Hey guys,
is it possible to shuffle music videos on apple tv? Don´t want to watch them in the same progression.

Normally shuffle is avaialble as a selectable option for certain content in the menus - ordinarily I wouldn't select shuffle if I didn't want it to and would select say an albu title to play all songs in an album.

Frankly just about any headset with the proper size connection will likely work. We like ear buds with soft coverings so even when we get a hard headset with a player we swap them out. While Apple might just possibly give you a set for free since they are not an expensive item, loss is not covered by warranty. If you're a long drive from an Apple Store it might cost you more in fuel and vehicle wear and tear than going to a local store and buying a comfortable replacement.

IF it's blinking alternating green and two orange (for 10 seconds) it needs to be reset. In this case you can try restoring it in iTunes.
IF, on the other hand, it's blinking alternating green and orange (for 2 seconds)
it's telling you that there's NO playable content on it.

Apple TV Shuffling

Does Apple TV programming select songs completely at random when shuffling? It seems that once a song is selected from an album, more songs are selected from that album more than would be expected from totally random selection.

Unless anyone here has a knowledge of the programming technique for implementing the shuffle I don't think we coule even guess at the randomness of the shuffle algorithm.

How do I Sync my ipad shuffle, after my computer was cleaned?

If "cleaned" means the drive was erased, and everything reinstalled, and you therefore have a new iTunes library, your shuffle may be set up to sync with your old iTunes library.
The easiest way to get it working with the new iTunes library may be to do a Restore, if you don't mind erasing the shuffle's current content. The Restore button is on the shuffle's Summary (or Settings) screen in iTunes. The Restore erases the shuffle, reinstalls its software, and sets it to default settings. It will be like when you first started using the shuffle. You can then sync it to your new iTunes library.
If "cleaned" means something else, please post back with more info. Also, it would be helpful to know the shuffle model and type of computer (Mac or Windows). This document shows the four shuffle models

Apple iPod shuffle External Battery Pack

Has anyone used this? It sounds like a cool idea especially for travelling where I can't recharge. does it use just regualr AA batteries? (on Amazon, it says AA in one place and AAA in another.)
And I read some reviews that said it ruined their Shuffle just by plugging it in. Any experience with that?

It will NOT work with the 2nd Gen Shuffle...think about HOW the Shuffle is connected to a powersource: through the headphone jack on its dock, thus rendering the headphone jack useless for connecting headphones to it. Some vendor MAY provide a new accessory which provides an audio out as well as a power source in teh future...

Actually, I never heard of MP3 players until I expressed a desire to get an Ipod; I thought the two were completely separate and different. However, someone explained to me that an Ipod was just one brand of an MP3 player (just as a Walkman is one brand of personal stereo player), and from there I looked for the machine I liked best, regardless of brand.

Terrible Sound with the Original Apple iPod shuffle 1st Generation

Just found my very old shuffle and wanted to give it to my 5 yo son to listen to. So I loaded songs on it but unfortunately the music sounds terrible - very tinny, low volume, almost techno with no bass. We are using the latest OS so I'm wondering if that's the problem. Any one have a possible solution? Did a factory restore and this didn't help at all.

Does this happen with any set or earbuds you try with the Shuffle? Was this something that wasn't a problem until recently?
If nothing else, try a hard reset of the iPod to see if that helps clear up the problem.

Here is the answer: go to http://support.apple.com In the search box at the top left type in the number 304996 and hit enter. This will bring you to a page with 4 solutions. Click on solution number 1 and follow the instructions. This should fix it.

IPod Shuffle not being recognized by my PC

Hi, I just bought 2 Apple iPod Shuffles from eBay. I have a slight problem. When I plug them into my USB port, iTunes does not recognize them. They show up in My Computer though. When I try to re-install/reset the factory settings it says "Plug in a device" or something like that. My guess is that I bought them from a Mac user.
My question is: How might I go about converting it from Mac to Windows?

I have a similar problem, my iPod Shuffle is being read in my Windows 2000 but in the iTunes it's not being recognized.
When I try to play the iPod, the green and orange lights blink simultaneously.
When I try and double-click on the icon for it in My Computer, it's saying that it can't be accessed because of an I/O device error.
Finally, I come to the site and get the latest update and when I try to update, it's saying that there's an iPod service error.
Hope that generalizes everything of what I'm saying and similar to Niko's problem as well.

you might want to try the iPod Five Rs Assistant.
Other than that, have you tried the iPod Shuffle Reset Utility? Be aware that you lose everything that is stored on your iPod when you use that utility.
You might get some more help in the Apple iPod shuffle (First Generation) Forum.

Ipod shuffle 2nd gen not getting detected in windows 7 64bit

i got an apple ipod shuffle 2nd gen and it is not getting connected in windows 7 64bit,but it perfectly works in windows 7 32bit,what to do.tried installiny itunes,reset etc.

Hey, I hear ya and can sympathize. I have the same
issue. The difference is that my computer can "see"
my ipod but it refuses to show up in itunes itself;
therefore, I can't put anything on the ipod (from the
computer) and vice-versa. Apple support is clueless.
This is very frustrating to say the least. Itunes
keeps telling me that my ipod is synced to a
"different" computer, which isn't true. It's the
same computer. The difference is that when I first
got the 'pod and used it with this computer (and
everything worked fine), I was running XP. I
installed Vista and after that, all the problems
started. If I ever get this resolved, believe me,
I'll post something here.
I'm guessing that somehow, itunes "sees" what
computer it's hooked to by "looking" at something in
the OS. Change the OS and it "thinks" it's seeing a
"different" computer.
Try reformatting it.
