Apple TV shows my library twice but won't connect

Since updating my iMac (early 2008) to Yosemite and iTunes 12, my apple tv 2 now shows two of the same library under computers but says it is unable to connect when I click on either one.
I can connect to my macbook (late 2012 pro retina) library (also running Yosemite and iTunes 12), but not to my iMac library.
I have tried restarting home sharing as well as the iMac and the apple tv.
The apple tv is connected through ethernet.

Have you tried powering off and then back on your router?
Did the iPod successfully connect to this network before?
Does your iPod successfully connect to other networks?

I have an airport extreme, and it stopped working one day, so I reseted it and it's not connecting to the internet now. It's showing a green light, however, it won't connect to the internet. I live in an apartment complex, so I don't have a cable modem. The router is directly connected to the wall via ethernet. I had the ports checked by connecting the ethernet cord directly to the computer, and the internet is working fine. I tried resetting the router, but it still doesn't connect.

Your problem is typical Yosemite network.. just reboot the Time Capsule.. no luck reboot the network.. do a restart in correct order.. modem.. wait 2min.. TC .. wait 2min.. clients.
No luck then do a full reset of the TC and setup in a way that Yosemite can cope with.
Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the hard disk doing this.
Factory reset universal
Power off the TC.. ie pull the power cord or power off at the wall.. wait 10sec.. hold in the reset button.. be gentle.. power on again still holding in reset.. and keep holding it in for another 10sec. You may need some help as it is hard to both hold in reset and apply power. It will show success by rapidly blinking the front led. Release the reset.. and wait a couple of min for the TC to reset and come back with factory settings. If the front LED doesn’t blink rapidly you missed it and simply try again. The reset is fairly fragile in these.. press it so you feel it just click and no more.. I have seen people bend the lever or even break it. I use a toothpick as tool.
N.B. None of your files on the hard disk of the TC are deleted.. this simply clears out the router settings of the TC.
Setup the TC again.
Then redo the setup from the computer with Yosemite.
1. Use very short names.. NOT APPLE RECOMMENDED names. No spaces and pure alphanumerics.
eg TCgen5 for basestation and TCwifi wireless name.
If the issue is wireless use TC24ghz and TC5ghz with fixed channels as this also seems to help stop the nonsense. But this can be tried in the second round. ie plan on a first and second round of changes to fix this.. hopefully.. I will point out other steps that can be round2.
2. Use all passwords that also comply with 1. but can be a bit longer. ie 8-20 characters mixed case and numbers.. no non-alphanumerics.
3. If the TC is main router you can skip this point. This is only an issue when the TC is bridged.
Ensure the TC always takes the same IP address.. you will need to do this on the main router using dhcp reservation.. or a bit more complex setup using static IP in the TC. But this is important.. having IP drift all over the place when Yosemite cannot remember its own name for 5 min after a reboot makes for poor networking.
4. Check your share name on the computer is not changing.. make sure it also complies with the above.. short no spaces and pure alphanumeric.. but this change will mess up your TM backup.. so be prepared to do a new full backup. Sorry.. keep this one for second round if you want to avoid a new backup.
5. Mount the TC disk in the computer manually.
In Finder, Go, Connect to server from the top menu,
Type in SMB://192.168.0.254 (or whatever the TC ip is which you have now made static. As a router by default it is 10.0.1.1 and I encourage people to stick with that unless you know what you are doing).
You can use name.. SMB://TCgen5.local where you replace TCgen5 with your TC name.. local is the default domain of the TC and doesn't change.
However names are not so easy as IP address.. nor as reliable. At least not in Yosemite they aren't. The domain can also be an issue if you are not plugged or wireless directly to the TC.
6. Make sure IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open the network preferences, wireless and advanced / TCP/IP.. and fix the IPv6. to link-local only. Do the same for ethernet if you use it.
There is a lot more jiggery pokery you can try but the above is a good start.. if you find it still unreliable.. don't be surprised.
You might need to do some more work on the computer itself. eg Reset the PRAM.. has helped some people. Clean install of the OS is also helpful if you upgrade installed.

Start from the bottom and work up.. I have a list of good network practice changes but I have avoided Yosemites bug heaven.
Yosemite has serious DNS bug in the networking application.. here is the lets say more arcane method of fixing it by doing a network transplant from mavericks.

