Apple TV3 and the New iPad - I WANT to stream the sound only

Hey guys!
I've got the new iPad and apple tv 3 which is great together!
I have a receiver (which is located in the living room) with Zone2 option and also have outdoor speakers which are connected to that Zone2.
When I sit outside i want to use my great speaker system and use the outdoor speakers using AirPlay and ATV and stream the content to my ATV but the thing is that when i do that I lose my video on the device and the tv shows my video feed.
That of course is a problem coz I enjoy my great speakers but can't watch the video (like YouTube video or something else)...
Is there a way to stream the sound only to the ATV?
I found discussions of people who don't manage to stream their video to the ATV and only managed to stream their sound but that was an error and things like firmware update solved their problem...
Found no discussions of people who TRY to stream only the sound, like I want to...
Does anyone have an idea that can solve my problem?

It's actually very easy and doesn't even require splitting the video stream and extracting the audio track from it (which is pretty easy if you have a desktop computer).
If you don't want to play back protected content (non-music videos purchased from iTunes Store), all you need to do is getting GoodPlayer, letting it play audio in background (Settings > Background Audio) and connect to your ATV in non-AirPlay mirroring mode. It'll happily play back the audio track of the video while you can do anything in the foreground. (Note that, in addition to GoodPlayer, other background audio-playback players may also work - it's just that I've tested GoodPlayer in this regard between my ATV3 and iPad 3. Let me know if you need more - for example, a list - info on them.)

for the purchased items from the iTunes Store, you could use transfer of purchases
for the photos, other music/movie not from itunes, you'll be needing a third party application
for contacts, calendars , photos from camera roll : you could just directly transfer it from your phone to the computer.

How do I tell the difference between iPad 2 and the New iPad because they both look the same?

The box says iPad. How do I tell that I bought iPad or the new iPad? There is no way to tell the cpu is the new one or the camera is better when this is my first apple product.I have nothing to compare with.

I have the new ipad. I am in the process of trasferring movies that were not purchased thru itunes from my PC to the ipad. My GB ipad allotment is almost used up. How do I get the remaining movies into the cloud or does it only take itunes videos?

iCloud cannot help you - it's not a storage device, but primarily a syncing and backup service. You have to decide which videos to put on your ipad as you cannot add more memory to it.

I have an INVISION smart case for my iPad 2 that I have transferred over to my New iPad and it doesn't turn off the screen (it doesn't turn it on if is already off either) I was really pleased with it on the iPad 2 as it worked flawlessly
As its not the official iPad smart cover I guess it isn't supported
I chose this cover as it also covers the back of the iPad too. I guess I'll have to wait for a new design, so what the seller said is probably correct

Does the new ipad have a camera in the front so you can facetime?

I am looking to buy the NEW iPad. I am wondering if it has a camera in the front of the iPad so that I can facetime. I see it has one in the back, but it doesnt say anything about the front.

Yes, both the iPad 2 and the new iPad have front and back facing cameras and they have the FaceTime app (unless you buy from UAE or Saudi Arabia where there FaceTime is no FaceTime app).

Doubts with the renditions for the new ipad and ipad 1 and 2.

I will start doing a layout for a publication with two renditions (for Ipad1 and 2, and for the new ipad).
I have read the document

It recommended creating an Indesign document of 1024x768 pixels and working with images in high and low resolution in different layers to then pass them to Folio builder for renditions of 2048 with high ones and 1024 with the low ones.
I just worry about making two versions of the named "pass-through overlays"? (video, image sequence, panorama and pan / zoom).
And what about the slideshows? This content is resampled although you use the PDF image format.
If I'm working on a document of 1024x768, and the states of object include text, will be pixelated when fit to the 2048 size in the rendition?
I would greatly appreciate a response as soon as possible. I do not have one of the new iPads and am afraid I will not be able to see the result.

What is your worry about making two versions of the pass-through overlays? As long as you put each version (SD and HD) on a separate layer, and then turn the layer off/on appropriately when adding the InDesign document to the appropriate SD or HD folio you'll be fine.
Similarly, with the resampled overlays, you can if you choose make two versions of the overlay on separate layers, one for SD and one for HD, to ensure the resolution image you want is used for each version. In practice you only really have to do this if you have text in the image somewhere. For straight image content without text you can, generally speaking, put the high-res asset in and let InDesign resample it down to SD for you when adding the InDesign file to the SD folio.

Actually, iPad Air is the new iPad. But here's the solution to your problem:
Settings > General > Keyboard > Split Keyboard (turn off)

Problem syncing Safari Bookmarks onto the New Ipad

I need help syncing Safari bookmarks via Macbook(not icloud compatible) onto the New Ipad.

You need to connect the ipad to the computer then make sure safari is set to sync in itunes and complete a sync, it will sync that way.
You can go thru anything else you want to sync also and set that before you actualy sync. If your gonna sync then only do it once.

My smart cover is not working with the new iPad

The smart cover for my iPad 2 won't work with the new iPad. I have verified the toggle is enabled in settings. Does anyone have a solution or is experiencing the same issue? Thanks :)

When the original iPad came out ATT did offer unlimited data for $30/month. Unfortunately the offer didn't last more than a few months if I recall.
