Apple tv removes sections of service

I love my Apple Tv but I'm having a lot of issues with it. Biggest issue is that it randomly takes away different sections out of the 5 (or 4, can't remember right now) that are standard and it will only show 3 of them. Recently we just tried renting a video from iTunes on the Apple Tv and went back to watching cable while it loaded to only come back to find the iTunes section missing. Also having an issue with it not recognizing the internet connection that's established in the house which prevents home sharing. ARGH! Help!

The last sentence is key.
You seem to be losing network connection for some reason - internet at least and probably LAN preventing home sharing.
The Movies/TV Shows categories (and ? internet) will not show if yoiu have no valid internet connection as without it you cannot rent/browse itunes store.

I also set up my apple ID with a new email account and also I signed up for iCloud but used the same apple I'd email and password but it gave me a I cloud email! I did activate the favorites in my email . Noticed the from field has my fathers name and contact and it is a notification about me using my apple ID to sign in to FaceTime! Something is messed up, not sure how or why???

i didn't read a lot of your 2nd paragraph, but it seems like the password is the issue, right?
do a true clean install
reboot your machine and hold down command+option+r, you should see a spinning globe - if you don't see the globe or anything that reads internet recovery, shut down and try again
at menu, chose disk utility and once there, find your HD on the left side, select the physical name and erase it as mac journaled
exit disk utlity
at menu, choose install OSX
this time, when it asks for a password just hit continue, it will let you complete without a password
you should be able to get into your laptop, now figure out what password you'll be able to use with your kb issue

You can still deauthorize an individual computer from the iTunes Menus.
You can de-authorize only once a year 'all' computers from your iTunes account page.

Is Apple Working on A Leopard "Service Pack" type update?

I am sorry if this is a redundant post. Is anyone aware of whether or not Apple is working on a "Service Pack" type update for Leopard?

Sorry, but no one here knows or can say (anyone who would know would be under nondisclosure). But experience shows that Apple is always working on improving their OS releases; that's why 10.4 is up to release 10, constant work in improvements. So I think we can be sure that Apple is working on fixes and improvements to 10.5 as well. When any update will appear is unknown, but as an example, the first update to 10.4 came out about three weeks after 10.4 first shipped.

Why does apple not remove the malware Genieo

Why does apple not remove the malware Genieo - it takes over the Safari browser even with extensions turned off - firefox works fine but the malware is still alive and kicking on my mac. Should I just uninstall safari and hope the malware is not doing more damage in the background?

Apple has never had anything to do with Genio. It is sneakily installed with other apps you think would be helpful. It is very sickening, IMHO.

Mysterious connections to Apple from "locationd" iPhone related service?

I use Little Snitch to monitor network activity on my computer. I've noticed that a service named "locationd" occasionally tries to connect to "iphone-wu.apple.com" at seemingly random times. Interestingly, these connections only seem to happen when my iPhone is not connected to my computer.
I'm running Snow Leopard on a 13" MBP. I have iTunes 9.0.2(25). I have an iPhone 3G and I have a MobleMe account that I pretty much only use for syncing my contact information (I don't use it for email).
I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this behavior and knows what it might be.

Further, the EULA tells you how to disable this. No one is spying on anyone. If you want things like location services to work fast & accurate data like this is a necessary part of the equation.

Possible Bug: Migrating 6.1 to 7.0 - Uninstall of 6.1 removes 7.0 services

This is a report of a possible bug. We are migrating from 6.1 to 7.0u2. On our Admin Node, we finished migrating multiple instances from 6.1 to 7.0 so we went uninstalled the 6.1 server components. This uninstall process removed the 7.0u2 services though not the instances from the Admin Node. The configuration folders in the 7.0 folder were not removed so we were able to delete then redeploy the instance. Note that the service name in 6.1 was the same as the service name in 7.0 (e.g. https-xyz). However, we had already used the 6.1 Administration Server to remove each individual 6.1 server prior to migrating the configuration to 7.0.

If I am not mistaken, you probably didn't completely go through the migration log to make sure that what is migrated and what is not. please note that as part of migration all static content files and some other data files are not migrated. you are required to look into the migration log and make sure that you manually move those files into 7.0 location once the automated migration completes successfully. so, if you removed the 6.0 without migrating those static files , then you might see a whole bunch of 404 and other weird errors. Static content files have nothing to do with what I'm talking about. I had a 6.1 installation with a number of "servers" (what 7.0 calls instances). In order to migrate and keep the same service name (e.g. https-xyz), I had to first make a copy of the https-xyz configuration directory, use the 6.1 admin to remove the https-xyz (this would remove the https-xyz service), recopy the https-xyz configuration directory to the 6.1 install directory, then proceed with the automated migration.

I use Mavericks OS 10.9.2. I've followed the instructions on how to completely remove "CleanApp" from my Mac. I'm stuck on Step 12. which says: "If you have installed the System Preferences pane as well, you also have to delete it from the Mac OS X system preferences. Just do a RIGHT CLICK on the menu item and select Remove "CleanApp Logging Services" Preference Pane." I've clicked on the "CleanApp Logging Service" Icon at the bottom of the System Preferences window. (Please see Picture 1 and Picture 2).

You might want to try Control & click (that is the Control key) to open a contextual menu; hopefully, the command referenced will be available.

Is it typical, that Apple Care removes your "ScratchStopper" from the Display according to Diagnosis? (Even if they apply no maintenance?)

What did they say was the internal damage? You need to have them explain the damage, and how they consider it caused by you. This is totally unacceptable if you have Applecare that they would be doing this. You sound too nice and just accepting what they are telling you. You need to call Applecare and fight with them.

Bug / Oversight ?
As shown in "http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&topic=14252" ( and as used in my old iPhones running 3.x.x ) under "Settings=>Mail,Contacts,Calendars=>Gmail" you could select to sync "Mail, Contacts, Calendars". I have used this feature for the past year or so and it's been great.
Now, under iOS 4.0.x you can only choose to sync Mail, Calendars, Notes. The choice to sync "Contacts" has been removed by Apple.
Here is where it gets interesting: My wife ran a backup and restore to move from her iPhone3GS to iPhone4. Whereas I did a complete fresh install.
Her phone continues to sync contacts, mine does not.
When I drill into "Settings=>Mail,Contacts,Calendars=>Gmail" on her iPhone4 there are two now two accounts with identical names and all other details the same. One which syncs Mail and Notes
The second syncs Contacts and Calendars
For some reason they can exist concurrently. This is not the case on my iPhone4 ( fresh install ) which only allows one account and will not give the option of push syncing contacts
To be honest I've found it incredibly irritating that this feature has been removed in 4.0.x ! Syncing google contacts instantly, transparently and automatically over WiFi/3G has been incredibly useful and I'm pretty gutted that it has suddenly just been taken away !

Is this when creating and accessing the account as an Exchange account, or when creating the account using the Gmail account preset which creates the account as an IMAP account?
