Apple USB wall charger

I have a Apple USB wall charger that says: Input 100-240v. Does that mean I can put this charger in in wall plug that is 230v and charge my iPod without having to worry about converting the voltage.

Yes, but you will need an adapter for the plug as the plug for 230V is different than the one for 117V.

  • Can I charge my ipod classic in Germany with the same usb wall charger I use in the USA, by plugging it directly into the correct adapter plug? Or do I need a power converter/transformer?

I will be in Germany for a year. I want to take my ipod classic and charge it with a usb wall charger, like I do here in the USA. Can I simply use the correct wall adapter plug for Germany, or must I use a power converter/transformer in between?

It should work as long as the prongs adapter are adapted to the outlet configuration.

  • USB wall charging for ipod

Apple wall charger is too much costly so if u have an existing USB wall charger for ur camera or ur phone, use it to charge ur ipod.
Make sure that the output ampere rating is min 1A.
But if u have to buy one buy other makes like Phillips only for $7.
I am using my Kodak camera charger with the OEM usb dock connector......no problrm at all.
    Save & donate for charity.

    - While charging try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if still problem restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
    - However, I really think that the iPod has a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.  If defective Apple should give you a refurbished iPod.

  • Apple USB power Charger

    Hi all,
Is the Apple USB power Charger only compatible with USA wall plugs? Does it come with a thing to plug it into UK wall plugs? Would I need to buy anything seperately?

It is a universal power supply
it does not come with the UK adapter (which you can buy in most electronics stores)
there is a travel kit, but if you only need the UK adapter, that would be a bit of overkill (IMHO)

  • HT1665 USB Wall charger

Please advise, if a USB wall charger itself should be certified by "Made for iPhone"?
Is there any compatibility issue in case of use any USB wall charger (output: 5V / 1A), by an "iPhone" original cable (USB to lightning connector)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Shmulik

    Thankd Allan,
The question is if Apple also mark / certify a stand alone USB wall charger (without the cable)
with "Made for iPhone" as with other accessories?
    Thanks in advance,
    Shmulik.

  • IP4 Charging..USB to PC (MAC) vs USB Wall Charger??

Could there be a difference in the way the battery is recharged when charging the IP4 using a USB cable connected to a USB dock, which is connected to a Mac Mini vs charging the phone using the USB wall charger?
Couple days ago my IP4 battery drained normally, indicator went red since it was less that 20% capacity, so I plugged it into a USB cable that I had been using to charge my IP 3G. That cable goes to a USB dock connected to my Mini, my 3G always seemed to charge fine using same calbe...seems the IP4 charged ok as well...though it did seem to take longer for a full charge. I briefly used the phone that evening. When I went to bed, battery was at about 90% charged, almost full charge. Next morning, it was down below 20%. Charged it again next day using USB wall charger, used the phone more last night, but phone was close to 90% available this morning.
I don't believe the previous evening I ran any wacky app or process that could have been running overnight, I checked that first, same few apps I normally used showed.
So, does how the IP4 get charged, USB to PC vs USB to wall outlet make a difference in how the battery charges?

it will take longer to charge on a computer because there is less power going to the phone thats just the way it works
however no matter where you charge it and how long it takes to charge its not going to deplete quicker based on one source or another there must have been something that drained your battery

What specifications are required on an USB wall charger for it to work with the MIcrophoto Will the cell phone USB chargers do the job? Thanks!

Is it a problem with the charger or the phone?
Try a different charger. If the problem persists, it's the phone. This is not the typical iPhone experience and I hope you will have a good one when the issue gets resolved

  • Nexxtech USB Wall Charger compatible with Zen Vision

I was wondering if the?Nexxtech USB Wall Charger (http://http://www.circuitcity.com/ss...oductDetail.do) would work with the Zen Vision M. I'm going on a trip this week and need a cheap wall charger (less than $20)?that I can go to the store and get it (no online orders). Thanks,

hey thanks for the fast reply!
that sounds good. one more qs:
is there a cable available that allows to sync & charge directly from player to usb without using the little dongle attachment thingy. I find it ridiculous that Creative went with a propriety connection! I don't fancy lugging that around everywhere...

