Apple TV Rent movies with languaje option

Rented movies should bring languaje option. or subtitles.

If the Apple TV software upgrade supports this, it would just be a matter of whether or not the movie is encoded with a secondary language channel or subtitles. English language movies released in the U.S. don't usually have a secondary language channel, however. There are a few movies showing in the iTunes store with the CC (closed caption) icon.

  • Closed Captioning in Apple TV Rented Movies?

Is it possible to select closed captioning in Apple TV Rented Movies? I rented a movie and did not see the closed caption option. Is it possible that only certain movies have the closed captioning option, or none.
I would appreciate any information regarding this subject.

You can turn on closed captioning in the AppleTV settings. Go to Settings > Video.
It is possible that not all rented movies will have closed captions. It is up to the movie studio to provide CC with the movies files they give to Apple for hosting.

  • Apple TV - rented movie, stopped midway, now can't watch 2nd half.

Apple TV - rented movie, stopped midway, now can't watch 2nd half.
No option to "return to rented movie" - screen only says "go to Settings, find Downloads, then Download" or something similar.
***? I went to Settings and there is NO Downloads option. Anywhere!
I think Apple is losing it. FIrst my iPhone 4S, which I was tricked into loading the new operating system which is HORRIBLE. Am now looking at moving back to Android. And now Apple TV seems screwed up. Jesus, is this the end?

If you rent it on your Apple TV then that is the only place that you can watch it - from the HT1657 page that you posted from :
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
Why it's like that I don't know, I don't think that Apple have said.

  • How can I enable the chinese subtilte in the rented movie with Chinese subtitle.

How can I enable the chinese subtitle in the rented movie with Chinese subtitle. Like "50 First Dates" in Hongkong Store.

You can do it with a trackpad but I am not sure about the mouse.  Take a look at his link, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4288

  • How can I change the CC size of Apple Store rented movies on the 3rd generation Apple TV (iOS 6.0)?

How can I change the CC size of Apple Store rented movies on the 3rd generation Apple TV (iOS 6.0)?

So, mich, according from what I've figured out that's not possible on Apple TV. What I actually think is lack of features. Any free software avaliable on Internet has suck a basic feature like that...
I've contacted Apple about it too, but I think they don't care about me!

  • HT202157 anyone having trouble with renting movies with Apple TV?

Not sure what to do,  can't seem to rent on Apple TV tonight.  Netflix is working and Itunes on my MAC is working.  I can always plug Mac to sound system but....  Anyone out there ith same trouble today.
    BTW:
    I restarted AppleTV
    I plug/unplugged (the godd old alt/del)

I appreciate you trying to help. However, I have NO idea how to check for a '3rd party DNS'. As I said, it worked flawlessly on Monday. Wouldn't that mean I was corrected properly?
I went to Apple TV support and in answer to rentaing movies it referred me with a link to this:
How long do I have to watch a rented movie?
You have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and 24 hours (in the US) or 48 hours (elsewhere) after you've started viewing to finish it. Once the rental period expires, the movie will disappear from your iTunes library.
This is a link FROM the Apple TV page. So I should have 30 days to watch the movie. Under Settings is a "Search for rented movies" option. Isn't that where you would find your rentals that you have not watched yet?
It's not that I don't WANT to troubleshoot. I just do not have a CLUE how to provide what you are asking for.
    Thanks.

  • Problem renting movies with Apple TV

Having a problem renting movies using Apple TV with Comcast cable and Netgear gigabit wireless router.  After selecting a movie to rent and clicking "rent" a message appears: "Accessing iTunes Store", after some delay a second message appears stating an inability to connect to iTunes store, try again later. This issue is intermittent. At any given time a movie can be rented and streamed, but more than 50% of the time, the rental fails.

We're not really sure as yet - there certainly seem to be no comments on subtitling as a feature.

