Apple TV1 has Greyed Out items in Movies programme tab

I have two first generation Apple TV's on the same iTunes account and Wifi Network.
Some of the items in the Movies tab are shown Greyed out even though they are selected (box ticked) they are therefore present on the Apple TV.  However these items cannot be De-selected (to remove them from) Apple TV to allow alternative selection to be made.
The items are all selected in the Movies List in iTunes.  There does not appear to be any link with the original source (either purchased from App store or captured from EyeTV) items of both types appear affected.
Any suggestions how this can be solved?

I finnally figured this out.
The greyed out items are selected by the initial selection:
In Movies tab this is as follows:
☑ Automatically include  〖  5 most recent  ⇕  〗  movies along with selected movies.
Similar range selections have the same effect with the other media tabs:  TV Shows, Podcasts, iTunes U and Photos.
The only way these selections are added or removed is with this range selection.
I couldn't find this documented anywhere, unless  someone else can provide a link.

Cannot change Apple ID password as Apple ID is greyed out. how do I fix this

Hi Winston, this has not solved my problem (yes I'm having the same problem). I just did a factory reset on the Apple TV and was then finally able to play purchased movies after singing back into my Apple ID, but now the Apple ID is greyed out and won't let me sign out to put anyone else's Apple ID or to sign out in general. Most up to date firmware and everything...

  • After installing mavericks apple id is greyed out in app store when trying to update iPhoto

after installing mavericks apple id is greyed out in app store when trying to update iPhoto. How to update iphoto?

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
    File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
    Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
    Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
    Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

wi-fi button on 4S has greyed out and cant turn on wi-fi , any suggestions please ?

First try a simple reset by holding down the home and power button for 15 to 30 seconds until you see the silver apple, then let the device start normally. If issues still persist, you will need to restore and update the iPhone from iTunes on your pc or mac. If after the restore still grey your device may need service or replacement.

  • My ipad2 safari is not responding and has greyed out

safari on my ipad2 is not responding and has greyed out... is there a way i can sort it out ?

If you follow Bob's instructions.. allow it to cool down.. maybe leave it off overnight.. if the disk fails to start when you power on.. or listen carefully and hear if the disk is failing to spin up properly then you have either dead drive or dead supply.
Is it in warranty or applecare, let apple replace it?
If it is out of applecare even, open it and replace the disk.
How old is the TC? What model from the rubber mat A1xxx? What size disk?
Certain drives are becoming unreliable.. The WD black in Gen2, The Samsung Spinpoint in Gen3 and WD green in Gen3 and Gen4 are none of them great drives.
Out of warranty do the job yourself.. there is plenty of stuff about drive upgrades for the TC.
    Excellent instructions here.

  • My iphone 4S 6.1.3 WI-FI has greyed out?

Played on the phone to find the wi-fi wasnt connected so i [did what most normal people would do] turned the phone off and on again. Saw it has greyed out so googled it. Came across the Apple advice thingy which said i should back it up and restore it. so i did.
It worked for about 10mins then it went again. And now its greyed out. Had the phone for about 1 year 4months.. from new!  Now everyone is saying i should go to my nearest apple store so they can charge me loads of money to fix a phone which SHOULDNT have this problem!
Is there no other way to fix it?
    PS. Bluetooth still works great?!?

i restored it but instead of installing the backed up stuff straight away. i did it manually and it seems to be working now. Only problem is adding alll the contact singlely again.
    Hope that makes sense.
    hope it helps other people!
    PEACE OUT.
