APPLE TV won't load all content in library

Since the software update on Apple TV a few months ago, I have been having trouble accessing all contents in my itune library.
Apple TV will load partial of my movies, but not those in unknown Genre. I have tried to move movies from unknow Genre to known ones, but they won't show up on Apple TV. This is same with any new movies I added to my iTune Library. Have tried everything suggested on this board. Anyone else have similar issue? I

I bought an Apple TV on November and it worked just fine until a few weeks ago.
Now, everytime I try to stream something from my computer it takes a really long time to buffer and when it plays, its only played for seconds (well for music anyways, movies only play for 2 secs before freezing again)
Why does this happen? Nothing else has changed in my situation (internet speed is the same as it used to be when it WORKED)
I live in Panama so I have no Apple Store to take my apple tv to, so if there's nothing I can do it would really blow Apple, nice way of tricking people out of $99

It's the file attributes. The files will add but when you try to add a folder it doesn't work. You can get a bulk attribute changer progeam like BulkFileChanger and get rid of the Hidden and archive attributes, This fixed my problem.

IPhoto 7.13 won't load all pictures in library so I must FORCE QUIT

I have tried several times to load my iPhoto library and though it displays some of the photos it hangs when trying to load them all. The rainbow circle just spins and spins. This is rendering iPhoto unusable.
I tried to cut and pasted the error log but it said it was too long for message body.
Also, I noticed that in these later versions of you can't "open" iPhoto into a folder that allows you see the individual files - it's simply the iPhoto Library icon. Is there a way to "open" the library so that you can at least access individual picture files?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to repair permissions in the library.
If that fails then it's likely that you have a damaged library database file. Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

With iPhoto 7 (iLife 08) the old iPhoto Library Folder is now a Unix Style Package File. The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.

To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:

If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Apple TV won't load or play movies from my MBP library (through both airplay and homesharing), but will from my mac mini. Help!

I have been using my apple TV seamlessly with all my apple products (Mac Mini, iphone, MBP, ipad). Everything worked perfectly until recently (I noticed the issue about 3 weeks ago), when the apple TV won't load and play any movies from my iTunes library located on my MBP. The Library loads, and I can see everything, but as soon as I press play, the spinning load icon appears and doesn't stop. Same when I play movie from itunes directly and send it via airplay. Desktop mirroring no problem.
I have checked, and films are being played perfectly from my other devices, as does airplay and mirroring

8. Cannot access my library when my computer is asleep
For Apple TV to access your library while the host computer is asleep, "Wake for network access" must be turned on.
Open System Preferences > Energy Saver and select (enable) the "Wake for network access" option.
In addition, the network that the host computer and the Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) is connected to must support Wake on Demand feature. This works by partnering with a service running on your AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule called Bonjour Sleep Proxy.

Load all content at once

Is there a code to load all content at once? I know you can
do it because when you go to websites all in flash they have a
loading screen to start off with. I need one, but don't know how to
get/use one. I have a lot of big images that take a while to load.

My macbook pro won't load all the way when I start it up.

Lately, my mac book pro has been slow to use, and the colour wheel pops up often. I shut it down earlier today, and now when I try to start it up, it won't load all the way. When I do manage to get to the homescreen, the applications and toolbars won't load. Any ideas what the issue might be and how I can fix it?

It could be a number of issues, Fred.
Have you optimized your photos to no larger than 1000x750 pixels, per the FAQs to the right of this forum? Oversized photos are the chief reason for these types of failures.

You also say your videos are MP4s. Are these AVCHD video or are they from a "webbie" camcorder, such as the Flip cam? Flip video uses a proprietary codec that often jams up video editors. This is also covered in our FAQs.

Finally, have you ensured that the drive you are saving your video to has adequate free space and is freshly defragmented? You should always have at least 30 gigs of free space on your drive plus 30-50 more for each hour of video you're outputting.
And, if you are exporting to a drive other than your C drive, you should ensure that the drive is formatted NTFS rather than FAT32. FAT32 drives have a file size limit that often chokes video output.

I have over 500 pictures on my Photo Stream and it shows on my iPhone 4S and on iPhoto o my MacBook but on my Apple TV it only loads 10 pictures. What is going on?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device, it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

Apple TV won't load/play TV shows from my iTunes account

When I try to play TV shows and movies from my iTunes library, my Apple TV won't play them. It'll just continuously think about doing it, and on the time taskbar at the bottom it shows that it's slowly loading the video, but it won't physically play any of the content (and I've left it running for a good 15 - 20 minutes). I've tried playing different shows and episodes, and it's the same result. It will play songs from my library, however if I try to physically control what it plays through my laptop (by making the speakers Apple TV) the sound will cut out after eight or nine seconds of playing and refuse to play it after that point.
I've tried unplugging the Apple TV several times, restarting my iTunes, and nothing seems to be working. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? Or even what's causing it?

