clik on that section, go to your version of Windows (it seems to be happening mostly across Windows 8) . And then to the section: If Apple iPod, Aple iPhone, or Apple iPad is listed.
The gist of what you need to do:
Windows 8 (since it seems to be the most affected) move your cursor to the upper ight corner of your screen) and click on the Magnifying glass. Type in devmgmt.msc and this should bring up the Device Manager. Onc eyou are in the device manager, look for the "Portable device" or "Universial Serial bus Controller" list, and you should see the "Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod" listed. Onc eyou see it, right click it, choose "Update software driver." Now, IT WILL SAY THE DRIVER IS UPDATED. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Select "Browse my computer for driver software." Onc eyou choose that, select "Let me pick from a lsit of drivers on my computer." You should see the option "Have Disk." Choose that. Again, I KNOW you do not have a physical disk, but the file we need is already on your computer. After Hard Disk, choose Browse again. Follow this file path to the file we need: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.. In the Driver's folder, you should see the "usbaaple" or "usbappl64" (if you have the 64 bit for Windows). Double click on that file, and hit OK. The file should install, and once it's finished check your iTunes!!! You may want to unplug your device and plug it back it before doing all of this. I REALLY hope this works for you all as well!

How can I change my file extension from m4p to something else? I have had no success being able to play or burn my purchased music. I keep getting error 2122. If I can change the format I should be able to move it to another player or at least burn it in Nero. Thanks.

  • 80g not syncing TV shows purchased on iTunes (not an HD issue)

I have several TV programs that I purchased, some as long as 4 years ago, and some only a year ago. On my old computer I manually synced because my computer couldn't hold all my iPod content. Then I got a new computer and started auto syncing.
Now all my old TV shows (purchased through iTunes when I used my previous computer, copied to this computer from my iPod) won't sync to my iPod. I have selected the check box and selected all episodes of all shows. I have also tried doing "selected" and then checking the boxes, nothing works.
This is so enfuriating as all of these were legitimately purchased. I can watch them fine in iTunes, but can't get the d*mn things to copy/sync!

OKAY...this was the same thing that happened to me and I figured out the problem...it might be the same for you all...when you plug your iPod into the usb and the iPod Updater screen appears through your iTunes account, go to the "TV Shows" tab at the top. MAKE SURE YOU SELECT "Sync ALL videos." It turns out that the videos that weren't appearing on my iPod were the ones that had been watched at least once. I had the "Sync ALL UNWATCHED" option selected, there for all of the episodes that were viewed on my computer were not synced onto my iPod. HOPE THIS HELPS!

  • IPod Classic not syncing or showing up in iTunes

My iPod Classic 160gb went on the fritz recently. It doesn't show any of the music and won't show up in iTunes when I plug it into my computer. I tried to reset it by hodlding down menu and select until seeing the Apple, but nothing changes. I then tried to go through disk mode, which I'm able to do on the iPod, but it still does not show up in iTunes. It does show up on my desktop though. I'm stumped. Any ideas???

If it shows up in the Finder as an externally mounted drive, try doing a low level reformat of the iPod's hard disk.  This has corrected this same issue for a handful of other users recently.
Use the instructions in this article to walk you through the process.

  • Porblem: 3Gs not recognised AT ALL after updating itunes and trying to update phone

Have updated itunes and tried to update Iphone 3gs.  Now I have connect to itunes display on iphone, and when I connect, I get "new hardware not recognized", "iphone in recovery mode", and device does not come up in itunes.  In device manager "?!" are shown in "other devices" next to "iphone in recover mode".
Any ideas?  I've been trying all day to fix this.
Currrently when I plug in the Iphone, the computer completely ignores it and no reaction, so seems to have got a bit worse!
I'm using PC, Win XP SP2.
I've tried all my USB ports, and various fixes I've found online, but happy to keep trying them if you have any ideas???!?!!?!
At the moment my iphone is dead/blank/part restored, so can't do any solutions that require the functions of the phone.

Thanks wjosten.  I've now been through all this, and there was a lot of old 3d party phone stuff to remove.
However, I have not progressed really.  Any other thoughts on this please?

  • Photos will not sync on wifi after update

    Hi all,
Updated my iPhone 6 to 8.3 the other day and also updated my late 2012 MBP (running Yosemite) to replace iPhoto with the new photos app.
Before these updates, all of my photos would sync to iPhoto when i connected the phone to our wifi and opened iPhoto. Since the update, it just will not work any more. Does anyone ha

    Hey niall.harper,
I see that you are using the new Photos app on your computer running Yosemite and have some questions about syncing photos. It sounds like iPhoto was previously syncing to your Photo Stream in iCloud and that was pulling in your photos when you opened iPhoto from a Wi-Fi connection. You can have the same functionality in the new Photos app, you just may need to turn on My Photo Stream:

  • HT1369 Something has happened to the iPod sync process.   After updating iTunes SW, I can no longer sync my iPod.  iTunes recognizies teh device but the sync is always gray.  Windows controls teh device not iTunes.  I have gone through all of the diagnost

When I run diagnostics, the iPod is not recognized.  This occurs on both of my PCs, Desktop and Laptop.  The device is a 4th Gen iPod.  Always worked in the past until I updaetd iTunes.  Anyone have this issue and solved it?

Disregard this... I found the issue.  I have AirWatch MDM installed.  For some reason, the restrictions blocked me from syncing videos.  I don't know how that happened being that I am the Admin for the AirWatch MDM at my company - I made sure i allowed everything possible being that its configured for BYOD.  I guess something with the update to 8.0.2 screwed with it somehow.  It worked fine after uninstalling the AirWatch Profile and MDM.

