Apple TV only login to one account

I can only login to one account on my Apple TV. No problem on my iMac and MacBook Pro. The Apple TV does not accept my password. Any help?

I think they are on the same sharing. On the advanced menu it shows her as the shared person. On the apple tv it shows my library, I can play music, etc., I just can't stream video from this second login on the macbook.

If I login from one account and logout from them, I can not see the user which I made hidden using the above commands, but when I restart my mac I can see that hidden user on login screen, please help, I don't want to see the hidden user even after restart.

    Hi uddipatel,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  Here is how you hide a user account in the login window on your Mac:
How to hide a user account in OS X - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203998
Hide a user account in OS X Yosemite
You can prevent a user account from appearing in the login window in OS X Yosemite by using these steps:.
    1. Log in as an admin user.
    2. Use this Terminal command, substituting the short account name name of the user you wish to hide for “hiddenuser”:
    sudo dscl . create /Users/hiddenuser IsHidden 1
If you later want to show the hidden user, set the user’s IsHidden attribute to 0 like this:
    sudo dscl . create /Users/hiddenuser IsHidden 0
You can optionally delete the IsHidden attribute instead of setting it to 0.
    Additional Options
You can also move the hidden user's home directory to a place not visible from the Finder, and remove the hidden user's Public Folder share point.
The following command moves the home directory of "hiddenuser" to /var, a hidden directory:
    sudo mv /Users/hiddenuser /var/hiddenuser
The following command updates the user record of "hiddenuser" with the new home directory path in /var:
    sudo dscl . -create /Users/hiddenuser NFSHomeDirectory /var/hiddenuser
The following command removes the Public Folder share point for the user with the long name "Hidden User”:
sudo dscl . -delete "/SharePoints/Hidden User's Public Folder"
Hide a user account in earlier versions of OS X
There are three ways you can hide a user in versions of OS X earlier than Yosemite.
Set the Login window to display name and password fields
In the Users & Groups preferences pane (Accounts pane in Mac OS X v10.6 and earlier), click Login Options, then select "Display login window as: Name and password".
With this enabled, no user accounts are listed in the Login window.
If changing the Login Window to only display the name and password fields does not meet your needs, then you can use the following steps in this article to hide a user account.
Add users to the HiddenUsersList (advanced)
With Mac OS X v10.4 and later you can hide users from the Login window by adding them to the HiddenUsersList array in the /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist file. The following command will hide the users "mei" and "anne" from the Login window:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow HiddenUsersList -array-add mei anne
Note: These users will still appear in the Accounts (Mac OS X v10.6 and earlier) or Users & Groups (OS X Lion) pane in System Preferences.
Lower the user's UID and enable the Hide500Users option (advanced)
You can use the advanced steps below to change a user's UID, adjust their home directory permissions and enable the Hide500Users option. An example user account "tom" is used below.
The following sample Terminal command changes the user tom's UID to 401. Note: Check to make sure the new UID is not in use before making this change.
    sudo dscl . -create /Users/tom UniqueID 401
This command adjusts the permissions of the user's home directory:
    sudo chown -R tom /Users/tom/
Enable the Hide500Users option with this command:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow Hide500Users -bool YES

  • Hi, we have two iphones with two accounts.  The apple tv automatically syncs with one account to play music from the iphone to apple tv.  How can I use my iphone to do the same?

Hi, we have two iphones with two accounts.  The apple tv automatically syncs with one account to play music from the iphone to apple tv.  How can I use my iphone to do the same?

Our experience is a little different, we have different iTunes accounts for different family members, each family member has their own iTunes library on their own mac, each mac uses my Apple ID for homesharing and we are able to play purchased content from each library on the Apple TV.

  • How many Apple TVs can login to one Flickr account?

If I have twelve Apple TVs in different conference rooms, can I have all of them login to one Flickr account so they can all show the same photos on their screensavers? I couldn't find this on the Flickr site so I figured I'd try here. Thanks to anyone who can offer up an answer.

