Just reference to any other users in the Uk having apple TV problems. There was a major problem with the Thompson router that made the router reboot time and time again, this messed up the IP address and i think this is where my ATV and home sharing had problems. After speaking to O2 tec support they informed me that a firmware update was available and they pushed it to me. I can report after receiving the update the problem has gone and have run perfectly for six days. I can confirm if you having problems like a lot of people are i am under the impression that the router you use plays a major part in the problem !!.

I was also having connection issues. If you have a Mac (not sure it is available for Windows)- download iStumbler and see what other routers are broadcasting. You may find that you are simply in a congested area and you are fighting with other wireless routers on the same channel. I ended up getting a new Airport Extreme to give me the dual band and thusfar, have not had any connection issues (and all my devices are wireless, not one hardwire to be found). Now I am a very happy ATV2 owner (of 2 and one day 3). Can't wait to see what they add (they as in Apple or the other guys).

Apple Mac with IE 5.2 problem

Hi All,
I have built a Flash movie at this location:

The site shows up fine under PC(IE, NN and FF), Mac Safari.
But when i type it into Mac IE, it just won't even load the page.

In my frustration , amongst lots of open web pages tutorials and other useless information , I come across innocent looking link and software to installed called Genieo , which suppose to help with any router .
Software ask for permission to install , and about 30 % in , my instinct was telling me , there is something not right . I stop installation . Delete everything , look for any
trace in Spotlight , Library . Nothing could be find .
Now , every time I open Safari , Firefox or Chrome , it will open in my home page , but when I start looking for something in steed of Google page , there is
''search.genieo.com'' page acting like a Google . I try again to get raid of this but I can not find solution .
With more research , again using genieo.com search eng. there is lots of articles and warnings . From that I learn do not use uninstall software , because doing this will install more things where it come from.
I do have AppleCare support but its to late to phone them , so maybe there some people with knowledge , how to get this of my computer

Genieo definitely doesn't help with your router. It's just adware, and has no benefit to you at all. They scammed you so that they could display their ads on your computer.

- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

My ipad 2 (ios 6.1.2) continuously drops wifi and every few minutes, i receive tha black scrren with the apple... Any ideas on resolving? It is VERY frustrating!   If it helps, wifi is connected to our secured home internet.

Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Try restarting your router as a first thing, this sometimes works for me.

Apple keyboard with numberpad problem

I have been using the usb keyboard (http://liss-mug.org.uk/sites/default/files/images/apple-qwerty_red_570.png) for my macbook pro for around 10-11 months and today keys 0 p P ; / are not working (but using the macbook pro keyboard is fine). I want to know how to fix the problem with the kyboard.

Some problems users have had with the wireless keyboards, and one had a USB keyboard, were resolved by unpairing/disconnecting. Then removing batteries in the wireless, and start pressing keys randomly, swiping the flat of the hand over the keyboard for several minutes. Then reconnect and the keyboards would usually work. Seems the capacitance switches that are now used instead of mechanical switches had to be discharged.
So, try that trick and see if it works. If not, there is probably a hardware fault in the keyboard.

I am now beside router - no problem, but go 20 metres and WiFi becomes unstable. Only way to get either to work is disable WiFi either as a Hot Spot or turn it off and use the 3G connection. This worked with 4.3 & 4.3.2 what has gone wrong? I raised it at the Apple Store in Belfast as a problem but was told that there was no problem with Apple but I must have a faulty router - yeah - that's a lot of faulty routers, my home, my office, my holiday home, Starbucks, my friends house, my son's house. I've tried all the 'fixes'. I think it is a plan to force us to buy Apple Routers

Two ways out, I added two more Belkin Access Points in my house in Spain so that I'm not more than 10Mtrs away, (Reinforced Concrete & solar glass 2010)
I bought 3 Apple Airports, 1 x Extreme and 2 x Express (1 as a hard wired AP, 1 as an extender) for my other house (Brick construction 1930's)
Everthing now works perfectly, as I said 'an apple plot', so either blast them with signal or visit your nearest apple store.
Early beta iOS5 (iPad) is also much inproved in Beta 3, I have not had any problem with 'Lion'

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

Having problems with air printer to i pad, problem seems to lie with talktalk router, hp solutions managed to get i mac to air printer working but not i pad, adivsed to buy another router as talktalk is not compatiable with bonjour. Went to PC world apple department advised to by airport express. tried setting it up using but will not finalise. i was led to believe this would replace the talktalk router? i feel i have been sold the wrong thing. This happened to me when I was setting up the wireless router for a friend. The issue is with the Westall modem. You need to go in and setup the "bridge" option on the westell modem. The link below gives directions or you can call bellsouth dsl support (this is how I learned about it).

Solution:
Method 1 - Hard Reset
Restore the modem to default settings by pressing the Reset button on the back of the modem and holding it for 3 seconds. (Bridged mode is the default setting for the Westell).
After the modem regains sync, it is in Bridged mode. Do not attempt to surf into the modem as surfing into the modem will enable the Easy Login page and convert the modem from bridged mode to a PPP mode.
Method 2 – Bridged Mode
Access the Westell interface using http://192.168.1.254 or http://launchmodem.
Click on the Broadband DSL Line button.
Click on the Protocols button
Select the radio button to the left of Option 2 (Bridge)
Click the save button. Once the modem has restarted it is in bridge mode.

I have two Iphones 5 with different email addresses sharing one Apple ID account.Both are using IOS 8.
I would like to set up a new Apple Id for one of the phones and remove it from the old account.
If I do that, can I move all of the purchased apps and songs to the new Apple account?
Also, will sharing one Apple ID account with two devices cause problems with using messaging and FaceTime?

Sharing an iCloud account between two devices can be done without causing issues with iMessage and FaceTime, just go into Settings for each of these functions and designate separate points of contact (i.e. phone number only, or phone number and unique email address). While that works, you'll then face the problem where a phone call to one iPhone will ring both if on the same Wi-Fi network -- but again, that can be avoided by changing each phone's settings.
Rather than do all that, don't fight it -- use separate IDs for iCloud. You can still use a common ID for iTunes purchases (the ID for purchases and iCloud do not have to be the same) or you can use Family Sharing to share purchases from a primary Apple account.
