Apple Watch Bracelets

Hey, I have a really big doubt about the bracelets on the Apple Watch. If I buy the Apple Watch Sport could I buy a milanese loop bracelets as an add-on and use it, or the Apple Watch Sport is only compatible with the normal bracelet that it comes with?

The Apple Watch site says that all watches of the same size will be compatible with bands for the same size face as there are two bands that only come in certain sizes. But as was suggested, it might be best to ask either at an Apple Store or call them directly. I would guess that it should work - but as I ordered the Stainless Steel watch, I did not think to ask during my try-on visit.

  • Will I be able to make the Apple Watch Link bracelet longer to fit my wrist size?

I am getting the Apple Watch Space Black Link Bracelet, but I found out that the bracelet is too short for my wrist. Will I be able to add more links to the bracelet to make it bigger so that it could fit my wrist?

As Wegras, said on April 24th you won't be able to. Apple is not even allowing in-store pickup for either the Watch or the new Macbook Retina because they don't want those lines.
I have read that at some point in the future you will be able to walk in and purchase, but only G-d (AKA Apple) knows when. The guesses are sometime after the supply chain (which already put delivery dates on most watch/band combos into June) is more settled.

  • Can you sync the apple watch to more than one phone?

Say I wanted to leave my phone at home.  Could I sync my apple watch to my husbands phone but still get my texts etc???

If you're within about 20-30 feet, sync will be via Bluetooth. If the phone is on a wifi network, you can be farther away: exactly how far varies according to the quality of wifi, walls etc.

  • My "regular guy" impressions of using the Apple Watch for a few days

I was asked by friends to give my impressions of owning an Apple Watch. I guess it all comes down to:
Is the Apple watch worth about a dollar a day for the first year, and free thereafter?
I guess that depends on how much value you put on being able to leave your phone on silent, remaining in your pocket most of the day.
Because of the Taptic notifications, which are distinct "taps" on the wrist by the Watch for different things, I no longer have to keep my phone volume on all day (iPhone vibrations weren't strong enough in my pocket to notify me reliably) leading to a much nicer all day experience. On top of that, when I do get a notification, I can quickly flick my wrist to see what it is instead of digging my phone out. Much nicer to quickly glance at the latest 20% off offer from "YouNeedThis!.com" and dismiss it than dig the phone out, unlock it, click on mail, ...grumble.
The ease of notifications alone makes it worth it to me. It is easy to quickly respond most of the time, too. I find myself using my phone WAY less, which is refreshing (and I am sure appreciated by those around me.)
And the chirps, pings, whistles that used to emanate from my pocket all day are gone. Ahhhhh.
A few other things I have found convenient:
Actually knowing the time, date, weather etc. easily.  Sure, I could have been wearing a wrist watch for some of that, but for the last few years I have used my Smartphone for these things. They are just so much simpler on the wrist.
Answering the phone easily when doing something.  I am not one to wear a Bluetooth headset around like a Borg, so being able to easily answer when my wife calls as I am fixing lunch for the kid is really convenient.
Having the next thing on my daily calendar right there visible when I look at the Watch. I use the Mickey Mouse watch face normally (hey, I have an 18 month old daughter who loves pushing and seeing Mickey "dancing") and right there on the bottom it tells me the next thing on the list. I don't know how other folks do things on their phones, but I always had trouble sifting through notifications on the phone seeing what was on the agenda for the day. Yeah I could go to the calendar several times during the day on the phone, but it wasn't convenient. It is simple on the Watch seeing what is coming up during the week. And I say "week" because the Watch only shows you what is coming up in the NEAR future. To me that makes sense. Again, it is all about quick information and what works best in a glance. On the Watch it makes sense to quickly see what is coming soon. On the phone it makes sense to meander over months and make full edits in a more convenient manner.
Setting quick timers, reminders or alarms is a breeze using Siri on the Watch.  So much more convenient than digging out the phone.
Getting a quick overview on the Watch on how active I have been (or not been) has already spurred me to get up and move more often. Yes there are other devices that help with this (I had a Fitbit previously) but having it all self contained within the Watch is nice and (here I go again) convenient.
A few things that are not perfect on the watch:
The speaker is pretty quiet when trying to have a hands free "Dick Tracy" conversation. Any kind of louder noise in the room and you will have trouble.
Apple is synonymous with consistency. Their entire platform is built on making a consistent experience for everyone that just works.  On the Watch, however, there are some inconsistent uses of actions to do certain things. For example, sometimes when I get a notification and I want to dismiss it off the watch I can "Force press" which brings up a "Clear All" button to tap. Other times I have to scroll to the bottom of the notification to "dismiss." I like the "Force press" thing... let's make it happen consistently.
Most apps now are really pretty useless on the watch.  For one thing, the screen times out too quickly for them. For another, anything in which one needs more than a glance to get the information is MUCH easier to do on the phone. Of all the apps in the Watch App store, the only things I have downloaded and find I actually use are a quick note dictation app, a "what is nearby me" type app, and a sports scores app. That being said, I am perfectly OK with that because that is really not what the Watch is for in my opinion. We aren't SUPPOSED to be doing things on the Watch that are more easily done on the phone. Things that are designed to be quick (check time, check weather, check who just sent a message) are great on the Watch. Things like searching for the best item on Amazon are just ridiculously silly on the Watch (really, Amazon?)
Conspicuously missing from the core apps on the Watch is Apple's "Notes" app. A perfect use for the Watch is to quickly take a note of something you need to remember later. I was forced to download a 3rd party app, Evernote, for this. The Evernote app works well, but I am very surprised that this was missed by Apple as a perfect example of what would be helpful to use the Watch to do.
There is no way to set the "screen on" time to a custom time period. Six seconds or so is default and unchangeable. This makes the Watch worthless for anyone in a health profession. Nurses and EMTs still take pulses using their watch to time the heart rate. Often, with irregular heart rates, a full 60 seconds must be observed. One just can't do this with the Watch. This is quite surprising as the Watch has actually been marketed to health workers with apps even designed solely to assist health workers in their daily planning. Apple clearly wanted to be able to control battery life with such a quick screen off "feature" but allowing us to decide for ourselves the tradeoff of battery life vs. usability would be a much better choice.
There are ways to make Tweets, Facebook status updates and the like on the Watch, but it really doesn't make sense to try to do it "all" socially on the Watch.  It is so much easier on the phone to actually interact socially, that it really only makes sense to do so on the Watch in more of a "one off" way. When you just have to share something quickly, but don't really have time for give and take.
Finally, some things work a bit slow or wonky right now. I expect this to improve greatly over time with future versions of the software. Stuff like this ALWAYS gets better.
So for me, the Watch is working as I expect it should. There are certainly improvements that Apple can and will be able to make, but it is saving me time, adding ease of use to many actions I do every day, and is kind of fun to use. I am enjoying it because I am not expecting it to do things for which ANY wearable would not be well suited. The things it is best for, it does pretty well.
That is worth a dollar a day... to me at least.

