Apple TV .. verify my account data on my computer before purchase.

Why does Apple TV need me to verify my account data on my iTunes account before purchase? I don't have to do this with iPad or iphone. It is a nuisance, especially if my wife is making the movie decision since she doesn't like to go into my laptop data to enter my credit card info.

The iTunes music store makes you verify your account any time you are connecting from a new device with a new account. It is to prevent credit card fraud. As long as you are not chaning the account used you should only have to do this once when you first use a new device.

This is wrong because I have downloaded scored of songs on this computer but I answered the security queations anyway, only to be told I have answered incorrectly.

Have you re-installed or updated the OS on that computer ? There have also been the occasional post from other people when it hasn't been the first purchase.
If it's not accepting your answers then the page that you posted from has instructions for how to reset them i.e. if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 half-way down that page should give you a reset link.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use

Hey all - Looks like this scam is still alive and out there as of today 31 Mar 15. These guys made it look darn pretty legit - right down to the Apple copyright at the bottom. The first pic (blue line) is how it appears in your inbox. The second screen grab is what it looks like when you open the email.
1) How it appears in your Inbox: Looks like it is coming from Apple and the subject is: Verification System: Please Update Your Details.
2) Here is what it looks like when you open the email. It looks like it could be an Apple ad. Please don't fall for it - NEVER click on a link in an email that asks you to log into ANY account to confirm or verify your information. NO legitimate company will ask their users to do this. Definitely a phishing attempt. DELETE this email. If you want to make sure your Apple ID is is good to go, open your own browser session and go to the Apple website and login to verify your account.

The ipod touch will sync with one comptuer at a time. Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content.

I Bought an iTunes gift card, was able to redeem it online, but the next step for being able to purchase on the store website was for me to receive an email from Apple to "verify" my account. The email never arrived, and the 48 hrs has passed since I submitted my case to Apple. Very disappointed so far.

Issues with multiple apple IDs and iTunes accounts

I work in an office that is all mac based and have mac computers at home. I have an apple ID and iTunes account for personal use where I purchase books and music and I have an office apple ID and iTunes account to share calendars with colleagues using iCloud and purchase work related apps like upgrades to operating systems, etc.
I have an iPhone that is set up with my personal apple ID so that my music is on my phone and so that the photo streaming is attached to personal photos, etc. Is there a way to sync my personal contacts with my contacts that are registered with my professional apple ID? Ideally, I would like to have my iOS devices syncing my calendar and contacts with my work apple ID and my music and photos with my personal ID. Is there any hope or am I stuck?

Welcome to the Apple community.
So far as contacts and calendars go, you can share your works data and your personal data with your iOS device by entering the second account as a secondary account in settings > mail, contacts and calendars.
You should also be aware that your iCloud and iTunes accounts and different accounts, you do not have to use the same ID for both.

Apple cancelled my warranty and will not fix computer!

I sent my computer in to be fixed after talking to a genius on the phone. All I needed fixed was the inside top case (around the keyboard) because a small piece had cracked and broken off from closing the top and it hurts to put my wrist on it to type. It all sounded fine and a friend recently got a new case for her macbookpro because it was discolored. Today I see my repair status is on hold so I called and they said that my computer had impact damage and would cost $500 to repair before reinstating my AppleCare to replace the case. ***? I have searched the web and can not find this happening to anyone else! Does this sound normal? My computer has not had a hard fall. It just cracked from daily closing. My friend's computer has dents and its 2 years older and they replaced her case for free. There's not anything even wrong with my computer besides the case. Am I missing something?

How have you packed the machine? If it bumped against anything hard, or heavy books were against it for prolonged period of time, or it was against a seat inside a backpack, that might have damaged it if it wasn't properly padded. If none of those describe the problem, and you've always pulled your cables out properly* as described below:

Call 1-800-APLCARE, and tell them you believe your machine was manufactured with the screws too tight or loose, and it was only noticeable after prolonged use, and believe they should fix the case at their cost if your machine is under a year old, or you have purchased AppleCare, and it is less than 3 years from date of the computer's purchase. If you are beyond AppleCare, (either first year, or purchased 3 years from date of computer's purchase), and purchased by credit card, and believe the case was never the right tightness to begin with, sometimes your credit card prolongs warranty, and you can ask them.
If none of the above seems to help you, and there was a possible heavy bump, or improper cable disconnection, unfortunately only your homeowners insurance might cover it, if it has accident protection. Warranty does not equal insurance. Above all, be calm when talking to all of them.

I can't erase all data and content from my iPhone 4s. It says iCloud account not verified, when it only asks for my Apple ID to erase all data and content.

It's really been puzzling me, I've never logged in the Apple site on a laptop before - I have been getting the same message 'Unable to verify iCloud account' every time I try and erase all data and content from my iPhone 4s. Does anyone know if you need to do the IOS update to be able to restore all data and content? I have not installed the new update on either of my iPhone 4S's yet.

If you want to change your iCloud ID or password on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated information. Note: this only deletes the account and any synced data from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts it will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

Might I suggest a password reset?
Maybe you can click on the Reset Password link instead of trying to log in at appleid.apple.com.

I would try this since Apple TV is built to allow multiple Apple Ids
On you Apple TV
General > Settings >Itunes Store > Add New Account (put yours in here)
Then Switch account to your Apple Id
