Apple TV Touch Screen
I have been trying to figure out how I can set up an Apple TV or Mini in a room much like a home automated audio system (not concerned about video just yet). hours of research and I still can't find an answer.
I'd like to have a small LCD screen mounted on a wall, and I can control the Apple TV interface OR the frontrow interface with the touch screen.
Anyone do this before? Any links? Any manuals? Any hacks?
That would not work with the ATV. If the touchscreen uses a mousedriver, then you could ask the Apple staff at an Apple store whether Front Row on the mac mini can be used with a mouse. That would do it. You can also check out the Front Row forum on this site for an answer.
Not sure why that would be easier/cooler than using the remote on either mac mini/Front Row or ATV. The advantage of ATV (if you are only interested in audio) is only that you can buy from the iTunes shop directly. Although you can do that with mc mini also, but you'd have to exit Front Row, and use a keyboard to buy stuff off iTunes. Its just tedious, I did it for a while when I had the mac mini connected to my TV. ATV is much easier.

My apple ipad touch screen is not responding it was working since few hours then that happened. There is no a single point on the responds to touch but everything is working on the welcome screen, detects the Wi-Fi ... etc.
First thing I did was passing on my local agent store. They did a soft reset what caused lose all data and apps (not a problem) but they didn't fix and asked to visit the support branch .. now i can't use the "Siri trick" and I think it's not helpful after resetting my device.
I tried removing the screen protector but still no hope. Turned off it and cleaned the screen but didn't help!!
Is There another way? Any expected scenarios/time when I visit the repair branch in Egypt?

I've mentioned that I did that now I'm in another stage, The iPad at the main reseller support department and they told me now that they will give me another in return .... the strange thing I have heard was that I have to wait 4 weeks until they get me one from Apple .. I'm i Egypt -
Will Apple iPod Touch Screen Color Change? Will there be a white screen version soon? Since the apple iPod touch accessories are mostly white, it would be nice to have a white screen instead of a black screen to go with that; especially around the Christmas holidays. Many people are expecting to purchase them as presents for their families and friends. If apple was to change the screen color for the ipod touch 4G, it would get more people to purchase them just because of the color.

Nobody here would know for sure since this is just a user-to-user forum. Personally, I haven't heard of such, so as of now, probably not. Perhaps you can suggest this to Apple through this link.

Touch screen on Iphone slowly, over a few days stopped responding. Went to Genius Bar and was given a new 3GS because they didn't know how to fix the issue. Cool. Went home synced with Macbook Pro (new-12/2010), two days later same issue. This time when I went to Genius Bar they restored the phone to factory settings and instructed me to load as a new phone in Itunes instead of restoring information of the previous phone, which is an option good for when your replacing phone not fixing one Anywho, did everything they told me to do. SAME ISSUE A FEW DAYS LATER. This time I was told the software issue is with my Macbook and I thought this made sense, so I took it in along with the phone. That was yesterday. Phone working intermittently since leaving Apple. I was given instructions that if their "daily" fix didn't work to erase hard-drive and reinstall software that came with the macbook and start fresh. This would definately fix the issue. Extreme yes, but I need use of my phone, especially since we got rid of the house phone and all use cell phones. So last night I did the required erase of hard-drive and re-loaded all software that came with it and Microsoft Office for Mac. Plugged in the phone to set up in itunes and thought that was it. My phone is still not working. Can't answer when I try, can't make calls, etc. What the heck do I do? I'm starting to feel like a major lamo having to keep going back to Genius Bar, but I know enough to know these issues should have been resolved with the steps I've taken. I even went as far as to restore through my husbands computer and same thing. Could there be a problem with Itunes? Could the magnetic stripe in my debit card be hurting the device somehow, although that's a long shot since I have had the same or similar case since getting the phone. Frustrated beyond belief. Apple support not open at this hour so I'm trying my luck here.....

The iPod's firmware is corrupt. You'll need to restore it again in iTunes. If necessary, place the iPod in recovery mode for iTunes to recognize the device. Use the instructions in this Apple support document to walk you through the process of placing the iPod Touch into recovery mode.

If the touch screen physically doesn't work, it's too late to back it up. You should have been syncing your contacts with something... a cloud service or contact manager on a PC. If you were not, then I'm afraid you're going to lose them.

- Try on another computer

I submitted my feedback and it reads "Hi Apple, My family owns an Ipod Shuffle, 2 Nanos, 2 iphones, one ipad and the AppleTV. However, I have an HP laptop. Why? I want the features of both the laptop and the ipad but am not willing to convert to the MAC book until the ipad and the mac book merge together as one. Is this even a possibility? I know you could create it in a split second. Why do you think you haven't? I get sick of unclicking the ipad from my cheap keyboard and then having it all cluttered up right by my laptop. If the mac book had a touch screen and it could flip the keyboard upside down (like the clam case does) so that I could use a laptop like an ipad then I would be on cloud 9. No pun intended. In fact, why don't you just call the thing "Cloud9." Just sayin'"

When is apple going to have touch screen iMacs and power books?
Every kind of PC has touch screen now including TVs. It's hugely disappointing that apple is not embracing this especially since they started the movement to touchscreen with the IPhone. Are there plans to begin using touchscreens if not is there a reason? Thanks for any information you might have.
kind of feel like Apple's losing its "cutting-edge, innovative, pushing new technology, user friendly options & ideas" identity with the passing of Mr. Jobs.
I feel that touch-screen functionality & TV are two areas he would have broached by now if he was still with us to champion them through. Along with, I'm certain, others only he could of come up with. -

Why touch and swivel screens arent a good idea on a laptop:
The so-called Gorilla arm: Gorilla arm is a term describing the tired arms users get after reaching out and touching a screen for a long time.
Added thickness: Touch screen panels are usually thicker than non-touch ones—especially if the touch panel has an active digitizer for pen support.
Possibly shorter battery life: Touch screens require more power. Laptop Magazine compared a couple of touch screen laptops with their non-touch counterparts (same model and size) and found that the non-touch laptops lasted over an hour longer.
Easy to break: Swivel screens are notoriously prone to break, especially the hinge and the cable that feeds the screen from the logic board which is being constantly twisted.
And thats what the Ipad is for. -

So I was wondering would this work?The warranty is against manufacturing defect. It is not insurance against accidents. Apple sells Apple Care + (note the +) which does cover accidents, but it does not cover iPods.
Out-of-warranty replacement is the most likely outcome. -
How do you stop inadvertent contact with the touch screen? Why no Lock Button? Doesn't anyone work out at Apple?? MY Gen 7 also doesn't link to workout equipment automatically like my Gen 6 and I can't stop the bloody voiceover. Any thoughts?
