Apple TV,Problems viewing a purchased movie?

I am somewhat new at this. I have a new Apple TV and have successfully rented and viewed movies using it. Today there was a movie I wanted to watch that could only be purchased. I decided to purchase. Went through the process and received the alert that the movie was ready to be viewed. When I selected it to be viewed, I received an error message that stated that this Apple TV was not authorized to view this content. I am sure I paid the 9.95 through itunes and now I can't view the movie. Did I do something wrong in set-up?

Consider you were subscribing to Sky TV or similar and every so often it said you're not authorised to watch this - the support line said unplug, restart and hope for the best.
I have to unplug my skybox whenever I want to use it in order to be able to switch it on, then occasionally it will disappear in the middle of something and then I need to remove my card, wipe it, put it back in and restart again.
Time to get rid of it then.
I did in August and don't miss it one bit.

    Hi
I am having problems downloading 2 purchased movies. Cars 2 & Toy Story. I had it on My iPad, then after a while the movies would not play. I went to the apple store and they deleted it and told me that all I need to do is download it again. I tried what they suggested at the apple store, but I am still not successful. It continues to tell me there is a download error. Please help! Need these movies for my 3 year old!

  • Problems viewing 1080i/60 .mov files

I am having problems viewing 1080i/60 .mov files. When I open the file, it shows all white. I have exported some HD footage shot on my HVX 200. I am using FCP 5.0.4. I also have created some animated clips from Vue 6 Infinite and it does the same thing.
    I have Quicktime Pro 7.1.5
does anyone have any suggestions on what to do, or what I need to download in order to have this work?
    Thanks

Export from Final Cut using the Apple Intermediate codec to view in QuickTime.
You've probably exported using an HDV codec only used by Final Cut.

  • Unable to view my purchased moves within my Mac

I am unable to view my purchased movies within my macbook pro laptop iTunes.  Yet, I am see them on my desktop's iTunes; what am I doing wrong here?  My iTunes on my laptop shows that I am signed on so there everything should be seamless? Please help!

Here's the two things I can think of to check:
Go to "iTunes" in the Menu bar at the top of the screen > Preferences > Store > Make sure that "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" is checked.
Go to "View" in the Menu bar at the top of the screen > Click "Show Movies in the Cloud" if that's an option (If it's already checked then the only option will be to Hide them).

  • Can't view a purchased movie on my apple tv

Hi, I have a Gen 2 Apple TV on whatever the latest OS version is. I have iTunes 11.0.4.
I own the Back to the Future Blu Ray which came with digital downloads of the films. The films are available for purchase on the iTunes store.
I have watched at least one of the films on my Apple TV however, they now never show available. They are in my iTunes libarary on my computer.
Any suggestions/ideas how to get them on the Purchased section of my Apple TV menu?
    Thank you in advance.

I have the same problem. Hopefully Apple will sort this mess asap and refund for my rented movie.

  • Problem viewing several purchased itunes store videos.

I purchased several videos (episodes of lost)and they show up in the movie download section as gray boxes and I'm unable to play them. in the itunes download folder they show up as a file titled "download" with an info file. the other videos I downloaded and ca view are a single video file so I know something is wrong.
I think the download process was interrupted or not completed successfully. can anyone offer some advise on how i can correct this problem?

I've been trying to figure out if there is a way to view a list of songs I've purchased from the itunes store, not just in the recently added/purchased tab. But a site or something that tells me every single thing I bought in the itunes store.
Yes. In iTunes, click on Store > View My Account... There you can log in, and go to Purchase History.
The Purchase History has a list of everything you have purchased using that account.
If you have used more than one account, you will have to log in separately to each.

  • Apple TV 2nd gen - all purchased movies gone, cannot reload them

I have purchased a few moveis and several TV shows. All of them appear in my iTunes library. I have my Apple TV set up to sync only those movies and TV shows I select, so generally after a week, it disappears from the Apple TV. I typically can go into the Apple TV prefs on my iMac and click on that movie, and then it will sync again.
however, recently this happened, and I went to select the movie, and it would not upload back to the Apple TV (where it was originally purchased). In additon, all ofther purchases are gone, and I cannot get them to sync with the Apple TV.
I have tried power cycle  the apple TV, the router, and unplugging all cables too.
Reently I did deauthorize something (don't remeber what). I (re)authorized the desktop (imac) but that hasn't solved the problem. Is there a separate authorization for the Apple TV? I can't find anything in the setings menu....

I assume you have the Apple TV 1.
Navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can sync it back afterwards, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted.

  • Credit Card Expired Message on Apple TV when trying to purchase movie

I have an error that I need to update my credit card information on my Itunes account, whenever I try to order a movie from my Apple TV?? I did have a card that expired and had to update the info on my account. I did that and have NO PROBLEMS when I buy things from my computer, through Itunes. Does the Apple tv cache my profile somewhere that it doesn't look at my account online?? Any help on this would be appreciated.
I think this may also be why my Apple TV doesn't sync some of my content from my computer. It states that this computer isn't authorized.