  • TS4036 My camera roll will not restore from iCloud after updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 6. It shows I have 1.7 gigs of photos stored on camera roll but none are appearing on my phone. Everything else restored from iCloud.

My camera roll will not restore from iCloud after updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 6. It shows I have 1.7 gigs of photos stored on camera roll but none are appearing on my phone. Everything else restored from iCloud. When I go to iCloud.com my photostream is not there.

A response I put together from another post. Also going into iTunes and choosing to sync phone to iCloud then back "this computer" sometimes works.
First thing.. Stop where you are. Don't try to sync, update, hard reset, iCloud... Just stop.
Check on your phone under 'SETTINGS' 'GENERAL' USAGE'. It should show some value for PHOTOSTREAM. Also, connect to iTunes and you will notice at the bottom of your phones summary page that there is a large amount of 'OTHER' data.
I used third party software called iExplorer (formerly iPhone explorer). In this program you select 'MEDIA FOLDER', then 'DCIM'. In the various apple folders (IE: 101APPLE) you should be able to preview your photos and copy them to your desktop.
From there sync them back to your device through iTunes or whatever method you use.
There is a simpler solution I'm sure, which may involve using iExplorer to delete some .plist files then restart the phone and let it rebuild. I'm going to try it myself AFTER I've finished copying all the photos to my MAC
    Hope this helps.

  • Birthdays not syncing in iPhone after IOS 4.3 update

I have tried numerous approaches to fix this problem without any resolution. I searched the discussion for answers without any success. So, I am posting this plea in hopes that some one will help. I keep my contacts on my iMac in address book. Also on my iMac, iCal subscribes to birthdays. I sync all this info on my iPhone via iTunes. I have never had a problem before ... Until now. After updating iTunes and iOS 4.3 (I always keep my software updated), I noticed my calendar on my iPhone did not display birthdays. I re-synced. I replaced the calendar on the iPhone. I replaced the contacts and calendar on my iPhone. Everything looks like it should show birthdays on my iPhone's calendar (birthdays checked, etc.), but it doesn't. The calendar on my iPad shows birthdays on the calendar after syncing. Someone please help.

I was having the same problem as I seem to sync in the same way as you. I thought I'd already done it, but I basically changed the date of one birthday in my contacts, checked the calendar and they'd all re-appeared. Problem solved! Thanks

  • After updating Itunes to 11.0.4.4 my sync will not work as it says there is insufficient space when nothing else changed?

I recently updated my iTunes to 11.0.4.4.  After doing this, my ipod touch 4Gen will no longer sync as it gives me a statement about the system not having enough memory left to sync ["The iPod...cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 2.73GB required)"].  It has 7.96 GB free on a 32GB iPod.  It synced just fine prior to the update and I did not add more than 7.96 GB of files to the library after updating iTunes.  Please Help!  This is a fustrating situation where I can not sync my music, or anything else for that matter, with this issue.  Thanks in advance for all your help.

    Illaas,
I tried the manual method.  I was able to set the music/video to manual and then restarted the entire system.  After restart, I re-attached the ipod touch to the computer.  The sync automatically ran for everything that wasn't set to manual and it completed without a problem.  I then reset the music/video to automatically sync and restarted the entire coputer/ipod set again.  This time when I re-attached the ipod, EVERYTHING synced and there were no problems reported.  I've never had to do this before, but I will keep it in mind if something like this happens again.  Thank you for pointing me to the manual sync.

Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok.

  • After updating iTunes, iPad won't sync Outlook 2007 calendars - application not found.  Anyone else having this problem or a fix?

    Hope someone can help.
After updating iTunes, Outlook 2007 is not syncing.  Error message reports "no supported calendar application can be found."  Have the same issue when running iTunes in safe mode.  Also rebooted and relaunched iTunes.  No change.  Outlook 2007 is running normally on my desktop (WInXP).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

Apologies I've been away on holiday. OK, I've discovered that it seems to be a related problem to iSync as this won't load. I've tried copying the relevant files from a working OS but this didn't resolve it. I've also tried reinstalling the iSync (Using Pacifist) from the original Install DVD and then installing a combo update but this hasn't fixed it either.
I'm thinking my only resort is probably to reinstall the whole OS, or create a new user and transfer all my docs to that one. Any other suggestions?

  • My Apple TV has stopped syncing TV shows in my iTunes Library

For some time I have been successfully using my Apple TV, to watch TV shows purchased from iTunes on my computer and synched to my Apple TV. Recently my Apple TV lost all of the TV shows which had previously been synched to it. When I now select "My TV Shows", I get the message "There are no TV shows on your Apple TV", and no shows are listed for my Apple TV in iTunes. And although I have many TV shows in my iTunes Library (for example the entire Season 1 of Heroes, with 11 unwatched episodes, and the entire season 1 of "30 Rock" all unwatched) when I try to sync my Apple TV, no TV shows are copied over.
In iTunes, I have tried many times to sync using both the "Automatic Sync" and the "Custom Sync" settings, and various settings listed under "TV Shows" tab, e.g. Sync "all", "all unwatched", etc. for "all TV shows", and "Selected TV shows". In every case when I sync, the status bar says: Syncing "Apple TV", for about 15 seconds, then the synch ends with no episodes are copied.
My version of iTunes is 8.0, Apple TV software version is 2.2.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    * As far as I know I've never changed this field. How was this working before?
Yes this is how it worked before, you may have inadvertently changed this setting (see below-checking/unchecking all) or it might have just happened due to an update or some other glitch for some unknown reason.
    * Do I have to check every file manually after downloading?
    * Can I automatically check them all?
If you hold down the CMD key while you check/uncheck a single item the instruction will apply to all content in that window. So to check all music for example, make sure all your music is in the window when you CMD-click the check box, not just a playlist or album for example.
