Apple TV not working with Sony Bravia KDL-32BX320

Not sure if this is because the Sony model is only labelled 'HD ready'- would I have to get a new TV? Anyway, connected Apple TV via HDMI cable and going into TV setup the Sony TV says there are no devices connected. The TV has two HDMI ports

you could likely connect it to another tv and lowers the default resolution

  • Apple TV 3 not working with Sony Bravia KLV-26T400A

    CURRENT GENERATION APPLE TV (3)
Hi I recently bought an ATV 3 which works fine with a Panasonic TV but is not detected on the HDMI input (or any of the others listed in the Sony menu) by a several year old Sony Bravia KLV-26T400A despite the specs saying it supports 1080 p HDMI input. The HDMI lead is the same that worked successfully with the Panasonic TV.  I have reset the Sony to factory settings, turned the power on and off; cut the power to the ATV 3 and re-booted and tried the fixes I've seen listed on other threads which speak of editing the External Input labels and skipping the ones you don't use (on the Sony) but none of these have helped, can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Simon

That does make things more difficult. Is the monitor HDCP compliant? Seeing as it's an issue with the display and not the device the only thing I could suggest is to get hold of another TV in order to lower the resolution on ATV. If that doesn't work then i'm not really sure what else to try i'm afraid.

  • Bravia Sync does not work with Sony Bravia XBR-55X900B and BDV-N8100W Bluray 3D Home Theatre System.

Bravia Sync does not function with my Sony Bravia XBR-55X900B and Sony BDV-N8100W Bluray 3D Home Theatre System.  The Sony Bravia XBR-55X900B does not list the Sony BDV-N8100W on the Bravia Sync device list.  Does anyone have an explanation or solution for this?

Please use a component cable.  With either RCA or optical for audio.  That is the quickest fix.  For current HDMI issues.
1.7 upgrade has been known to fix most of the HDMI issues.  Verizon is working diligently to roll out img 1.7.

  • Any ideas why my ipod nano 6th gen is not working with Sony SRSGU10IP docking station pls

any ideas why my ipod nano 6th gen is not working with Sony SRSGU10IP docking station please ? classic working fine, so not the fault of the station itself ? it's been bought as a present for my father & he's confused !

Check the headphone jack with a flashlight and clean it if necessary. The jack on a new Nano is very tight, be sure you push the headset jack all the way in, the plastic on the headset jack should be flush with the body of the Nano.

  • Apple tv not working with panosonic TH-50PX75U old.

Apple tv not working with a 3-4 year old Panasonic TH50PX75U tv, works fine on all other tv's in the house. HDMI cables seem to be fine they work with the DVD and DVR. Ratio is set to auto, apple logo on screen when booting up then Goes away. Seen twice for a split, nano second the apple tv menu on screen. Then in upper left corner of tv a grey box appears with HDMI 2 appears. any help would be great... Thanks in advance, Tom

I had a similar issue, without the actual error message. If you can't get it running at all, you will be forced to do what I, and many others have done over the past 24 hours. You can restore your Apple TV to factory settings (you will then have to enter your ID, passwords, etc., to connect everything again--sigh--) by obtianing a Micro-USB cable (found one today at Best Buy for 5 bucks, available other places that sell electronics, etc.) disconnect your Apple TV, and connect it via the micro usb cable (which attaches in the back of the ATV) to your computer, plug the ATV power cord into the wall and open iTUnes. You can click the Apple TV on the left side of iTunes and click restore--it will not take too long on a decent internet connection, and it will automatically install the software update (you have no choice on this, BTW, you can't go back to the previous software, as Apple only supplies the new software online (sadly).  Your ATV 3 should work and you can put it back to your TV and re-enter all your info and enjoy the new features. But if you are like me, you won't enjoy AirPlay, something seems to be wrong with that if you use an iPhone or iPad and have updated to IOS7--not sure which is the problem, or both, but be prepared for a little more frustration, but at least your ATV 3 will "work" mostly as it did before.
I hope this helps, it is frustrating, but it is resolveable with a little bit of time--not that I'm happy about it, either.

  • Apple tv 2 doesn't work with Sony Bravia

    Hi,
I have tried to connect the Apple tv 2 to a Sony Bravia (model:KLV-32BX300), after I make the connection (HDMI), I get initially the apple logo, but after a few seconds I only get the screen to change slightly color, like if wanted to make a connection, but nothing happens. After a while a "Unsupported signal, check you device imput" comes up, after that I get the apple logo again!!! and everything starts all over....
I have tried many HDMI cables, unplug the tv and the apple tv... Before I hade the apple tv 2 connected to tv Sharp, and everything worked perfectly.
    I'm desperate!!!
    Hope somebody can help!
    Thanks

I think the fact that it doesn't work on 2 TV's does tend to suggest the problem is with the Apple TV rather than the TV, but this is by no means certain.
Jailbreaking may or may not be the problem, however it does create another problem for you in that if the problem is a result of jailbreaking we cannot discuss a fix under the Terms of Use for these communities.
Factory restoring to remove any unauthorised modifications may resolve the problem and allow us to discuss the problem should it persist.

  • Apple TV doesn't connect with sony bravia KDL-40NX720 TV

I'd like to connect my apple TV (bought yesterday) to my Sony bravia KDL-40NX720.
I connect the Apple TV with the HDMI cable but it doesn't connect to the Sony.
    What can I try?