To put the iPod into forced disk mode, this is what you should be doing.
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
    Have you also seen this?
iPod shows only an Apple logo and doesn't start up.

  • Calendar App on Apple Watch

    Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening fellow Appleites,
Received my Apple Watch on April 24th via UPS  and have been like a kid on christmas morning since! It really is spectacular. Some glitches, certainly, but thats to be expected from any new product release.  Something else to be expected is that not everything will be included in the first release ... As people say what they want, Apple will no doubt incorporate these wishes into future versions of the OS - we all know that, so if some features are missing from 1.0 ... big deal! Having said that ... I have a quick question I am hoping the collective Apple Watch Community can help answer.
On the Calendar Watch App, it appears I can only view the current month ... not future or prior months? I feel like being able to scroll through months is something fairly basic and would be included in a 1.0 iteration ... so I am thinking user error. But i've tried a couple searches on various sites with no luck in finding out how to swipe to future/previous months and am hoping "you" can help me. I thank you in advance for your help!
    Happy Time Telling!

I believe it's not possible. It's already 1st of May here in Sydney and I cannot get back to 30th April.
Interestingly I did not notice in the last two days that I couldn't get into May. Maybe I couldn't see May in the monthly calendar but I could at least scroll into May in the day view.

  • Buying Apple Watch in US later in the year for Australian use

Later in the year I am thinking about purchasing an Apple Watch in the US while on my holiday over there. I am wondering, if I bought an Apple Watch there.. Will it work/pair with my Australian phone.

As far as anyone knows (and no one here has an Apple watch yet), yes.

  • How do I get rid of the Apple Watch ad that's just appeared as an app icon on my iPhone 6 Plus?

Ad for Apple Watch has just appeared on my iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 8.3)--how do I get rid of it? Holding the button down to get jiggly app icons doesn't help--it doesn't have a Delete "x"; neither does it appear as an app in settings. I'm a bit unhappy about this appearing unbidden, out of the blue. If I want ads/demos, I'll download them. No call for pushing them onto my phone.

If I want ads/demos, I'll download them. No call for pushing them onto my phone.
It's not an ad/demo.  It's the app needed to use the Apple Watch with your iphone.  Like all apps that are part of the iOS, it can't be deleted.

  • How do I get rid of the apple watch app that appeared on my phone when I updated my software?

The apple watch app is now on my phone and I'd like to remove it. I don't intend to get an apple watch and don't want the app

You cannot remove this app. It is a core app like the Clock, Health, Weather, etc.
You can move it to the last Home screen or put it in a folder so you don't have to deal with it.
    Cheers,

  • Can I remove the apple watch app from my iphone?

