I figured out the problem.
This is going to sound a little crazy, but I've spent a lot of time on this one.
There's some kind of incompatibility with Lion and Seagate ST31000340AS drives. I was trying to install Lion on these drives and it would consistently fail. I've also tried to use these drives in a RAID volume. No go. I tried three different drives of this model. All of them failed.
I tried to install Lion on a Seagate ST31000528AS and it worked first time and sings beautifully.

Click on the blue link I gave. You would need to hook it to a computer running iTunes using a microUSB lead.
If you have an Apple Store nearby take it there and see if they can sort it out.
It is possible the display resolution is wrong - you could try holding menu and up arrow on remote together for 6 seconds which will make it cycle display resolutions - but only if it is actually working but showing a black screen due to wrong resolution selected.

I think you are mistaken, your ipad has no problem to sync with the cloud. Your pc however does, since you can't check the check box. So why do not you try to concentrate on that part of problem and find out why. For starters, check what happens if you disable your antivirus/firewall on your computer/network and check box again. Describe what you see and messages you get. Good luck.

I use tripit on both my iphone and ipad. However, while tripit will sync with the gmail calendar on my iphone, it will not sync with the gmail calendar on my ipad, even though the setting are all in place, correctly for both.

I use the "Tripit" travel app on both my iPhone and iPad2. While I have no problem getting my Tripit info synced to the Gmail Calendar on my iPhone, I am unable to get Tripit to sync to the Gmail calendar on my iPad, even though the setup information (email address, settings, etc.) are exactly the same. I know that Tripit is installed correctly on the iPad, as I am able to go to that app directly and correctly see all of my info. However, even though I've set up the secondary "Tripit" calendar feed (to Gamil) on the iPad, it's not synchronizing and showing up. Is anyone else having this problem?

All I had to do was complain. I synced my iPhone to the Windows machine, checked the other account at iTunes prompting (where no apps had shown up previously), reconnected the iPad, and 140 apps downloaded including the App Store. I have no idea why.

Not 'authorized' to play music in slideshow by itunes even though I AM

iphoto slideshow I made last year with song I bought last year on itunes. Same slideshow already saved as Quicktime last year! BOTH refuse to play song without extra 'authorization' from itunes. You need iTunes 7 and QuickTime 7.1.3. Both are free downloads.
Yes, it is frustrating how they keep trying to force us to upgrade. Sometimes feels as if we are being conned. But I don't think it's as bad as you think. Apple offers iTunes 7 as a free download. Free because the real money for them is in selling from the iTunes Store. Also you can update Quicktime Player for free. You only have to pay if you wish to step up to QuickTime Pro. As far as I know, you don't need to Pro version to enable your iTunes.
I wish I could help you with your troubles upgrading QuickTime, but I just don't have experience in this area. You could post a new topic on the QuickTime forum and maybe someone can help you figure this one out. And if you want to see how many others have been is the same boat, search the iTunes for Mac forum for "unauthorized error update QuickTime." When iTunes 7 and QuickTime 7.1.3 were first released, and suddenly users couldn't play their iTMS songs, there were hundreds of users posting and puzzling over the cause.

Hello, My husband spent all day waiting to talk to someone at Photoshop, to speak with them, while he is mostly bed bound now, on a feeding tube in his stomache, and is awaiting a surgury to keep him alive. He will be even more bed ridden afterwards. As always, and the complex health issues, he also could pass.
He was crying by the time he tried to explain his story of need.
You see, he has been using Phtoshop for many years, heavily invested, for his photo's and work. His Power Mac G5 crashed, we could not afford another, and he had just purchased CS5. So we could only afford the IMac now, we again needed to upgrade to CS6. The install alows you to use it on two computers, a computer and laptop.
We tried explaining to the sales people when he finally got through, that we need an install for just a Windows laptop, we can not afford another Mac, we need a laptop for him in bed, if he will be able to do anything, he wants to work on his art.
They, Photoshop, were very unsimpethtic, we just purchased an upgrade for CS6, because of the IMac, yet, now we can not install and use our second choice on a Windows platform. Again, we would need to pay full upgrade price again. Yet, he only has it installed on Imac, they told him he would have to de-actiate it, WHICH, I ALSO HELP HIM IN HIS WORK, WE KEEP COPIES ON A EXFAT32 harddrive too, and Mac, to share and show clients.
The people of Photoshop did not even care he is dying, litterly, slowly,,, but he is keeping positive that all will be well, and survive.

Thank you, but you see, it needs to be on the Macintosh for me, and he is getting a PC, Windows laptop donated to him to use. You should have an option, as with many software providers do, Windows or Mac/Apple platform. We will only be using theses two computers, and stated in their agreement, two computers are allowed, our printer allows it, many softwares allow this.
He will need this "work" inspiration while recuperating, many years he has used their product. And now, he is going to be constant in bed, where as I can also help with the IMac.

I am running windows xp and tried to download the latest version of iTunes 11.1.4 for windows xp. Unfortunately it did not install correctly. How do I work around this problem to reinstall iTunes?
