Apple TV w/no iPhone, iPad, or iTunes
Does it make sense to use AppleTV if you don't use the other Apple services?
Hi Brian. We want to use it basically for streaming movies and tv shows via Netflix, Hulu, etc. but we don't have iPhones. We can hook up our Droid phones via hdmi but would prefer Apple tv as a permanent connection without having to set the phone up every time. So with that in mind is AppleTV good for us?

It sounds like you are unable to launch iTunes and get an error message instead. I would try the troubleshooting outlined in this article named:
iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues

If it comes down to uninstalling, then re installing iTunes altogether, use this link to download the 64 bit version of iTunes directly.

IPhone/iPad different iTunes and device ID
I have iTunes match on my Apple ID and my wife has an iPhone and iPad which is on her Apple ID. In the Setting on iOS5, under Store, I have my Apple ID though. Does this cause any conflicts? The reason I ask this is that this was the only change I made and her Calendar on iCloud was wiped out. Absolutely puzzling.

You cannot sync Contacts & Calendars using iTunes and must use iCloud (but you can sync everything elsee through iTunes). -
If you registrate one Apple ID for each iPhone/iPad, you'll get 5GB on iCloud for each Apple ID, right? I have two iPhones and one iPad with the same Apple ID, why can't I get 5 GB fo each of them?
Actually, everyone missed one point, when a device is priced, the cost of icloud storage space for that device is also included in it that is why they are able to give you 5gb each for each user ID, in nutshell there is nothing free coming with apple device purchase, it is paid for. What they are trying by giving only 5gb per user ID irrespective of the number of devices used is pure broadlight looting, they take money from you when you buy each device and give you nothing, This is a case of goods and services bought but not fully deliverd ie apple can be suied for discreminatory treatment towards it's users. I wonder why no one tried this yet in America where everyone sue everyone for petty things..... there is no one to take up this issue? . if tim got any love for the guys who shell out money for the devices his company makes, he should be implimenting this as priority before someone wake up from sleep and sue him.

I am signed into itunes with my id and my iphone / ipad are also on this id but when i go in to manage devices its only showing the iphone. Also just up dated my ipad now its saying not charging when its hooked up to the computer?
If the problem persists, you'll probably have to make another apple id, it wont take off any games or music or apps or anything you've bought it will all stay there, i have two apple id's and i don't have a problem with anything.

Smart Playlists not syncing correctly to iPhone/iPad with iTunes Match
My manual playlists are syncing correctly to both devices, but smart playlists are a mess. They don't seem to match any criteria that they are created with, especially song limits. However, smart playlists are syncing correctly in iTunes on multiple computers. This is really frustrating because 99% of my playlists I listen to are smart ones. Anyone know of how to fix this? Apple, do you have any information on this or when it would be fixed?

I activated iTunes Match this morning.
Everything worked well apart from my smart playlists which cannot be found on my iphone/ipad anymore.
And yes, they relied on other lists...
BUT
A few smart playlists remained!!! (although they also rely on other lists)
So, after a bit of soul searching, here's my conclusion.
Those smart playlists that remained were actually dependant on "folders" which contain lists!
SO
I havn't tested yet (cause I'm at work), but if you put a list you wish to refer to in a folder, you should then be able to refer the smart list to the folder and not the actual list; and hopefully the smart list should then get synced!!!

How can i restore my music from my iPhone/ iPad to iTunes on my mac
Hi I had my iPhone and iPad synced using Itunes on my Mac book. My hardrive crashed and apple have replace the hardrive in my mac book. I know everyone will say do you back up ect, I know i should :-(
i have got most of my work back from the server at work but not my music.
so the question is how can i copy my iPhone/ iPad content back to the newly installed itunes which is blank due to the new hard drive. i have got my purchaces back because they are stored on my accound but i really need to copy back the whole iphone and ipad content
any ideas would be greatly recieved

I copied mp3 files from a usb stick and they appear in finder in my itunes media/music folder and on my iphone and ipad with itunes match but not in the itunes library?
Not working. And it didn't used to be a problem. iTunes can find the songs with Search Library, but doesn't show in any index (by song, artist or album). Finding with Search Library offers to play or add to Up Next, but neither actually does anything. Using File-Add to Library does nothing as well. The only way I can get the new files to play is to find in Finder and Open with iTunes.
I suspect Apple is trying to drive me to buy from iTunes store. Not gonna happen. If they don't fix this, I'll find another player.
This worked fine before OSX 10.8. -
Apple VGA adapter for iPhone/iPad flakey
I have the Apple iPhone/iPad vga adapter through the 30 pin dock connector.
Works fine on my my iPad v3.2
Works fine on my wife's iPhone 4 v4.1
Complains incompatible device on my iPhone 4 v4.1
No amount of reboots fix the problem, it appears that one of the two iPhone 4's won't work with the VGA adapter.
Anyone else seen this or have a work around to make an Apple device work with an Apple adapter?

IWork files do not sync with iPhone/iPad using iTunes
When trying to sync Pages, Numbers or Keynote documents by adding the files to the respective app category in iTunes >Apps >Apps >Documents and pressing Add..., I see the word "sync" on iPhone/iPad just for about a second and then the homescreen on iPhone/iPad reappears. But the files are not there (in Pages, Numbers or Keynote). Other apps I use work fine with this transfer method. What is the problem here?

I tried to toggle on and off every setting you can imagine and restarting. Deleting the apps and reinstalling.

Cant backup Iphone/ipad on itunes
I cant back up my iphone/ipad on my user. Whenever i need to backup my phone i have to switch user on my mac in orther to achieve backing up!

As to the sync performance problem, you'll need to provide more details about your system, particularly your Windows and iTunes versions, and whether you have any antivirus or antispyware utilities on the system (which often can cause connection problems), before anyone can offer much in the way of advice.

Issue syncing Aperture library to iPhone/iPad using iTunes
I have about 23,000 images in my Aperture library (currently running v.3.6), with the images sorted into projects, with the title of each project beginning with a date in this convention: yyyy-mm-dd. I have about 800 projects in my Aperture library, and with that kind of naming convention, it is very easy to sort the projects in chronological order.
When I sync my Aperture library via iTunes 12 to both my iPhone 6 and my iPad Air, both of which are on iOS 8.1.3, the 800 projects are not listed in that chronological order. Rather, the order that they appear to the viewer is completely random. As I look at Photos on my iPhone right now, for instance, the following projects are next to each other: 2008-05-04, 2006-10-01, 2014-03-22, 2011-05-20 and 2009-01-05. This makes it impossible to find the the project that I am looking for (imagine wanting to show someone one project out of 800, and not having any idea where it is).
This has happened on an off throughout the history of iOS - i.e., with some releases, all of my projects will sort in this order, and then with a new release, boom the sort order has been broken. It's been broken since the release of iOS 8. Any thoughts?Try posting this question in iPhone forum.
Also, have you reset your iPhone? (hold the power and home button together for several seconds until the unit shuts down, then followed by apple logo)
After that, if it still gives you the same issue, try restoring your iPhone via iTunes. That usually takes care of all ills.
