Apple TV sound is jumping every 3 or 4 seconds

When mirroring from my Macbook to apple tv, it all works no problems, but about every three to 4 seconds there is like a 1-2 second skip (like a jumping dvd).  very frustrating.  Any ideas??   All software is up todate.

Having same issue.  Playing music from either my iPhone, my wife's iPhone, or my Macbook Pro is horrible.  Sounds like a broken record/CD.  It sounds like it's skipping and/or static.  The stream is being interrupted.  Does this when playing from iTunes, music app on iPhone, or Pandora.  Thought it might be my wifi connectivity but we have no problem streaming music through the iTunes store or Netflix.
All software up to date.

  • Hi, The burn quality of iDVD in very low for my slide shows. Images do no tlook good on playback and the sound track jumps every 99 images due to the way chapters are set up in it. How to I output a slide show to be high quiality?

    Hi
the output form iDVD is very poor quality( Low res due to compression by iDVD) when I produce a slide show in iPhoto and share it over to iDVD then burn it. What is the solution? I like to add the title page in idvd ads it looks professional, but hte end output in NOT professional.
Also in iDVD the soundtrack that was flawless in iphoto now jstutters every 99 images and IDVD apparantly can only process bulk images in chapters that contain 99 images. So if you have a slide show with 245 images in you get hesitation at two points of teh slideshow as it struggles to start the next set of 99 images in the slide show!!! How annoying overall. Please help??????

There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico:  http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie  as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast,  for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!
To simply create a slide show in iDVD 7 onwards from images in iPhoto or stored in other places on your hard disk or a connected server, look here:

  • HT201412 iPad jumps from the start screen to the white apple screen every 2 to 3 seconds and will not stop. Shutting it off and resetting has no affect.

My iPad jumps from the start screen to the white apple screen every 2 to 3 seconds. Turning it off or resetting it does not work. The restore from iTunes will not work due to the fact that I need to click off Find My Devise before I can restore...I can't get in to click that off.
    Any ideas?

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. If you did not do step 4 properly, start all over again.

i have this same issue. The sound was working fine. I have to pause the streaming, and then when I hit play again, no sound. I have also tried, unplugging, for 30 minutes (everything: sound cable, HDMI, power, and network) then restarting. I tried switching the HDMI source. The sound works fine on the tv without the apple tv or with the dvd. Just not with the apple tv. I have updated the software. The sound doesn't work for streaming via airplay, playing anything off itunes, it doens't even have sound for the sound effects when you navigate on the home screen. I too am extremely frustrated. It appears as if my startup disk has been reversed and not using the fusion ssd portion as it should.  At least its now reversed as to what it used to be originally before.  the 128gb ssd used to be on top.  Is my mac booting fusion correctly?  Thank you for responding as I was about to reformat.

  • I restored my iPhone 5 to IOS 7.1 on computer and tried to restore from icloud back up. It says "restore completed" but Apple logo keeps popping up every 5 seconds. It restored only contacts and sms. I can access the phone but have to stop if logo pops

    Hello khanhlinh98,
I would recommend performing the following steps in order to stabilize your iPhone.
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • If my application is free to download, but requires my user to purchase a monthly subscription, will Apple collect a 30% fee every month that user is billed?  Or will Apple only collect a 30% fee for the first month?  If so, is there anyway around this?

    Hi!
I am looking into developing an app for the App Store and my question is regarding Apple's 30% in app purchase fee.  If my application is free to download, but requires my user to purchase a monthly subscription, will Apple collect a 30% fee every month that user is billed?  Or will Apple only collect a 30% fee for the first month?  If so, is there anyway around this?
What all does Apple collect a 30% app store fee on?  What does Apple not collect a fee on in the App Store?
How does Amazon get billed if someone purchases something from Amazon from within their iPhone application?

Any in-app purchases are subject to the 30% withholding.
    No way around it.
Amazon purchases are physical items (not digital) and do not go through in-app purchase so they are exempt.

This is happening globaly on the Apple TV. I have done the restore on the Apple TV and I've done a restore connecting to my laptop. It is on the lastest update. my new apple computers sound is gone what can i do to get it back ?

Provided you haven't muted it (F10 key, can check in System Preferences /  Sound), and you have recently used headphones or any device that plugs into the jack, peek and see if there's a dot of light at the bottom.

I have switched languages to french but get the "apple" beep sound when I run spellcheck not results at all?

You need to select the text and apply:
    Inspector > Text > More > Language > Français
So Pages knows what language to check it with. Language is like bold or color or font, it is part of the text style.

Did you ever find a solution to this problem because I have it too. I have gotten used to it when listening to movies etc., although it can startle me, but I find it very irritating when I am trying to record something off my computer, like a quiet meditation, onto a voice memo, and this happens…I have to start over and hope it doesn't keep happening.

  • What is the cause of my MBP coming out of sleep to sound a long low tone and repeat every 5 to 7 seconds?

I put my MBP to sleep with: Paralells, Safari, Sophos, LittleSnitch and smcFanControl running as they are suppose too.
Two hours later I went to wake my MBP and I get a long low tone and repeat it was repeating every 5 to 7 seconds. I had to do a hard power down in order to reboot or get any type of response from the MBP...
Does anyone have any ideas of what this is. This machine is not even 30 days old yet & I am a new comer to the world of MBP's.

Thank you all for the input regarding grounding. This was the problem, but not from a power outlet. The Sure 8900 microphone is has a 3-prong "balanced" connector at the microphone, but then is adapted to 1/8 inch connector so that it will fit the "mic" input jack on the iMac. The result - a conversion of a balanced to unbalanced signal. After describing this to a technician a a local electronics store, he immediately said "You can't go from a balanced to an unbalanced input and not have grounding noise. The reason: one channel shares the ground - allowing the AC clipping to occur.
Solution: The 8900 mic comes with a 1/4 inch adapter making the mic "balanced" if connected. Put the 1/4 inch input over the 1/8 inch input, PLUG THIS INTO A USB mixer and into the USB port- problem solved - no more buzzing AND BETTER RECORDING QUALITY!!!