Same thing applies to the Airport Extreme or the Express if used as router.. just replace TC in the instructions with AE.

Apple TV is activated on PBS but won't connect to programming.

My Apple TV is less than 6 months old. It was connecting to PBS programming until two days ago when the PBS user interface changed its look and feel. The menu that worked lead with the item "Featured". Now the lead item is "Video". I can navigate to the program menu, however, when I select the program episode, I get the spinning wheel of death follow by a message that says to try again in a few moments. I have restored it and reactivated it with PBS but the problem persists. Below is a copy of my last mail to PBS. Has anyone else experienced this problem and was there a solution? Any help would be appreciated.

I appreciate your response. I checked for any new Apple TV software releases and I was up to date. I then decided to "restore" my Apple TV (which is less than 6 months old). When the "restore" process was complete, I re-activated the Apple TV with the new activation code at PBS.Org. Everything seemed to go well. I got the PBS menu and navigated to an episode of "A Chef's Life". After clicking the menu item, the "spinning wheel icon" came up and after a few seconds I got the same error message; "… try again in a few moments."
I cannot be the only Apple TV customer with this problem. I can watch News Hour and other programs on my Macbook pro but it is not the same. Again, all the other programming (e.g., Fox) is working fine and this only started a couple of days ago when the PBS menu (user interface) changed. I will contact Apple but since all other things on their side are working, troubleshooting seems to point the PBS navigation element (e.g., href="http://www….).

Are you talking about two different devices? If the music is on the phone and youcan access it from the Music app, then you can listen to it. If the music is not on the phone but on the iPod and you want it on the phone, then you would have to sync the phone to the same library the iPod is synced to.

I would try a hard reset on the iPad.
To do so, hold both the home button and sleep button down at the same time.
Keep holding them until the device restarts and you see the Apple logo.
Once you see the Apple logo, you can go ahead and release the buttons.
Once the iPad is booted back up, try to print to your 7510 again.

If neither works, then you may need to bring it in for service. Bring the power adapter as well, as you may be able to determine if it is the power adapter at fault, or the computer's power supply.

Acrobat 8 shows in the dock but won't open

I opened an earlier version of a CS program (Illustrator 3). Acrobat seemed to find what it needed and opened. It now opens normally - even with CS3 applications closed.

According to your description ,we seem to suffer a performance issue here.
Have you tried to open the task manager to check the system performance ? Is there any specific process occupied many system resources ?Will the issue occur only with the specific applications ?
We can try to restart the Windows Explorer process to have a check.
If it only occurred with the spefcific two applications ,we can try to end the other application processes manually from the task manager to have a check .
If this is caused by the specific application ,we may need to look for help from the third party support considering they are all the third party applications .

When I launch firefox it only shows address bar etc. but won't show the actual page, except in "full screen" view. My OS is Windows Vista.
In other words, I get the top menu bars and the rest of the screen show my desktop background.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

We use an Airport Extreme in my office, which works fine for me. Occasionally we need to have more than one computer running on it, but for some reason it won't connect to the internet. It says we have internet, but won't connect to wifi. What's going on?

I use my computer everyday in our office and have no issue connecting to the internet/wifi, but when my boss comes in and tries to connect it doesn't work. It tells her she has internet, but won't connect to the wifi. We've tried a few different tactics(the basic ones I've seen on here), but nothing seems to be working for us. My computer automatically connects to our wifi.
Just recently the Airport Extreme has started with the blinking amber colored light on the front, which I believe means something is wrong? Can anyone help us figure out what's going on and why we can't get my boss' computer to connect as it should?

Here's an update:
Now the light is not blinking. It's a solid, consistant green. I don't know if it helps to narrow it down or anything, but I just figured I'd mention it.

people repport that apple products in general I believe have problems with support for the outdated encryption type called wep encryption which is also pretty useless and easy to break
if you use that try disabling it or changing to wpa encryption
if you use MAC address filtering in your router then you need to add the appletv's MAC address to the positive list

Glad to hear it is all straightened out. You are right about the upgrade cost. That is one reason why Adobe switched to monthly licensing—no more upgrade cost <g, r, & d>. Of course we do have nearly monthly product upgrades. It is almost like playing whack a mole.
