Apple TV remote affecting other devices

Hi,
I've got an Apple TV 2 and a MBP in the same room. I've managed to pair the Apple TV's remote with the AppleTV (by holding menu and right for 5 seconds) so that the MBP's white remote now does not work with the AppleTV.
I just cannot get the AppleTV's remote to stop working with the MBP though. I've tried pairing the MBP's remote with the MBP and after doing so the Security & Privacy system preferences panel now states "This computer will only work with the paired remote", but both remotes still affect it. This makes home sharing useless as I cannot control my music being shared by my MBP while it's on without causing iTunes to start acting up on my MBP.
I've even tried selecting "Disable remote control infrared receiver" and this doesn't do anything either. All remotes still work!

NOTE - Ensure you only follow the instructions for your SPECIFIC Mac model family and not not try things designed for older Macs on newer ones. If in doubt don't do it.

Thanks for your fast reply. My daughter has a new phone, bought it yesterday and logged into ITune on PC to sync songs and then wanted to download when noticed that devise asked for my ID so she hasn't downloaded anything yet! How would this change things?

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

Apple TV now requires other device upgrades?

So Apple is forcing its Apple TV users to upgrade their phones or their Macs in order to see Photostream on their TV? I have a six-year-old Mac running fine on Lion. I don't need ML. I need to keep Google Maps on my phone because of Street View. Hence, no upgrades. Photostream continues to work fine on both those machines. Irony.
I cannot believe a smart person approved this. Apple is showing the signs of having gotten too big for its breeches.
Am I missing something?

Apple has always done this, "push you to upgrade" this how they can uniform the experience. Since many of the Protocols used by Apple are either approved standard REF or they are propriatery. Updating 1 device and not the other lead's to multiple forums post saying thing doesn't work. When a simple update will fix it.
If this is all about a Maps debate "again", The new Maps app are better and the data is improving for some locations for mine Canada and US it's Excellent coverage. And if you want Street view Google has it in their mobile app now which based of HTML 5 works exactly the same or better than it did before.

Hi all, first post and a problem, like most I guess !!
Bought my first W8 Laptop Tosh Satellite C50D-A-13G
The wifi is driving me mad
When it does connect to my BT wifi,, all other devises in the house loss their wifi connection,,
Seams this new laptop , "hog's" the connection,
Only way to get out of it, is to pull the power from the BT box,, and wait 5 mins !!
I am guessing its a window 8 setting somewhere,, but regret I am somewhat of a IT dummy !!
Any help would be appreciated please,,

To be honest you are the first who reported something like that in this forum community.
From my point of few there must be a configuration problem with your WLan router.
I would recommend you to reset the settings and to reconfigure the router again.
Check also the router user manual and maybe support website of router manufacturer page for possible issues and workarounds.
Fact is that if DHCP is enabled in your router settings, the notebook and all other devices will get the IP address automatically from an IP address pool. This should not affect other devices since each device would get an separate IP address.
I would also recommend you to check in router settings the different WLan standards like 802.11 A, B, G or N and different frequency modes 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and channels.

Delete your iCloud account and set up a new one with a different Apple ID than the other devices. Unless you want to share data between different devices, each one should have its own iCloud account, with different Apple ID.

Sure.
For the iTunes/App store...Settings>iTunes/App Store...tap the ID shown, sign out...now, sign back in with the ID you want to use. Be aware, any apps obtained with the old ID can only be updated using that ID, as all apps are forever tied to the ID used to obtain them.
Fir iCloud: Settings>iCloud...turn everything off, including Find My Phone. For Contacts/Calendars, you'll be prompted to keep the data on the phone or delete it...your choice. Then, scroll down, Delete Account. Now, set everything back up using the new ID.
This won't affect any data stored at iCloud.com, or any other devices.

Very simple. Turn off Find my iDevice, then Tap Settings, General, Erase, Erase all content and settings.

Content is tied to the account that originally bought/downloaded it - so if you created a new account as opposed to updating the old one, then you will need to continue to use the old account to download updates to its apps or to re-download its past purchases. If you didn't create a new account but instead updated your old one then try logging out of your account on the phone by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and then log back in

Have you tried unpairing the remote? You do this by pointing your remote at the Apple TV and holding the MENU and Left buttons down together for 6 seconds.