I see some other folks are experiencing the AppleTV error message "Your Credit Card Has Expired" problem, but has anybody found a solution?
I too can order anything from the iTune store, even movies from my computer, but I cannot rent or purchase a movie through my AppleTV.
Here's a mystery, from my computer I have successfully rented a movie, downloaded it, transferred it to my AppleTV from my computer, and then played it on my AppleTV.
I have tried different credit cards just to eliminate that possibility, but to no avail. This feels like there is an intermediate server or data base that is not synced properly but then again why are so few folks effected by this anomaly?
My initial contact with the Apple's 'online' trouble shooting started out promising, then dissolved to "beating around the bush", then descended into the "flogging a dead horse" stage with still no solution.
I am about to escalate to the next level of support, but if anybody has a suggestion to solve this problem, please feel free to jump in. Thanks. . .

  • Apple tv won't play purchased movies. Message itunes unavailable

Getting very frustrated. We have a large library of movies and music which we are unable to watch. We have a good wifi connection, latest software versions, have turned every on and off etc etc but keep getting the same message.  "I tunes is currently unavailable.  Try again  later".  We have been trying for days!!
Not impressed. Is any one else suffering from the same un explained problems.?

    Hello Helen.
There is another thread on this topic here: itunes is currently unavailable
This is happening to loads of people including myself. Haven't been able to access content since last week. My ID won't work, but my husband's will. Tried logging out/in, rebooting ATV, rebooting router - everything - to no avail. From what I'm reading, this problem lies with Apple and everyone is waiting anxiously for them to fix it. As it's Thanksgiving week in the US, I don't know how soon they will fix it. All I know is I'm not spending any more money on Itunes until fixed.

  • Apple TV problems viewing photo events

I have recently updated my second generation Apple TV. Since then the events when viewing the photos on the TV are in age order, oldest first. With over 13,000 images spanning a number of years I have a lot of events and so scrolling through all these to get to the ones I've just added is very annoying and time consuming. I have tried altering the order in iPhoto, restarted itunes and also have been all through the Apple TV menu settings. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the order back to the original settings which was most recent first?
Also, not nearly as annoying but when listening to music with the screen saver on occasionally instead of a picture showing a album cover pops up, does anyone know how to stop this?
Both of these only started happening since updating the Apple TV to the latest software.
    Thanks in advance

  • I cannot view newly purchased movies in iTunes.

I get the following error message "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes." Some older movies still play fine. I am running iTunes 10.6.1(7) and Mac OS X 10.7.3. Can anyone help?

I get that and that it cannot play video on any IPad. Nice going Apple; where is the Quality control checks. This has just hosed up a lot of items. When is this going to be resolved????? It is a bit of drag opening in 32 bit mode to be able to use content pulled from Itunes Store.

  • Problems viewing a specific movie in Home Sharing.

A new downloaded HD movie wont show up through home sharing on my iPad but will on my iPhone and Apple TV, is there a reason for this?

I meant to add that all my other movies show up fine, and I have tried signing out and back in to home sharing on my iPad in movie settings.

  • Apple TV viewing previous purchases

I have an ATV 2 and live in United Kingdom. I use apple iCloud and also subscribe to Music Match.
I watched yesterday's apple keynote presentation re ATV 3, due for release next week and during the presentation it was said that users of ATV will be able to view/stream their previously purchased movies from the iCloud using the new firmware v5. In fact the demo showed the ATV user visiting the iTunes store via 'Movies'...'Purchased' menu option and selecting a pre-purchased movie called 'Extremely loud & incredibly close' and was then able to stream the movie direct from the cloud.
So I downloaded the latest firmware for my ATV 2 today and whist the software is identical to the interface displayed during the keynote yesterday, there is no 'purchased' option in the movies app. So my question is this ... Is it a case that viewing pre-purchased movies is just an option for ATV 3 and not ATV 2 (albeit the option has always been available on ATV 1) or is this option not available to United Kingdom users?
Looking at my own research here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3069 .. It appears that the 'purchase' option for movies from the apple store should be allowed here in the UK ...so can anyone confirm whether or not they have the 'purchased' option on movies on their ATV 2 available in the new firmware.
Perhaps this is a feature yet to be enabled?

    Jam£s
In my earlier research I stumbled across this http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3069 in the apple knowledge base and looking at it the purchases option should be available to UK users according to the table albeit some countries do not have the option... So I am still not sure that it is a UK issue.
I was just wondering if there is anyone here from the US who can answer the question, by saying they currently have access to this 'purchased' feature via ATV2 and can access and stream previously purchased movies from the cloud.

  • Purchased movie opens then closes

I have a 16GB wifi-only iPad2 (iOS 6.1.3). I downloaded a purchased movie last night and watched about an hour of it. When I tried to start watching the rest this morning on the subway, the movie will open then close immediately. I've closed all the apps, restarted the iPad, and tested it again once I got to work and connected to the office wifi. No luck. What is going on? It seems similar to an issue I had with Pages, but that turned out to be the fact my docs were on iCloud and I wasn't online at the time.

If I have a problem with a purchased movie, I delete it and download it again. Most movies can be down, paced again for free if you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with.
You can read about it here and see how you can be sure that the movies qualifies for a free download.
