It sounds like your iPod Classic is exhibiting some unexpected behaviour when you have it connected to your computer with the usb cable. I suggest the troubleshooting steps in the following article to help troubleshoot the device:

Start by resetting the iPod, then retesting the issue.
Reset
To reset your iPod:
1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip:
If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

You need to grab a micro usb cable and restore via iTunes

Hi Kappy Thanks for your answer. I did a reboot on my Macbook as suggested and this operation is going on non stop for 14 hours and on the screen always appears the same message that you can see in the picture in attachment. Any ideas?

Since you have Lion v10.7.4 installed, use Lion Recovery to repair the startup disk if necessary, or reinstall the Mac OS X.

Sorry, possibly you need a new hard drive or try reformating. First
you can try something like http://www.alsoft.com/diskwarrior/ it has been known to repair disk that DiskUtility could not. YMMV and they don't give it away.
If Disk Warrior can not repair then you need to Reformate the drive. Make sure you have a back-up in place no matter what.

You can try a system reinstall:
Reinstalling Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. Apple symbol appears, then shuts off

My Ipod touch is 3rd generation 8gb. Before it wouldnt turn on, so I held down the home and power button, I'm a pro at that. Except, it isnt the answer this time. The Apple symbol appears, gets bright like "hey, I'm gonna turn on for you." But then shuts off. I have tried charging it to see if thats the problem, and I have tried plugging it ino itunes, but the computer wont recognize it since it wont turn on. Any help would be fantastic. (:

Keep holding the Sleep/Wake + Home buttons down until the screen stays dark--even if it takes a minute or longer. Also, try get the iTunes to recognize the device by using DFU Mode. Then restore.

SMS. Deggie, had them check that. After a lengthy discussion with Senior Tech advisor, it appears it is iMessage/Face Time server (they are the same) issue, which will strong arm those into purchasing Data if they use iMessage over multiple devices, as the server registers the phone number associated with apple ID. Apple symbol appears on the screen but then nothing

When powering my Apple TV the Apple symbol comes on the screen but then disspears. I think it should then go to the menu but I have a blank screen.
The resolution indicator on the TV changes from 720 to 1080 and then slowly alternates from black to dark grey.
The TV is a Panasonic TXL55DT50B which seems to be working fine in all other aspects.
Can anyone help please.

Apple symbol appears

Annoyingly sometimes when my itouch goes to sleep, the Apple symbol periodically (every 5-8 seconds0 appears then disappears. My itouch is not therefore asleep and it drains the battery. Have resored a couple of times already. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Try restoring again, but this time do not re-load your last backup (i.e. set it up as a new iPod). Sometimes the backup file will have the problem embedded in it, so when you restore the iPod and re-load the backup you get the same problem. If you start fresh, you will have to re-do all your preferences, e-mail accounts, wi-fi accounts, etc. but sometimes that's what it takes.

IPad apple symbol appears but resets itself. its on a constant loop

Downloaded the latest update. left the iPad alone to come back to it after thirty minutes with the apple symbol on the screen. Tried turning it off and the tried hard boot (home button and power button together). Now its on a loop system where the apple symbol comes on for one minute, flashes blue screen and starts back to apple symbol.