  • Can I use a regular USB wall charger to charge my Sixaxis controller?

Hi. I have a Sixaxis controller and I'm wondering if I could charge it using a USB wall charger like the ones that come with smartphones. I want to charge my controller but I have the PS3 plugged into an extension cable with my TV, set-top box and DVD player. In order to charge my controller atm I have to have all those things turned on and it's expensive and somewhat dangerous. So, can I use my phone's USB wall charger to charge my Sixaxis controller?  Thanks.

Thanks. I just didn't want it to explode or something.

  • Ipod touch 3g won't charge through usb wall charger

all of a sudden, my ipod touch won't charge through the wall charger i have that i always use, but i can charge from my laptop usb port, does anyone know why, cause the wall charger is broken and im getting a new one, and it doesn't work, do i need to send it to apple to get it fix?

The ipod touch 3rd gen has to have a specific type of wall charger to work, go to http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/usb-gadgets/b43f/ this little device will fix your problem right up! it costs less than a new wall charger too!

  • Creative Zen 16GB with iPod USB wall charg

I have a wall charger my wife uses for her iPod. Can I use this to charge my Creative Zen 6GB, or will it burn it out?

It shouldn't burn it out unless there is some sort of major diviation in wiring?from the USB standard. I couldn't imagine Creative or Apple doing such a foolish thing. Best thing to probably do is to give it a try. It should either charge or not charge. All USB should be nominally 5V @400-500 mAh, the AC adapters often deli'ver higher current to enable faster charging. More current won't hurt, the player will only use what it needs.

  • Why won't a apple usb cable charge my ipad?

So I left town for work and forgot my ipad charger. I've tried a generic once for ipods that didn't work and I also tried an offical apple usb cable direct to the computer and that didn't work. Anyone have any suggestions on why those don't work other than buying an ipad specific one?

The USB ports on most computers are too low power-out to charge the ipads with them powered up. They will slowly charge the ipad with the ipad sleeping.
It will say "not charging" when awake, but it may very slowly charge.
The ipad supplied charger is 10 watts (5 Volts at 2 amps)
The iphone/ipod chargers are typically 5 watts (5 volts at 1 amp)
The typical computer's usb port is 2.5 watts (5 volts at 0.5 amps)
Note: Some of the newer mac's have a higher powered usb port and will give a good charge indication on the ipad.
    Hope this helps...

  • USB WALL CHARGER FOR FUZE AND CLIP

What kind of wall charger do I need to charge my Fuze and Clip?  I think I read it was a 5 volt charger.  I found one on Amazon, but was unable to post the link for some reason, and it didn't state the voltage. It was just a wall wart with a USB cable (actually don't need the cable)  Can someone help me out please...don't want to fry my mp3 players!  If possible, please post a link to the one I need.  Thanks.

The chargers are multi-voltage capable. You will simply need a plug adapter for the outlets in India.

  • Is the Classic compatible with Apple A1070 wall charger?

My three-year-old 20gig iPod became unreliable so the other day I went out and bought a 80 gig Classic. But right away I ran into an issue. I have a three-year-old Apple wall charger -- it is the Model A1070. The output is marked 13 volts and 0.62 amps. I have searched high and low and cannot find anything in the Apple documentation to tell me whether I can use this old charger with the iPod Classic. The wall charger being sold now on the Apple website LOOKS the same (it is model MB051LL/A). Also, the A1070 cable snaps into the 30-pin dock connector hole on the Classic just fine (I tried it without plugging in to the wall outlet) -- but I don't know if Apple still has the pins set up the same inside. Also, somewhere I think I saw specs for the Classic that said it wants 12 volts at 1 amp. Can anybody tell me for sure whether it is safe to use the old Model A1070 charger?

My concern is that the new iPod Classic is stamped next to the port "Rated 5-30 v -- 1 A max." But the three-year-old Apple Model A1070 wall charger is marked "output 13 volts == 0.62 amps." I wish I could find out for sure if it is safe to plug the Classic into this charger with its apparently higher volatate.
The new charger does have a different output. The one I got with my video cable is 5v 1A but since the iPod has a variable power rating of 5 - 30v your older 13v charger is within acceptable limits.