Do you have a 2nd or third gen Apple TV?  The problem may be you have 3rd Gen which requires a 1080i supporting TV and I am assuming the 720 at the end of your model number means it is a 720i TV.  That would support 2 Gen apple TV but not 3rd.  Is that possibly the problem?
Check which ATV you have and the tech spec of the TV.  If I am wrong please post again so we can look at other issues.
Hope I am wrong by the way!

  • Apple TV Optical Soundoutput not working with Sony Home Theater System

I just bought a new apple tv. The setup was pretty simple, with the exception that I cannot get the optical audio output to work with my Sony home theater.
If I switch tha optical sound cable from the apple tv to the cable tv converter box I get sound fine in the sound system, so I know the sound system works fine and is setup to take input thru the optical cable.
Any one experiencing the same problem?

    hey buddy,
How old is your Sony receiver? You have to be careful here because receivers that were made about 2 years ago, a lot of the lower range one only does HDMI pass-through. This means that your receiver only passes both the video and audio signal onto the end points, i.e takes the signal from your apple TV and outputs them onto your TV. It does not split the video and audio stream and send the audio to your home theater speakers. So make sure you plug your hdmi and optical out into the same set of input ports. On most Sony receivers, this device is under the Blue Ray class of input, where it takes video from the hdmi and the audio from the optical. If you have them on two separate class, say, HDMI to the DVD in, and optical in to the blue ray, then certainly when you set your receiver to DVD, you get video and audio on your TV speakers. And when you set your receiver to blue ray, you only get audio but not video.

  • Apple TV not working with new 23" cinema display

OK so I finally found a functional use for my new Apple TV, which has been sitting unused in my living room. My MacBook Pro already connects to the HD projector in there, so Mac TV is just less functionality and redundant.
I decided the only use I have for a keyboardless Mac interface for just music, podcasts, photos, and videos is the bathtub.
Being the Mac fanboy that I am, I wanted the solution to be all Apple.
So I headed down to my local Apple Store with the intention of buying a new 23" Cinema Display for my Apple TV and an iPod HiFi for the sound. I was dismayed to see them showing off the Apple TV on Sony LCD TVs. Why wouldn't Apple want to sell people a triple-play package and have it set up as a demo? After all, they weren't selling the Sony TVs anyway.
But my first sign of trouble was the very nice store employee who didn't know if the Apple TV would work on a cinema display. But he definitely wanted to find out when I got home. Searching here, I found posts that seem to confirm that it would work, but the actual source is related to an older ADC cinema display, not the new ones.
I set everything up and used a Toslink-minijack adapter to run the optical digital audio from the Apple TV to the iPod Hifi. I used an HDMI-DVI-D adapter to connect the cinema display to the Apple TV. I powered it all up.
I got the white Apple logo on the screen, then everything went black. I used the Menu and + keys on the remote for 6 seconds to cycle through the resolutions. Still all black. I used the Menu and - keys on the remote to reset to factory settings. Again booted into blackness.
Interestingly, while using the + and - keys on the Apple TV remote, the iPod HiFi volume was lowered and raised simultaneously with the moving of the menu selections in Apple TV (I could hear the clicks). What this means is, 2 remotes, each paired to each device, will be needed for proper operation. This is why having too simple a remote is lame.
At this point I am dead in the bathtub water. I drop more money on Apple than it costs to get a new iMac (which is plan B) just so I can give the Apple TV a shot in my bathroom. But it all doesn't fit seemlessly together on first try.
Any suggestions? Could the HDMI-DVI-D adapter be blocking the HDCP signal needed to display an image? Is DVI-D the wrong adapter to use? Any help is appreciated.

I've not been convinced a monitor will work with the tv, but I have to accept the word of those that have had success. I'm not so certain that a monitor is a suitable first choice, maybe if you have one lying around OK, but to buy one instead of a tv is not only a very expensive alternative but even if it works you will have no way of controlling the brightness etc.
Any suggestions? Could the HDMI-DVI-D adapter be blocking the HDCP signal needed to display an image? Is DVI-D the wrong adapter to use?
Possibly, Did you ever manage to repeat getting the apple logo or indeed anything even if only for a few seconds. DVI-D or DVI-I would be the right connector, don't use a DVI-A

  • IPod touch not working with Sony clock radio.

iPod 4th gen won't play music through new Sony clock radio.  It charges but won't play or control music.  Works with 2 iPhones tested but not touch.  Yes I am using the correct adapters, universal for iPod and the different ones for phones.

Does Sony say it will work with yur model iPod and iOS?
Do the phones have the same iOS?
Is the iPod fully seated in the dock?
Does the iPod sync and charge OK?
    - Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    Sometimes this works
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • IPhone 4 not working with Sony docking station

    Hi guys,
My iPhone 4 is no longer working with my Sony SRS-GU10 docking station. It connects with the docking station and charges, but there is no sound.
I've tried to reset my iPhone, but that didn't work. I've turned off the bluetooth and that didn't help. I blew into the iPhone connector and the docking station and got it working for 10mins. It's just strange how it's just stopped working! Just wondering if it's knackered or can be fixed???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jen

Try the solution in the post at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3228386?start=0&tstart=0, it worked for me.
