Apple TV wireless module - install in a macbook?

Hi - Just in the process of sorting out my AppleTV which I picked up today and have a question over the wireless card that is in it.
Basically - I have a Rev A Macbook and am wondering if I can take the wireless card out of the ATV and fit it to my macbook thus giving it n spec wireless.
The ATV will be hardwired into the network and it would be nice to put the wireless card to good use...

To be able to use the mouse and keyboard to full effect, such as key combos on boot and all the mouse buttons, its best to install the drivers from the cd that came with the mouse and keyboard.

881 Router Wireless Module

Hi Everyone,
I was given an 881 router to work on. I was told that it has the integrated wireless module installed, but I cannot see any radio antenna on the device. Is there a command I can run to determine if the wireless module is installed. I tried sh ver and it did not reveal any information to suggest there is a wireless module.
Also in global configuration mode, the command interface Wlan-ap0, is not accepted.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

880W antenna is fixed. You can't remove or replace it. So if there's no antenna then it doesn't have one.
The command "sh inventory" that Michael has posted is a pretty good indication as to the exact model of the router you've got. "sh version | b License UDI" command will also help.

Apple mobile device support install/uninstall sets my wireless to limited access

Windows 7 64 bit.
Current itunes 10.4
When installing itunes 10.5, my wireless connection changed to limited access. I can not connect to the internet with wireless. If I put my ethernet cable in, i can connect to the internet through the ethernet cable.
I found no solutions to fix the limited access issue. So, i had to restore my system. After the restore my wireless connection could connect to the internet again.
But now itunes does not work. One of two messages come up. The latest (i have done several system restores). Either quicktime was not found or something about iTunes Library.itl is out of synch with the current version of itunes.
Now i decide to uninstall all the itunes installed products one at a time. Itunes, quicktime, Apple software update, Apple mobile device support and there it goes, my wireless connection changes to limited access again.
Any help would be great.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

After installing it, my macbook would not restart. All i would see is the Apple and the twirling circle. To get back to be able to use internet i had to put Snow Leopard disc holding "C" key.

I did a software update check. It showed to update to 10.6.8v1.1. After installing it, my MacBook would not restart.
I have tried this more than once. After the install all that happens is i get the Apple emblem and the twirling circle. I have let that go for literaly a couple hours with no results.
To get to be able to use my Macbook i have had to install Snow Leopard by holding the C" key and re-installing Snow Leopard.
Any help would be appreciated. i Have purchased "Lion" and cant access App Store to install until this update is done.

That's why you can't access the App Store. Minimum requirement is v10.6.6
Install this combo update > Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
Then restart your Mac, open the App Store.
You can download Lion by clicking Redeem under Quick Links right side of the App Store window then entering the redemption code.

Haven't much problem with Airs around here, since they have a SSD they tend to be more reliable.
Perhaps it was a bad update, have you ran through this list of possible fixes?
Do as many as possible, starting with #1. Until the problem is resolved.
Use the boot 10.6 USB instead of the disk of course.

This is what I found out about my own question as nowhere in my search of Apple support was there a similar problem addressed.
What I found that was very frustrating in Apple Support was the references to going into FaceTime preferences to reset certain items. But it can't be opened
if I couldn't activate the sign in... and yes I was very careful with entering correct symbols for i.d. and password. Also, navigating the site is such a mishmash that searches kept changing as I found myself in communities without any reference to backtrack how I got there.
Enough grousing.
I am fortunate to have a TD Curran store nearby. They are a licensed Apple Dealer and service center located in the NW of the U.S.A. They used my id and password, activated the program and tested it on their store phone.
The only thing I could determine that was different was the ISP. The store had a Comcast Commercial business contract- high speed.
My ISP is CLEAR WiMAX out of Portland, OR. When they were independent and just starting I signed on for a very reasonable monthly with the lowest speeds- they have served me well until this fiasco.
My speeds are download ~ 0.789 mbps and upload ~0.390 mbps.
This, I hope, helps at least one person.

You could theoretically upgrade to a 1TB HDD and brand really doesn't matter as long as it's a 2.5" SATA HDD. However I would probably shoot for a 500GB or 750GB. If you want some performance increase as well go for a 7200RPM drive, but just know that you will lose some of your battery life as well. If that's a trade-off you don't really care about then go for the 7200RPM drive.