I'm having this same problem suddenly as of 2 or 3 days ago, around the same time as you. The spinny animation appear for a few second, with the scrubbar, then it bails out to "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later." My network has had no configuration changes in a while. My AppleTV2 and my MacBook Pro [10.7.2] have also not seen configuration changes in some time. Makes me wonder if ATV, or iTunes, has had an update that broke things.
I've played my iTunes movies over the network fine since I bought the AppleTV over a year ago. 720p, 1080p, etc., have all played fine. Now, those exact same movies are not playing. I've tried:
Changing Wi-Fi Channels.
Upgrading firmware in Airport Express. That's the WAP the MacBook is connected to. ATV is connected directly over wired Ethernet. It was a Minor Version behind, and did upgrade successfully.
Power-cycling everything. MBP, router/modem, Ethernet switches, ATV, and the external 1TB firewire drive my iTunes library is on.
Verifying that Internet-based movies play in ATV. They do. Netflix, etc., all play fine.
Plugging the MacBook Pro directly into wired Ethernet. Wi-fi completely out of the picture. I verified Internet and LAN connectivity was good, but still, ATV won't play anything.
Ensuring ATVs firmware and OS were latest.
Ensuring MacBook Pro's OS was latest.
Verifying that I can play those movies directly from the external drive, by way of Finder.

I tried just going to YouTube on the web browser, but it just crashes the browser, when I get home I will ask them too but mabe somebody here knows.
The app, when I click my user name and then select playlist, it doesn't even show half of them, and I know I don't have sharing restrictions on any of them.
It also won't load videos in searching that I know exist that I can find when searching at home.

I am also encountering similar problems. You Tube was working okay last week, the only thing that has changed since then is that I have created a new account on You Tube and have logged into it on my Apple TV.
All the other internet functions are working on my Apple TV, so I wondered whether there might be a problem at Apple's end?

Apple TV won't load complete Aperture library

I have a large Aperture library back to 2002. Apple TV 2 won't load the library further than 2008, despite it being checked all the way back to 2002 in Home Sharing. How do I get it to load the whole thing? Is there a limit? I am working with a MacBook, Snow Leopard, and Aperture 3. Thanks.

I couldn't say for sure if there is a limit to the size of a photo library, but there have been problems reported when using large libraries. How many photos do you have, mention has been made to problems with libraries of over 20,000.

Slow to load all contents of sites, fails to respond to 'back arrow', screen gets white haze, program locks up

Laptop has i5 processor, 4megs of DDR2 memory, windows 7 . Charter Communications internet signal 25 mbps. Firefox opens easily. Google search response is quick. Opening a site is another issue. Home pages initially open quickly, but Firefox lags in loading all the elements of page content and frequently will not respond to the "back" button" when navigating a site, especially on CBS sports Fantasy Football site. On these occasions, Firefox displays notation "Firefox can not locate site/file server" or "Firefox is not responding". When this occurs, a translucent white haze is displayed over the site graphic and Firefox locks up.s. Only option is to exit Firefox, frequently having to force the program to close.

If you have the same symptoms after restoring the hard disk to its original factory-new software and replacing the BIOS, that leaves only malfunctioning hardware as the culprit.
What you report is consistent with a failing hard drive. The disk keeps accessing over and over in attempt to successfully read or write. It appears slow as a result.
Click on Repair at the top of the page to locate a repair center.

ITunes won't load all the way...Help??

My iTunes store comes up, bar loads half way, no error message. It is only the white screen. I'm on Windows 7, and I have tried reinstalling it, restoring, repairing and uninstalling completely. I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help me? I can access my account, but I can't get anywhere else. The bar just stops loading. I've tried running diagnostics, but every time I do that, iTunes becomes non-responsive.

I've tryied installing iTunes 7 like 8 different ways and it won't install all the way each time it stops at "Resigtering modules"
by any chance, do you have SpyCatcher antispyware software installed on that PC? in quite a number of these "registering modules" hangs, modules installed by SpyCatcher have been interfering with the registration of the itunes modules.
if you do have SpyCatcher, try uninstalling SpyCatcher altogether prior to an itunes install. if the itunes install then goes through properly, you can reinstall SpyCatcher afterwards.

IPhoto won't load all my pictures during import?

Whenever I try to import photos from my iPhone onto my Macbook it initially loads all photos but the last one or two and gets stuck. I've been trying this for months, and it keeps happening.

you can select photos in the import window and import selected
with 30,000 to import I assume they are on disk somewhere so you can break them down into folders of a few thousand
where are the photos? what version of iPhoto do you have?

Newsstand Apple ID won't load.

Hi, I have an iPad using iOS 8.1.2. Im using Newsstand to view 'The Week UK' publication. However when I try to restore purchases the Apple ID doesn't load. The 'purchases restored' box comes up but I am still unable to access the publication. I contacted the publisher and they said it was a known Apple iOS problem that effects different publications at random. I have already tried un-install, reboot, re-install and retyping Apple ID in settings.

Is the iPod signed into the account? Go to Setting>Store and check and fix as necessary.