With all the apps that Apple requires to be downloaded, it leaves little room for the apps I want or pictures or music.  Is there a way to delete this app or other apps I don't want/use that Apple puts on there?

It is a little different than the PC "bloatware" The Apple provided apps go back to the first iPhone and prior to Apple allowing third party apps. At that time the smartphones available (Blackberry, Treo) all included Mail, a browser, weather, and stocks apps so Apple did too. Apple also included the iTunes Store and Music apps since they operated a music store. Since then they have continued to offer these apps and have added Newsstand (really a folder), Passport ( a new feature that has to be tied to the OS due to sandboxing restrictions,a Clock, and Apple Watch. Stocks is included since the Blackberry was primarily used by businesses and Apple wanted to be able to include this market.
Once Apple opened up to 3rd party apps they could have dropped some of the included apps but they really don't take a lot of space and I would guess they are widely used. I know I use the included Stocks and Weather, they meet my simple needs and I have no reason to download another and learn it. Oddly if you read the iPad community when it was first released one of the biggest complaints (and it still pops up) is not included clock (now not applicable), weather and calculator apps. You just can't win.

  • My bluetooth earphones won't stay connected to my Apple Watch!

As you are reading this question, be sure to note the distinction between PAIR and CONNECT. They are not the same thing and in this question I use them according to their separate definitions/functions.
I have an Apple Watch and had no trouble pairing and connecting my first set of bluetooth headphones (Jabra Sport) to both my watch and my iPhone 6 (on iOS 8.3). Similarly, the iPhone and Apple Watch pair and connect just fine as well. I am returning the Jabra headphones because they fall out, so I did "Forget This Device" from both my phone and watch. I now want to pair my new Yurbuds earphones from Leap Wireless to both my phone and watch. I know that I cannot use the earphones with both devices simultaneously, but they should be able to remain paired and then I can choose at which time I want to connect to either device. After I got them both paired, I tried to play music from my Apple Watch (playlist stored on the watch) and it plays momentarily and then within seconds the volume scrolls all the way to zero by itself and then disconnects. I've tried starting this process with the bluetooth on my phone OFF and things run smoothly between earphones and watch, but as soon as I turn bluetooth on my phone back ON, the volume on the watch scrolls back down to zero and then disconnects again. I have tried this with my Apple Watch connected to the phone and not connected with the phone. It's almost as if the earphones see that the bluetooth on my phone is in the "on" position and they cancel out the connection to the watch. I've done this same process over and over again, even just turning the watch and headphones on and off again, re-pairing, "Forget This Device," basically trying to start from square one, but it's not stickign!
This didn't happen with the Jabra headphones. Both my phone and watch were paired to the headphones and I just connected to the one that I wanted to use at the time. So I know that what I'm asking is not impossible. It just isn't working and I can't figure out why!!

    Hello:
Try resetting the PRAM and SMC.
Then delete a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) and restart.

  • Can't get Apple watch and iPhone 5S to communicate over wifi.  Any suggestions?

one feature of the watch I'm very interested in is the ability for it to communicate over wifi to my phone.  Put the phone down or be charging it in another room and still use the watch. So far it works fine Bluetooth but I haven't had any success wifi.  Phone is definitely connected wifi.  i don't see any options on the watch or watch app on the phone that would address this .  Anyone have any ideas?

    According to this:
    https://support.apple.com/kb/PH20767
If your Apple Watch and iPhone are on the same network but aren’t connected by Bluetooth, you can also do the following on Apple Watch without iPhone:
Send and receive messages using iMessage
Send and receive Digital Touch messages
    Use Siri
It implies you should get iMessage but not email.

  • Creative way to give backordered Apple watch as a gift

    Hi Everyone,
I ordered the Apple watch for my husband for his 50th birthday.  Unfortunately, it will not be here on time.
Anybody have any creative ideas for how to give a gift that's backordered?  I don't want to just print out the receipt or a picture of the watch.
My best idea right now is to put a watchband around an actual apple and wrap it up in a box.  If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know.
    Thanks!

Here's what I did, similar situation:
I ordered an Apple Watch for a Mother's Day present, May 10th.  However, the earliest ship date is got is May 13th, and that's within a two week range.  So I ordered an extra charger which shipped the very next day.  So now at least I have a nice box with the Apple logo that says, 'Magnetic charging cable' for an Apple Watch.  She will be thrilled.

  • Find My Friends app and Apple Watch

Will Find My Friends app be able to be downloaded on the Apple Watch?

OK. I have read any and everything their has been on the Apple Watch, and their has been nothing about all the apps that will be available in those articles. Now, you could say "Well, that answers your answer."  But, I'm sure their will be some apps that are released that have not been mentioned yet. So, I thought I would ask.