In addition to accessing the Flickr site, Apple TV also supports connecting to personal Flickr accounts. I want to connect twelve apple TVs to one personal Flickr account and wanted to find out if anyone knew if there were limitations to doing this. I'm trying to avoid finding out down the road that this results in some sort of problem and creates an issue at the wrong time resulting in a bad user experience.

  • How many Apple devices can connect to one account? If I get 2 iPads for my home can they get apps under the same account or different accounts?

I am wanting to purchase an iPad for myself and kids but I am wondering if they need to be setup under a different Apple account or just one. What about my iPhone that is under that account? So how many devices can be linked to an account before it is maxed out?

I'm not sure what the total limit is (or if there is one), but two iPads and one iPhone is no problem - you only need one account and you can have the same apps on all three devices if you want without any issues (I have an iPad, iPhone and iPod without problems). There was a thread a few weeks ago about a newspaper app (though it could have been a magazine), where the issue could only be downloaded to one device, but that is the only time I've heard about that limit.

  • Apple Mouse only scrolls in one direction after 10.6.8 update

I just updated to 10.6.8 security update, itunes and safari update (I think?) Can't remember now. The update was 10-4-11.
My Apple mouse now only scrolls in one direction. I thought is was dirty and it is not. There are posted issues with this safarie update with mouse related problems, however I am experiencing them in all programs.
Rebooted several times, re-cleaned mouse scroll ball, did the paper trick by cleaning. No success.
I can scroll down but not up. It forces me to grab the scroll bar and manually drag the scrolling window.
Again ALL programs. Was just fine right before the update. Now a problem after

  • Finder crash upon login with one account, better to copy files to new account or use Time Machine backup?

The finder crashes when I login to my old account. Briefly my problems started with iPhoto crashes and eventually to finder crashes. The finder would crash when I would try to transfer picture files from one directory to another.  I'd deleted com.apple.iPhoto.plist as well as com.apple.finder.plist but these did not help.  The crash is characterized by there being no menu items on the top left, but with dock icons which cannot however be clicked, and I can only resort to a hard reset to get back to the login window.  I created a new admin account -- this one works -- but cannot decide whether I should just transfer files from the old account to the new account (as described somewhere in the archived support) or whether I should "go back" in time to when the system was working well (about December 2012 was the last "good" Time Machine backup  -- I did a backup in February, but that was when I was already having problems).  I am afraid that if I transfer certain files (especially the picture files and iphoto files) to the new account, I might cause the same problem on the new account.  Any suggestion as to how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Transfer files off the machine to a external storage drive and disconnect, that way you can do anything you like.
TimeMachine may fail to restore if your drive is corrupted and can't be easily verified if your data is truly on it or will restore.

    Hi Alfi!
For each Mac you wish to log in with follow the directions posted below.
    Log out of Discussions.
Delete the browser's Apple Cookies and clear the browser Cache.
    Quit Safari.
    Reopen Safari.
The following link is for illustration. Do not use this link to perform the procedure. If needed print these instructions to use as a guide.
On the Discussions Sign In Page the texts fields should be blank. Do not enter any info in the text fields.
Instead, under "Did you forget your password?" click on "Click here for assistance". Do not change your password.
On the page that opens, click on "Forget your Apple ID?".
Enter the required info, click Continue and complete the process.
If that doesn't correct the problem, Log-In to Your Info and determine if your Apple Account ID, contains any accent characters, such as an umlaut: ö, a grave: ò, or an acute: ó. (Å,å,Æ,æ,Ø,ø,ß)
If so replace the accented character and use an equivalent letter.
For example if there is a é present replace it with an e.
You can also select the appropriate document {Recover Apple ID name or password}, which is linked to in this KB Article Apple ID Support.

  • Multiple logins on one account...