There are 'only' two slots for RAM modules in the 13" MacBook Pros.
So you have to replace the RAMs that are curently in it.

I have no airport/wireless in vista or xp.

after too many calls to apple ...they are clueless
I keep finding threads that almost give a solution - but don't
wired works fine...wireless....no go
i need dual boot machine - + I need wireless on both sides (in hotels alot)

After you install Windows XP/Vista using Boot Camp, you need to remove the Windows CD after the Mac boots into Windows. Then you must insert the Mac OS X Leopard DVD that shipped with your Mac. It should autorun the Boot Camp Installation program. This will load all the Apple/Windows drivers for graphics, sound, network, wireless, etc. There is a direct download of drivers. Go to Apple Support, then Dowloads and search for Boot Camp 2.1 and download the program for your version of Windows installed. This will install all the latest drivers. Once that is done, you should have wireless networking.

Hi what can I do so that the app Store "see" all the app which are installed on my macbook
For example Pages, the latest version is installed but in the app store ... I could buy it once again... it is not written installed like for example for iphoto where it is stated installed in the AppStore.
Both softwares were installed long before that the App Store exists.....only one appears as installed why? do I will get troubles with upgrades?
I also have many apple ID as I live internationally... France USA and Switzerland.... I hope that it will not be the same problem as with the itunes stores..... which are very bad solved for customers like me... I am a "Earth" citizen.... It is crazy now with software.... to make "village" stores.... and a lot of troubles with that.... Recently Apple desactivated my IDs just for security... but I ask me which security??? I only buy legal...stuff! Apple can look in every mac... but was not able to see that I am an honest person.....

Personally I would advise you never to use the App Store. The App Store thinks I have the latest version of iWork, which I don't.
Apparently some users have unintentionally purchased software they didn't want, because of the way the App Store has been set up. As far as I know, I have not done this, but I'm not sure.....

I am having a problem with Windows Fusion installed on a MacBook.

I am having a problem with Windows Fusion installed on a MacBook OS 10. When attempting to use a Browser, (either IE, or Chrome), under Windows Fusion, I cannot browse to ANY page except Gmail.com.
I checked all security settings, and found no problem. Neither browser will allow me to do ANYTHING other than go to Gmail.com!!!
I am not sure if I have some virus on my Windows side, because Google and Safari both work perfectly on my Apple side, just not when running Windows Fusion.
Is there some setting I am missing, or do you think I have malware/virus issues?? My Internet connection is DEFINITELY working fine - I can send, receive, open, and close all my email on Gmail only, and can navigate freely on Gmail, but cannot get to any other site even hyperlinked to Gmail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you've already tried my previous suggestions, it may be that something has tampered with the DNS settings in your Windows VM, which might bypass the settings your Mac uses. 1. The scrolling, as far as I've been able to determine, is by using the slide bar to the right of most diplays. There are no up or down arrows that allow slow movement
2. The top and botton toolbars are not visible. The top one appears when you point the arrow to the top of the screen but the same doesn't work well if at all pointing the cursor to the bottom.
3. When downloading, something jumps to the upper right of the screen. I could point and click it and get a diplay if my downloads. I was attempting to fix some of the above. Now the little thing jumps off the screen and I can't get to it.

5. The red yellow and blue bullets that allow shutting down, minimizing and maximizing are missing on most open windows.

If I do a clean install on my MacBook Pro will I be able to re-install apps (FCP, Aperture, MS Office etc.) from a Time Machine backup, or will I need the original install DVDs with authorization codes?

The Apple Genius' were stumped by my laptop issues and said they'd never seen anything like it before and recommended I did a clean install. Below you can see my trash bin, and if you look at the "Empty" button it reads "N201" and then there's the "N39" to the left of it. You can also see these numbers over by the folder area--"SD5, SD6, SD7." But that's not all...
When I right click on items I see the numbers again. Instead of "Open with" I get "N152" and there's an "N35" and "LB1" towards the bottom.
I have no idea what's going on so I'm just going to do a clean install on my machine but I don't want to lose my apps. I don't have the original install DVDs for them anymore. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks!

You don't lose them. You can always redownload them from the app store after you log back in with your Apple ID.
