Apple USB Modem driver for Windows 7?

I installed Windows 7 on the boot camp partition. After running Boot Camp software update 3.2, all the windows drivers loaded except for the Apple USB modem.  Does boot camp v3.2 support the Apple USB modem in windows 7?

You can find the drivers in the following location.
Disc: Mac OS X Install DVD (The one used for installing Bootcamp)
Folder: \Boot Camp\Drivers
Exe: MotorolaSetup.exe
Modem: Motorola SM56 USB Data Fax Modem
Also, you may need to change the compatibility to "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" so it will install properly.
Hope this will help.

  • USB-485 driver for Windows 7

Does there exist on the NI website a device-secific Windows 7 driver for the USB-485? I know I can download and install NI-Serial package (all 517 Mb of it) and get the driver for this thing, plus the drivers and libraries and help files tons of other stuff for dozens more devices that I'll never use, but I don't want to do that. I just want the Windows USB driver for this single device. Is it available?

That may be true but it would effectively eliminate the NI product from contention when someone was just looking for a simple 485 COM interface without any of the other extensive software baggage that the NI part drags in. In this case I guess something like the FTDI part with its 2Mb driver will be a more reasonable choice.  I appreciate NI having hardware that supports their software and vice versa but I would think they'd also want their hardware to be usable (where conveniently possible) in generic software environments as well, just so they were not walking away from that market segment.

  • Creating Recovery Media using USB Flash Drive for Windows 8.1

I followed all the instructions to create a USB Flash Drive Recovery Media (insert 16 GB USB Flash Drive or >) and it said it will be created now (after I clicked on Create), however the next screen said to insert > 7.5 GB flash drive, then it said it was cancelled.  I was attempting to use a San Disk Flash Drive and I am wondering if it is because it has some time of application on it.  I was under the understanding that it would just "delete/erase" this (format it) and then create it, but it wouldn't.  Any suggestions?

In Windows 8, one can create a "recovery drive" (called a System Repair Disc in Windows 7) that does not contain the recovery partition. (When you install Windows 8 yourself, there is no recovery partition.) It contains just the recovery environment.

Not sure what Shirley did, because it shouldn't take even that much space.

  • USB 100m driver for Windows 7

I am running Windows 7 Pro x64 bit, and I was unable to get a driver from Cisco's website that worked. Windows was unable to find the driver as well. As of now, I am unable to use the USB 100M Etherfast Network Adapter. Is there a workaround or a driver download I don't know about, or is the device simply incompatible with Win 7? What if I were to get the driver working on an XP computer, and then transfer the driver over to my Win 7 comp? Could that work?
    Solved!

The Link above to the Realtek driver (Vista Version) is confirmed to work in Windows 8... entering this post using that connection Yay!!! Love this little thing!

  • Apple USB Modem - Dial Up

Hello hello. I'm new to boot camp as well as mac. Anyway, I'm trying to make my windows run on Dial Up, but when I connect my Apple USB Modem, it detects it, but it doesn't install it, saying I should go online and check (not that I can since dial up is my only source of internet...). I set up my dial up connection, hoping it would work, but when trying to launch it, it shows me the properties saying something involving the modem in COM1 not existing. Any ideas?

    Danny:
I did some research and I ran into the FAQ below and it appears that Apple does not provide a USB Modem driver for Windows. We really need to hear from someone who has actually found the driver and is using this modem with Windows.

  • Apple USB Modem no good in UK?

I have just bought two Apple USB Modems, one for my occasional travel use, and one for a friend to use in a country cottage for email send.
Neither of them detect a carrier on a solid BT line in London UK. They can't both be faulty, am I doing something really dim. Settings in Network seem in order.
Checked both Modems on iMac C2D, Macbook CD and C2D same result on all.
Phone line and cabling healthy, double checked with handset at modem plug sounding healthy and loud.
    Any thoughts?

    Oh dear oh dear.
How can two - 2! BT431a to RJ11 cables work perfectly with a telephone, but not the Modem?
A third very nasty looking cable from the bottom of the drawer is working perfectly and both modems are now going fine, and rather well for dial up.
Very sorry all, too hasty to post. Am writing a hundred lines "Always check the very obvious".

  • I am confused by the installation step that requires you to create a bootable USB drive for windows installation.  What is the ISO image and why has it selected my Passport backup drive as the destination disc?

In the bootcamp installation it asks me to create a bootable USB drive for Windows Installation.  To do so, I must choose an ISO image.  What is that?  When I click "choose" I don't understand the options presented.  Is this the destination of the partition or where Windows will reside on the Mac?  Why does it also indicate the the destination disk si my WD Passport Back up drive?

OK, so I have an apple superdrive hooked up to my mini (along with my Passport back up drive).  I also have  the discs for both 64bit and 32bit Windows along with the product key.  I am still not sure what to do when faced with the options after "choose".