Is there any way to have multiple login/passwords connect to the same account in the Room Console?
Is the login/password tied to a particular account URL? Or can I setup two accounts to access the same account URL?
    thanks
    -sandy

    hi Nigel,
We have multiple developers working on a project and the Room Console is a great asset in debugging. Right now we are just sharing one login, which isn't ideal, but isn't the end of the world either.
I think the best solution is probably to build out the Local Server so that it has a RoomConsole. (And can be instantiated from AS3 for unit tests.)
What is the workflow that you guys use for development? Do you use the LocalServer or do you use a server? Or do you have some internal tools that you haven't shared yet?

  • Apple Mail : Move emails from one account to another

    Good Day,
I please need help with Apple Mail. A client of mine recently changed her email address from her webhost to online exchange. I setup her new email in Apple Mail and that is all working and nice.
Her Apple mail now shows 2 accounts:
    - the old IMAP
    - the new Exchange
I would like to consolidate all emails from her old IMAP account to her new Exchange account, so that they are all in one place. In Outlook you can just drag and drop emails and folders between the accounts, but my client says that that doesn't work in Apple Mail.
How would I go about moving these emails from one email account within Apple Mail to another?
Sorry for the trivial question, but I am a Windows girl and not as versed in Mac;)
    Thanks for the help!

Try creating a new mailbox in the On My Mac section and drag the e-mails there. Mail/Mailbox/New Mailbox.

  • I don't know anything about Apple ID, only login. What do I need to do?

Please, help me. I was using my friend's account and iCloud as well. But then I created my own account, but I need to turn off "Find my iPhone". I don't know how, because I don't know the password, the questions and the e-mail is blocked because my friend forgot the password too. When he tried to log in the account was blocked, that's why I need your help.

  • IMessage not letting me login with one account, another one okay

    Hi all,
I installed Mavericks yesterday and the user account I created with the fresh install has had issues with iMessage working since.  I created another user account and in that account iMessage works just fine.  I'd switch over and just use that accout but in setting up my programming environment I had a bunch of issues that I didn't when setting it up in my primary account and so I feel like the iMessage issue is less complicated than an issue with figuring out user permissions when installing a bunch of programming packages.  I sure hope so anyway.
I tried a bunch of things like resetting keychain and logging out of iCloud and dumping all associated plist files and none of it works.  Now when I try and log into iMessage the loading icon just spins and spins and spins.  If I put in the wrong password it gives me an error that the username or password are wrong, so there's no issue with connecting to the server.  If I use my wife's appleid it logs in fine and continues with the setup process.  It seems like something is wrong as the OS level with my permissions or my appleid account.  I just tried resetting my appleid password and that didin't do anything.  Attaching an image of the screen I get stuck at.
    Any help is much appreciated!

    Hi,
In the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears in the list.
    Navigate to Preferences.
In here find the file called com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
    Drag it to the Trash.
Then in Applications/Utilities open the Keychain Access
Removes the IDS: apple ID -Auth Tokens that don't apply to the Apple ID you are using.
Then visit the Apple ID web site and Sign in via th Manage option.
This should take you direct to the Apple ID and its associated emails.
Does it say that they are Verified ?
Once the Apple ID is verified then restart the App.
If that is not the answer then link that Apple ID with iCloud.

  • Why does Apple ask me to use "other account"?

When I try to download updates, get message that I "have updates available for other accounts.  To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."  WHAT are they talking about?  I've only ever had one account, though several Apple computers.  Never encountered this before putting iOS 7 on iPad......  Now I can't update anything, and no longer have either App Store, or iTunes on iPad.  Have Lion on 2008 MacBook Pro, and on Mac Mini.  Have tried all the restart/ resets. Totally stuck.

It's not clear if your problem is with the iPad or one or both of your Macs. If it's the Macs, that response will sometimes occur if Spotlight is not indexing your boot disk or the index is corrupted. If it isn't already in there, include your boot drive in the Privacy panel of Spotlight Preferences, close Preferences, open it again, and delete your boot drive from the Privacy list. That forces reindexing. Be aware that that will take some time to complete and may still not solve your problem.
