Apple TV rental movie download stops at 2%

It won't go any further. No movie. No fun. Have waited over 3 hours.
Any ideas what's going wrong?
Music, trailers, movies I purchase, all come through fine.

Alas, I have tried restaring numerous times, and I have more than enough memory. It's odd, when I buy movies, they come in just fine. But renting always gets stuck.

Unless it has recently changed you can only watch rentals on the device or mac you rent them on.

  • HT1657 Why doesn't my rental movie download completely? iPad

I am trying to download a rental movie so I can watch later, hopefully during my flight. Movie almost completes downloading then stops and starts over.

Films that you rent and download directly on the iPad cannot then be transferred to a different device - if you want to be able to copy rentals to other devices then you need to rent and download it via your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1415

  • Rental Movie Download Speed Changed from 25 minutes to 10 hours

Two days ago I download two rental movies and each took about 25 minutes. Today I tried to download another rental movie and it is taking forever. If it continues at this speed, it will take about 10 days to download. My ISP is fine, I have checked my download speed and its 6.6MBps and I have not installed anything new on my PC. Please help.

I've had a few like that myself.
    1. Right click on the download and chose 'Delete'. This is not ideal.
    2. Get Apple tech support on live chat and have them 'nuke' it.
That should also get you back your money.

  • Apple TV, HD movie downloads extremely slow.

It is taking upwards of 30 minutes to get an HD movie downloaded to my Apple TV before I can start t he movie. I am using AT&T U-verse Gateway with 16 megabit capability. I am averaging about 10megabit download speed on iMac and other MacBooks in the house.
Several factors that just don't add up:
I have five bars on the Apple TV wireless signal strength.
I have no delays or interruptions when streaming Internet Radio from Apple TV.
I have no delays or interruptions when streaming movies trailers from Apple TV.
I have no delays or interruptions when streaming YouTube from Apple TV.
I have very few delays or interruptions when streaming music from the iMac to Apple TV.
I have no delays or interruptions when streaming movies from Netflix on the Nintendo Wii.
    I have recycled the AT&T U-verse wireless(802.11g) modem/router.
I have changed the wireless channel on the router to 9.
I have recycled the Apple TV numerous times.
I'm not sure how everything else downloads or streams without issue on the same wireless network, and sometimes same Apple TV, with the exception of iTunes HD movie rentals.

I have the same experience with my ATV1. The obvious factor is the server that is delivering the HD media to the device.

  • HT1657 My rental movie downloaded in 43 minutes. Where do I go to play it. When click on rent so that I can play it a pop up message says are you sure you want to rent it again? What wow question. iTunes can not figure that this movie has not even been pl

I rented a movie in itunes n it took 43 minutes to download. So where do I click to play my rental movie? When I click on rent a pop up says that this movie has been already rented. So where is my rental movie n where do I go to click on play?

If you select the Movies part of your iTunes library, is there a rental tab shown on it ?

  • TS1424 ipad: Rental movie downloaded 98%.. "unable to download movie" error

    Good Afternoon,
I purchased a rental movie to watch on a plane ride today.  Unfortunately the movie hadn't finished downloading before I left the house.  I've tried 3 or 4 different internet connections (including verified very fast connections at the hotel and starbucks) and I get the "unable to download movie" error.
I can't find a way to delete the rental to try and start the download over, nor does syncing help.  Please assist!
    thank you,

  • HT1657 Iphone iTunes rental movie download stuck on 45.5mb

Why is it that you just want to download a film and it won't do it. It is easier going to the DVD rental...

Wifi. It has actually downloaded now, but that was hours and hours later, and I was frustrated I couldn't watch it at that time... It is sooooo frustrating (maybe I'm just impatient!).
There doesn't appear to be a refresh/ stop function- *big oversight Apple*. I tried quitting iTunes, turning the phone off and on etc and nothing helped.
It's rather like sending an iMessage that gets stuck and takes about 20mins, whereas a simple SMS text is gone in a second- maybe they like frustrated customers?

  • Rental movie "Operation stopped" , Says "not enough storage" when I do have enough

When I tried to access a movie rental, "operation stopped" popped up and then "There is not enough available storage to download". I realised that I hadn't finished downloading but that I had plenty of space, more than enough for the full movie according to Settings: General: Usage. How do I fix this problem?

Had the exact same thing happen. Did you ever get it solved?

  • ITunes movie download stopped; incorrect error - insufficient capacity

I rented a movie. Prior to rental I cleared some apps to ensure I had enough capacity to store the movie.
The movie got cutoff about halfway through the download as I was travelling and had to leave the wifi area.
Upon attempting to restart, two things occurred:
    - the download started at the beginning not where it left off
    - I received an out of capacity (or other such message) indicating not enough space.
I went to videos and had to delete the half downloaded movie.
I returned to my downloads and attempted to start again only to receive the same error.
    Help!

Try logging out of your iTunes account, then logging back in.
Try connecting the iPad to the synced PC as well to try to resume or restart the download
    Also try resetting the iPad:
Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

  • How to restart rental movie download on 5S?

I Rented 4 movies last night. Two downloaded fine, but I ran out of space. I made room for them, but can't figure out how to get the downloads started again.
There is nothing but a play button in the movies in the rental section in the movie app, and they are no lower in my current downloads in the Store. The movies do appear in my movie rentals, as a grey box.

Well I don't know here, could be many different issues. Maybe contact
