Apple TV won't turn on, respond, or appear in iTunes after update-Help!

The update didn't fully finish, I believe, and eventually I think the Apple TV turned off.  Now it won't turn on on respond in any way.
I've tried plugging it into iTunes with micro USB, several times. Never shows up.  It doesn't light up at all no matter waht i do...  Whattt should I do?
Thanks!

Check that you have correctly followed the instructions for your model of Apple TV.
If not already, try using a powered USB port.
Repeat the process but this time try connecting the cable while iTunes is closed.
Repeat the process with another cable.
Try restoring the Apple TV on another computer in another location.

  • IPhone 3g won't turn on, and not recognized by iTunes after erase/reset

My iPhone G3 (with the latest 4.0.1 software) was acting up so I decided to do an erase/restore to see if it helped the problems.
I did a reset/erase everything through the phone OS now all I get is the Apple start screen, and the phone does not start up. When I plug connect it to my computer the iPhone is not recognized.
    Clueless!! Any help?

See if you can force the phone into recovery mode:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. Select restore as new, follow by syncing your itunes content.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable

So I have a brand new hp pavilion running on windows 8, but as the title states it won't turn on anymore. The problem started after I accidentally removed the battery when it was running. Now the only thing that lights up is the little orange light over the wifi button on the top of the keyboard but the rest does nothing. So if anyone has any solutions please send them to me.

  • HT4972 Why won't my iPhone 4 recognize my sim card after update?

Why won't my iPhone 4 recognize my sim card after update?
I updated my iPhone 4 over wifi and it went through the process fine, until it switched back on and now refusese to recognize my sim card!
    Any ideas?

Usually this means the phone was previously jailbroken or hacked to unlock it from the carrier it was locked to, and the update re-locked it to that carrier.

  • IPhone 6 plus stuck with apple logo, won't turn off!

I got my new iPhone 6 plus today. I set it up as a new phone I couldn't restore from backup as I needed iOS 8.1 to restore the backup of my 5s.
So after upgrading to 8.1 I reset my 6 plus to restore the backup and now its stuck on the apple logo.
I can't turn it off to get it into recovery mode, I've tried holding the home and power buttons, the device appears to restart, after a few minutes it flashes on a red screen for a split second then its back to the apple logo. I've restarted multiple times and same thing keeps happening.
iTunes won't recognise the device so I'm really at a loss to what I can do from here. Can't get into my local Apple genius bar until Wednesday and I'd really like it sorted before that.
Thanks for any help you guys can give.

    Hi there thatgurlwho,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below if your device isn't booting past the Apple Logo.

  • Apple TV won't turn off

Yesterday I did the latest update for Apple TV and know it won't turn off.

    CowboyDon wrote:
I am at a loss for why this was done. I have never accidentally turned off my Apple TV. I use mine a lot for playing music through my stereo. After selecting my playlist, I press play and turn the TV off. I do not turn the TV back on before trying to turn the unit off. With this new 'feature', I have taken to just hitting pause and pulling the plug. The unit generates too much heat to leave in standby.
it has been done as pressing and holding play/pause whilst playing media will bring up the playlist sub-menu.
pulling the plug all the time will most likely result in your appletv having a shorter life-span, and may even trash your HDD if it doing something at the time when you pull the plug.

  • Blinking Apple Icon - Won't Turn On

My iPhone 4 will not do anything except display a blinking apple screen.
When I connect it to the computer, iTunes does not even see it.  Please help!

    Hey aubiegal,
Thanks for the question. The following resources provide information about the symptom you are experiencing:
iOS: Device unexpectedly restarts, displays Apple logo, or powers off

Make sure your iOS device is up to date. If you still see this issue after updating, contact Apple Support.
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
    Resolution
    1. If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
    2. If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
    3. If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
    4. If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
              1. If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
              2. Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
              3. If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
              4. If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
    5. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
              1. Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
              2. If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
              3. If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
    6. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Apple TV won't turn off after 2.2 update

I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem after the new update.
After updating to the new 2.2 software......I am now unable to turn the device off. I used to just hold the center button down for 5-6 seconds and it would turn off. I didn't want to leave it on all the time since I only use it once or twice a week. But now.......doing the same thing has no effect on it at all. Is this happening to anyone else ? I know a lot of people just leave it on all the time, and I guess I could do that as well. Hahaha.......... seems I don't have any choice now. Is this a new feature that comes with the 2.2 software ?

Because of Genius and another feature, the ability to put the AppleTV into standby has changed. Either you can go to the main menu and press Play/Pause for 6 seconds (like you used to, but only works from main menu), or you can go into Settings where there is a new StandBy option that can be selected.

  • IPod nano won't turn on or be recognized in iTunes or Vista

We recently upgraded to Windows Vista, so I downloaded iTunes 7.2, then plugged in my ipod which was working fine, then it said it had to be updated, but first I needed to update something in windows vista. So I updated Vista and also looked in the help section for ipod and read this:
Microsoft has released an update for Windows Vista that addresses a situation where ejecting iPod from Windows Explorer or by using the "Safely Remove Hardware" feature in Windows Vista could corrupt your iPod. Apple recommends Windows Vista customers who own an iPod install this software update. For information on how to install this Microsoft hot fix, refer to the "Update your software" section below. Tip: iPod can always be ejected safely by choosing Eject iPod from the Controls menu within iTunes.
So, I thought that my ipod would get ruined so I did the "eject ipod" from the control menu in itunes, and after that my ipod never turned on again. What happened, did I do something wrong?
I did the 5 R's already and it does not turn on. It is not even in my computer (device manager) and its not even being recognized in itunes. It just disappeared and it won't turn on. Please help!!!
    Thanks in advance.
    Dell   Windows Vista

I'm having a similar problem with my Ipod (40GB, now discontinued) here's my problem:
My hard drive would spin up and then down and then up and then it would turn off. Also I would turn it on and flip to a song, it would be OK and then if I went to flip to another one the screen would freeze on me for a few seconds, then it would work then continue doing that until I got it to turn off. It did that for a few days and then the other day I turned it on and it wouldn't take me to my music screen and it came up with an Ipod that was dead and a link under it. It did this for a while and now I can't get it to work either, I turn it on now and it comes up with a folder and the apple support website and when I tired restarting it, the screen would come up with a check mark and say "Disk Mode" at the top and "OK to disconnect" below the check mark, and now Itunes doesn't recognize it and the hard drive spins and it goes on acting like iTunes sees it when in truth it doesn't.
    Hope someone can help!

  • Iphone 4 won't turn on keeps saying plug into itunes when it's on itunes

Phone randomly shut off and won't turn back on. I keep plugging it into itunes to restore it and it tells me an unknown error occurred

I could see this happening if your battery is not charged enough for your iPhone to turn on. I would suggest letting your phone charge for several hours without usage. If the problem still persists, you should try restarting your phone or hard powering down (holding down power button and home button for several seconds simultaneously). If your phone still won't turn on properly after this, the next step would be to reset your settings or restore to default factory mode, keep in mind this will wipe ALL of your data, and you may need to reactivate your phone with your service provider. The final step, should all else fail, would be to bring your device into an Apple store to have it checked and repaired for you. My best guess would be a faulty battery, or possibly a virus installed on your phone. I hope you can get this issue solved on your own quickly, however, should it come to it, Apples repair section has a great reputation.
    Best of luck!