  • I can not watch a rented movie with iTunes

I found the movie in the store (The Emperor (1080p HD)) and rented it thhrough my mini's (a 2.3 Ghz i5 w/ 16Gb Ram running Mac OS 10.8.4) iTunes app (version 11.0.5). I waited for the movie to download completely. I selected the "Rented" tab from my "Movies" Library and clicked on the movie icon (it had a strange appearance which was a generic light grey box with a fim frame in the middle). iTunes responded with: "This movie requires Quicktime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes.). I admit I was dumbfounded for a moment since I associate Quicktime with Apple media more closely than iTunes. I went to the file via Finder, and looked at the extension: m4v and tried to open it with Quicktime. Quicktime responded: "This application cannot be used to play "Emperor (1080p HD).m4v" In order to play this content, please open it with iTunes."
OK, I mumbled, I've seen nonsense like this before and it could be permissions based. My iTunes Library is on an external network drive because of its size. I'll copy the file to the local volume and see what happens. A few minutes later, the copy was complete. I added the file to my Library in iTunes, and this time the movie's icon image was correct. I launched to film. It opened and audio can be heard, but the video is absent. In its place is a field of alternating grey and white squares. I can watch any other video file at 1080p. The mini is connected via HDMI to a Yamaha AV receiver which outputs video to an Epson 5010 projector. Screenshots of the iTunes window appear the same when opened in Preview. I've changed the screen resolution from 1080p to 720 and 1080i and get the same result.
This evening's experiment is over since the rental ends in 24 hours now that I've -listened- to the audio.
Can anyone tell me why I had this experience and (outside of not renting another movie from iTunes) how I might successfully view an movie in the future?
    Thanks

    Hi Mikey1220,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you have not been able to play the rented movie, I'd recommend starting with the troubleshooting steps in this article:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General> Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings >General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check theuser guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
Next, try to download the movie again using the steps in this article:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
If your rental expired before you could view the movie, or if the behavior persists, you may want to report an issue with your purchase:

  • HT1657 Can you only watch a rented movie with Internet ?

I want to know if u can watch rented  movies without the Internet because I want to rent while traveling.

As long as the film has been fully downloaded then you should be able to watch it without being online.

  • Apple Tv rented movie shutdown during play, not highlighted as hired / able to replay, fraud!

    Rented Epic tonight
Started watching and it shut down during play, for no reason
Cannot Replay cause it doesn't appear as rented.
Connection is allright (duh, hense this post)
    Apple Support unavailable.
Thank you for ruining my evening and stealing my hardearned cash.
This goes out the window, along with my thoughts about it.

Ok nw the rented film is on the iPad which won't play and when I looked at the Mac I was greeted with an error message saying that the film could nt be transferred because the file had already been transferred somewhere else!  Thing is I can see it on theioad and the Mac still!
Obviously the film Kees checking where it as you can't watch it in two places at the same time. I can understand that but I knw it's not anywhere else.
The only thing I can think of is if when time machine backs it up it thinks it's being watched!
    Any ideas anyone?

  • Renting movie with Itunes with my iphone 4

I tried to rent a movie throught iTunes on my iPhone 4 and nothing really happend. How do I know if it worked because I don't want to get charge for it if it didn't. I did enter my apple id password and everything but when I go to the download section in iTunes nothing is there? I need help please!

Hi I have the same problem I cannot work out how I watch the movie???

  • Apple TV rented movie takes forever to authorize

Since purchasing our family's new Apple TV and connecting it to the home network (Mac based, wired broadband, 6mb down), we have rented two movies. The first movie rented fine, authorized fine, downloaded as we watched, and eventually completed... but we had to stop watching for about 30 minutes to allow the ending to eventually download. Not a great first impression, but acceptable.
Today's rental on the other hand has had some hiccups. I gathered up the family and upon trying to start the movie, we instantly noticed that the ATV couldn't authorize the movie (the step after clicking 'play'). There were no errors, just a never ending "Authorizing" on the screen. I tried everything I could think of to get it to Authorize and after 20 minutes my wife finally recommended unplugging the unit and replugging. I tried that and played the movie again. This time the movie authorized instantly and after getting the family all together again (like herding cats), we watched.
Is there a better solution to the lack of authorization... better than unplugging the unit? It was almost like it needed that kick to the shins to get started, but it seemed extreme to me.

Thank you for the response. As for the other things I tried, my knowledge of the unit being limited to my few days of ownership, were to try downloading other items such as previews or trailers. I also tried starting and restarting our iTunes. I also put the unit to standby. All in all, very basic troubleshooting to make sure I had a live connection and not a dud at that moment in time.
I just didn't know if there was something different or more "tried and true" for something such as this.

This is a user forum, you are not addressing Apple. If you have verified that your billing info is correct then you will need to contact iTunes.
