Apple TV - What wireless rate connected at ?
Hi there,
I have a nice new Apple Tv all connected up to my 802.11n wireless router working fine. On my iMac, I can go into the Network Monitor and it will tell me what rate I am connected to the wireless network at.
In Atv, all it seems to show me is a status bar ?? Is there any way in my Atv to see what rate it has connected to my wireless network at ?

There is no such feature on the tv. The device is 802.11n capable, so one assumes it will connect to your base station using this ability.

Our Apple TV loses connectivity to our wireless network while using Airplay from our iPad or iPhone 5. This started occurring after the latest iOS update. We are able to wirelessly stream movies from iTunes without any problem. This issue occurs only when using AirPlay. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have a:
new MBPr 15" late 2013 with dedicated graphics card
new airport extreme base station
3rd generation apple tv
iPhone 5s
200mb download speed (not important, as streaming video on your local network has nothing todo with outside bandwidth)
All equipment is up to date software wise. Airplay mirroring from my laptop to my apple tv is ok. I get frequent lag, pixelation, audio skip (every 10 mins or so).
I'm using the 5ghz specturm to connect to the airport express so shouldn't have any inteference from my neibours (accordiing to iStumbler i'm the only person with a 5ghz setup using channel 30). I've tried connecting apple tv wirelessly and wired. No issues streaming from my iPhone or an iPad!
Surprisingly, using apps such as Beemer or Air Video Server on my MBP work better than native mirroring when it comes to video play back.
Strange when you think how Air Video works:
Video file lives on MBP
iPhone connects to laptop
Video plays on iPhone and is sent to Apple TV via Air Mirroring
Rather than:
Video played on laptop
Video sent to Apple TV
Seems bizzare that my iPhone can handle better streaming than my pro laptop. -

Is your Epson printer on Apple's list of AirPrint capable printers? See <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356>.
If it is an AirPrint printer, then your WiFi router may not correctly handle Bonjour data required by AirPrint. Contact the router's manufacturer to see if there is a change to its setup or a firmware update, that will make it work.
One other possibility is that there could be a print job stuck in the iPad's print queue. Double click the iPad's Home button and a row of recent Apps will appear along the bottom of the screen. Scroll across and see if the Print Center is there.

SB1983, by extended display do you mean mirror? All MBP since early 2011 support it if they are running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. The resolution will depend on your Apple TV (2 Gen is 720 and 3rd Gen 1080) and wifi, it will lose some quality but I find it minimal. It does also mirror the sound.

Your advice did not help me. I also installed 10.7.4 combo but the situation is the same.

How can I find out what email is connected to my apple ID account
Trying to download an app onto my iphone but can't remember my password. tried to retrieve my password but nothing has been sent to my email. tried several times. is there anyway to see what email is connected to my apple ID account?
I've tried all of them but my wife set up my phone and I'm lost. (it's not going to her email address either)

When I tried to answer the security questions it asks my birthdate and then asks "answer your secret question"

I just purchased an Apple TV. I have a pc running windows 7. It is connected to a router and the router is connected to a wireless router. I connect my iPhone, iPad and apple tv to wireless network but do not know how to put the pc on the wifi network so the Apple TV can do home share.
I don't mean to be facetious but sometimes the simplest things are overlooked. To connect to your library you have to have the computer where the iTunes library is located running and with iTunes open. It also needs to be on the same network. My network is dual band and works with either stream but a friend of mine does not. He has to set the computer and the Apple TV to the same band. Hope this helps.

I am assuming you have an ipod nano 6th gen (the small one with a touch screen)
unfortunately, the ipod nano 6 gen can not play videos whatsoever unless you hack it so even with a cable it does not work.

Wi-Fi or another interference source. Try turning off the Wi-Fi and see if the problems continue. If that solves the problem, see if you can set your Wi-Fi to run in the 5 GHz range.

New Apple TV and wireless Connection Question?
My son lives in Russia and works for the State Dept. He want an Apple TV. The problem is that he is not tech savvy. Does the Apple TV need to connect wired or wireless to the router or just to the laptop to stream. He has a wireless connection for the laptop but if he has to go through set up and connect it to a router, I will never be able to walk him through it from 10,000 miles away. I have the old Apple tv and have it connected to the router with a wired connection. But I guess my IMAC synchs with the old Apple TV to send programs whether it is hardwired to a router or not. I hope this makes sense.
New AppleTv will connect via ethernet or wi-fi as before.
You could more than likely just connect it directly to the laptop with ethernet to stream locally stored content,but you'd need to set up some kind of internet sharing for it to access any internet or itunes store features.
AppleTV could also be set to work with an ad hoc wireless network from laptop but again internet connection would have to be shared over this, and it might be a bit fiddly too if router setup is going to be fiddly.
Simplest would be to connect both to router with ethernet. Have you considered mains powerline ethernet adapters if running cables is impractical? -
My imac won't startup past the spinning gear and my apple keyboard is wireless but it won't connect, how do I fix the problem so I can get into safe mode?

I have already tried to replace the batteries but since the computer won't get past the spinning wheel of death then the keyboard won't connect.Please follow Apple's advice in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570. If you need to get your hands on a wired USB keyboard, even a PC one will work fine.
Do not follow the previous poster's advice, that option is a "last chance" option. OS X is stable and in most cases a reinstall is never needed. Follow the directions in Apple's letter. -
